​​@@williamfries960I actually cried for her when I found out. Not only did she die, but she died coming to regret the life she'd led,and resenting something she loved doing ever since she was a girl. She regreted deeply not having started a family of her own and not spending enough time with her loved ones when she had the chance... She apparently went berserk when she learned she was dying and destroyed a lot of her music and works in progress. I find her story very similar to Minnie Ripperton's who died in 1979 of breast cancer when Mikki was making her début Apparently there's a movie about her coming out soon...and there a really good documentary wich you can find here on KZread if you're interested.

It's what I imagine those classic Japanese female vocalists would have sounded like with perfect English. That's Caitlin Myers for you. I first came across her on her version of Plastic Love a couple of years and I love that song. I have yet to listen to some more of her other songs, but these are a great way to have the meaning draw you in and they will help reinforce your love for J-Pop. I was curious what the lyrics meant but English versions usually suck so I didn't really want to listen to this but I'm so glad I did. This is one of the only times I've listened to a song that was translated to English and thought it was practically as good as the original. One of the best city pops I have listened to. I cry a lot whenever I hear this because it is about longing and the truth that there is no turning back in time and that it's impossible to relive the same love and romance. On the other hand, Miki's voice is powerful, and the depth of her emotions put into the song is simply superb. If she lived, she is now in her 60s. Ive been listening to this for the past 5 hours and its still not getting old i could listen to this song forever

"I'm who I am as I am/You're who you are as you are" These lyrics, the only ones I understood in the original, are just fantastic, so simple, but a perfect way to open the song. What I really like about good English covers like this one is that they help me appreciate the original even more.

The vocal work here is just PERFECT for this take. I love when artists truly own their covers and make it some special.

I would definitely play this song while getting flashbacks.

I refrained myself from listening to covers cuz I didn't want the og song ruined, but this cover is so amazing!

I had this playing on a loop, and the way that the VHS rewind at the end blends into the play at the beginning is a nice touch, these really are "Bittersweet melodies, on an endless repeat, it seems"

Once again, you voice is fantastic. I LOVE the added aesthetics - subtle little animations and the perfect loop with the VHS rewinding (with the proper runtime in the bottom right!).
