i think a lot of people tricked themselves and expected run2u 2.0, so they disappointed themselves but i think it’s a great song!! The B-sides are also amazing it’s easily my aoty.

I agree. To my ears this song and Run2U sound absolutely nothing alike, idk if I'm tripping or not lol (the b-sides are INCREDIBLE, there's so much to enjoy in the album!)

Honestly I expected run2u 2.0 and still wasn’t disappointed, like it has hints of run2u in the instrumental but super good comeback from stayc

For me its confusing. Because this sounds is unexpected? For me, it sounds flat somehow and it is not something I expected from STAYC? Even the flow of the song is also something unexpected. Also, it might be because of expectation, maybe my brain can accept this if this song is given (for example) to NewJeans? Like i always expect like much more complex, fuller song from STAYC, and then when suddenly STAYC bring up this style of song, it totally different from what I expect, therefore i got confused and the brain might need time to adjust and once it is adjusted, maybe i will love the song

I think calling it complex and confusing is the biggest compliment you could give the song. It’s pretty clear to me that BEP wanted this song to sound a little quirky, a little digitized.

honestly this song gives me T-ARA vibes the robotic voices but very clear vocals very reminiscent of bep’s old work overall giving me 2nd gen vibes

I'm going to be one of the very few supporters for this song, I guess. I never quite understood the Run2U comparisons everyone was talking about from the teasers and the highlight medley, so idk I appreciated how new and weird this was for STAYC. And I think both the song's short length and all of its strange vocal effects and production choices (the fact that the chorus comes in without a drop) are totally consistent with the story/message that the MV/song is telling. It definitely works much better in the context of the album too!

I love stayc so much but this is not it. I literally like every song in this album but this.

To be honest I really like Run2U so I was like expecting to like this also. However I'm kinda also disappointed how this song is very short like at least give us a bridge😭. But I really like the catchyness of the song, and I think most people would be confuse listening to the song. Hope you can listen to their album😊

i kind of love this comeback honestly 😭 i might just be easy to please but this song is so addicting throughout its whole runtime, even if it is short. the choppy electronic vocals are honestly such an earworm for me, especially the verses they remind me of momentz by gorillaz!

I genuinely can not understand how this song is getting the amount of hate it is, it’s the most fun release this summer

At first i didn't like it hut now i do! It gives me second gen/ early thrid geb vibes! It's diffewnt and that's what i kinda needed. I really love when groups bring something different from their other combacks like wooah! It's almost hyperpop kinda or like disoriented in a good way! But it's a 7/10 for me!

I was initially pretty thrown off with the song upon my first listening. But while listening to the full album, somehow I immediately like it after listening to it the 2nd time. I don't even know how it happens because tbh I haven't really warmed up to RUN2U until now (it's still my least favorite STAYC song), but probably because the beat of this song is just too good and many parts are so catchy. Aside from Cheeky Icy Thang, the full album itself (Metamorphic) consists of diverse and easy-listening songs. It's an amazing album, really. I rarely like ALL songs in one album, no matter how biased I am to the groups. But damn I can't help but loving every single song in Metamorphic. Yes, I like all 14 songs. They are just THAT good. If any of you feel off with the title track, please try to give the whole album a listen. It's truly promising ❤

I felt the exact same way at first. It feels very STAYC like but also unfamiliar. I think it's a good feature cause they managed to show us the new side and at the same time stay in their own flavour. This song makes you confused at first listen but the more you listen to it the catchiest it is!! It’s always happening to me 🤣 and contrary to a lot of people I love the most the altered/robotic vocal parts, it sounds so cool and fits perfectly the song’s sassy vibe 🌟

This is exactly STAYC’s sound, people just forgot because they came back with Bubble & Teddy Bear. For me, this is a reminiscent of ASAP and RUN2U. Electro-pop (?) kinda sound is STAYC’s sound. It’s not exactly my favorite title track I’ll be honest. But at least 1 Thing made me stay. You’ve got to check out 1 Thing!

I absolutely adore this song, it is so StayC and so catchy in my opinion, and I do think it is more on the Run2U and ASAP side of their discography than the stereotype and bubble side, but I don’t think that it isn’t as good as those songs, it definitely holds its own!

gonna be honest and say i didn’t like run2u so i was so scared when people started saying this would be run2u 2.0 and im so glad it wasn’t this song is so unique and quirky and different and at the same time cohesive and very stayc i really enjoyed this

I have a love hate relationship with this song. It’s too short and I would love a bridge. I am not personally a fan of the voice effects added to mainly the chorus. But I watched the showcase performance of the song and I love it more there because they don’t have those effects. The instrumental has a huuuuuuuge potential. It’s experimental but screams STAYC, but Rado decided to apply the “experiment” with the melody too which did not give unfortunately. It sounds so out of place. The sing talking threw me off because there was so much potential on those bars, it got wasted when he could’ve inserted a more palatable melody in it

For me I love the song, but I feel like there’s not enough happening to divide the song into versus, pre chorus and chrous, it all sounds like one big verse with stuff getting added. I liked it but I feel like especially for their first album the song fell flat and has a lot of missed opportunities. This should’ve made a huge impact instead it’s length and same sound throughout is gonna make it forgettable in their discography for me
