I just finished watching this. I really loved it! Finally, I can relate to the protagonist. As someone who never had intimate relationship with someone before, I can totally relate to how she feels. And Joey's eyes caught my attention, it's the way he looks at her, I also want someone to look at me like that.

@@jasminekaif8546 Tbh I was confused with the ending too. But I think, they're both just good as friends even though they like each other but not to the point they want to be with each other. I also think because he chose to continue his career as a football player and she chose to stay. The bus scene at the end, I guess she also like that guy and she wanna make the move first so that she won't regret it after? Since He (the male lead) teaches her to be more confident.

It’s the “No, I think she actually is hard to get” for me.

Someone in the comments described this as delicate and I absolutely agree. There was a gentleness and earnestness about the way Grace and Carter fall in love. The true mark of a good romance film is the longing of the audience for the two leads to realize that they are meant for each other. And this movie delivered. The chemistry was palpable. I have a new favourite movie to put on my list.

I know this is random, but I loved the comfy, coziness of Grace's bed. Her linen was clean, crisp, and plump. It was a perfect place for her to retreat in complete warmth after her terrible day that lead to a wonderful ending.❤

This is the kind of film with a plot I'd secretly always hoped, would happen to me. Imagine my surprise when the things I had imagined in the back of my mind played out on screen like magic. Writer and director Renuka Jeyapalan is a genius for creating this gem. The story flows like water and the cast perform their role wonderfully. I can't help but mention that the actors in this film, respectively are really beautiful. The leads, especially! I was mesmerised the whole time. The chemistry between them was palpable. I am very impressed by this film and I highly look forward to seeing more of the director and the cast.

Should have a sequel to show how their careers progress and also their long-distance friendship

just watched this. really loved it. Better than a lot of modern romances like Before the Sunrise. The chemistry was very believable...the story was great. Gave me the feels. Having an asian protagonist makes this extra special for me. Renuka Jeyapalan the director did an amazing job. I hope more people see it

I felt the chemistry thing from the trailer..and also thought to myself, that it feels like an old school movie where the acting and atmosphere didn't feel plastic like the way most of these younger actors, movies, and shows feel like nowadays.

I Immediately felt like this was like before sunrise but updated and realistic too. One of my new faves. To be vulnerable with someone unexpected is so special. I also relate to being a closed off Asian girl too haha.. taking a lot away from this watch!

Their chemistry was amazing!! Best romance of 2022!! I loved this movie so much, the cast was amazing they did SUCH a great job portraying their roles.

i just done watching the movie 15 minutes ago, her character as a reserve girl is so like me it´s like she´s playing my story + im asian too, i guess a lot of asian women can relate to this movie

Wow I didn’t expect to love this film as much as I did. Solid pacing for 90 minutes. Didn’t feel too short, every scene made sense and I loved the parallels and how the story was tied up in the end. Definitely worth a rewatch!

the conversations were really good too...just all round great movie🥰

I really like this movie. A delicate one. Actually watched it twice and it is going to be more. Renuka Jeyapalan did a great job to portrait Grace's expression and development from a female lens that makes it so relatable and connected. The chemistry is truly there. The background music proper. Above all, the conversation is smart and engaging. One of the best movie I've seen in 2022. Curious about the ending, though.

Usually movies make you feel like they are going to end up together and get married and live a lovely life forever. The end. This ending with the look Grace gave the guy on the bus let me know that she learned from her experience with Carter. They were never going to see each other again.

@@thanhmai8684 I think I grew up on too much Disney bc I do like those schmaltzy happily ever after endings. Movie studios test audiences and realistic endings never go over well. This is the first romcom I have seen that didn't have the couple running off into the sunset together. I was curious by your "curious" comment tiz all.

This was the type of romcom we all need in our lives! Great cast. Great continuity! Great location. I really felt like they were in Chicago until I saw the skyline @ the end of the movie. The music was perfect. No well-known artists. Quality music. The cast was short and sweet. Plus there wasn't the classic Disney-esq type of ending. Basically this was a real life type of per chance encounter. I am so glad I watched this movie!! Really well done.❤

Great movie. This movie is a gem: small, intimate, touching. This trailer does nothing to convey the sincerity and authenticity of this wonderful movie. The trailer captures the general plot bullet points but the movie delivers so much more. See it with your partner. Forget the wine and flowers. You will feel so good after watching this film, they won't be necessary.

I just finished this movie and it was magical in a calm way i can relate to the protagoniste so much a well portrayed character

This movie was beautiful, the director, the cinematography, the awkward silences and quiet, delicate romance and chemistry between the two characters portrayed by the actors was great. So many questions about the ending though but that’s fine! - did he choose Syracuse over LA? - did he lie about LA because he didn’t want to make a big deal out of being demoted? - what happened in the end? Did they get together? Stay in touch? Or was it just that she liked him, he liked her but that was it? Still a great movie though 🦋

I think the ending ended the way it did because these two are figuring out what they really want. They made a very powerful connection with one another, but I like the fact that it was more realistic. Because I believe a relationship is more than just about following your heart, it's about making a lot of big decisions that can alter your life. They may reconnect later on down the road. But, I like the fact that they are figuring out what it is they want to do...focus on advancing in their careers, maybe trying to make a long-distance relationship work, making a big decision to move to another city/country, etc. It's not always simple! And I like that they leave it up in the air because life is unpredictable, love is unpredictable, relationships are unpredictable!

Wow this was really good! It needs to be a part 2 it needs to continue🙂

No. I disagree. Why can't this movie just be? I have finally accepted that not every romance needs to mean they end up together or live happily ever after. Nights like the one these two had can sustain a person a lifetime.

I can see how you would make that comparison, but no one wanted to see Bill Murray and Scarjo hook up.🤮Plus I liked the fact this movie was so unassuming. No big names. No fluff. No hype. No major sponsorships looming in the background. No overpriced apt. you wonder how the main character can afford on her salary. Basically no pretense. "Lost in Translation" was directed by Hollywood royalty, Sofia Coppola. It came with a certain built-in hype.

I loved this film❤ Finally something done so right it's breathtaking! The actors were superb! The 2 main actors had this innocent sexy charm about them that made u fall in love w both of them! This was everything! Sweet, funny, sad n just fantastic n thank u so much 4 not falling in2 the typical, predictable rut w explicit sex scenes boardering on sleazy porn! This was clean, pure n classy! Thank u❤

Grace was annoying! She complains about everything! Literally everything! She thinks life is a damn fairytale when it’s not. Instead of jus going with the flow and trying new things she complains. Ugh she ruined the movie for me

Believe it or not but a LOT of people relate to Grace. She doesn't think life is a fairytale, more like the complete opposite. A lot of people grew up being told to do the right thing and make the right choices so never knew how to let loose and be open

Ha ha ha! I found Grace adorable! She was lost trying 2 b normal! But I know what u mean when a character is a whiny, complaining ass! I can't stand that 2 but 4 me Grace was far from that! She just had her ways n when she explained them, they made sense! I loved her n this movie ❤
