Remember to fit frame tape if your using clip on guards. Does not take long to rub through paint.
Interesting bit about the small front mudguards on a MTB.. I came via here cos I'm actually looking for mudguards for my Gravel bike that don't look horrible. I have previously not used them for that reason.. But i had no such qualms about my Downhill MTB. I've had a small front guard for ages & they make a huge difference. Unlike all other style guards, they can actually add style to a bike too. Lots of them have different graphics & designs. My Downhill MTB looks better with it on than off. I have one on the rear too & again, for such a small piece of plastic, it makes a huge difference.. So I'm totally sold on guards for MTBs. But i hate the look of seat post mounted guards, so i only use mine when i have to.. Hence why I'm doing research on what's out there..
very informative, well made and likeable video. Thanks
very helpful, thank you
Mudguards all the way!
I always ride with fenders but an important aspect is to have them mounted so they have at least an inch of clearance from the tire and are able to be removed in a few minutes when necessary. When I started my build I wanted the best all-around ebike possible with the focus on maximum range and the ability to carry/pull hundreds of pounds of gear. So far I haven't seen anything that comes close. Stay safe. @t 25 Jul 20 - Mowich Lake @t @t 26 Jul 20 - Rain Forest trail @t @t @ @t
What would the downsides be using the speedrocker (as here on the gravelbike) on a roadbike (instead of the raceblades as shown)? They are a big longer, but also wider. Would it be too wide?
Nice video. I'm about to purchase a Trek Domane AL 4 Disc bike, and would like to put permanent mudguards on it. The bike comes fitted with eyelets, so I'll be bolting these fenders on. Metal would be ideal for strength and robustness, adding longevity to the product, and rounded, smooth chrome, or simply silver color, would be nice for aesthetic reasons, but the lack of that option would not be a dealbreaker. I've been looking for quite some time now, but can't seem to find exactly what I need. Any help you could offer would be much appreciated.
3 pm?!?!? When does the sun come up on those days?
Any recommendations for full length guards for disc brake road bikes without eyelets? The SKS Raceblades don't have seat tube and drivetrain coverage and the Crud Roadracers aren't well reviewed. I'm riding a Canyon Endurace CF Disc with 30mm tyres

Stainless steel "P" clips with the rubber inserts will work, some manufacturers still supply them with generic front racks etc. Marine/boat places are a good source if you have one nearby take the bike. HTH. :-)
Sir where can i buy this kind of fender
"You can put them on and forget about them" my ass, sooner or later the sticks are gonna get bent and the fenders are gonna rub against the tire
how wide are the tires?
Rivets on sks are very poor, only get one winter out of them and then they pop off. No worries though, make sure you have some spare bolts buttonhead m4x6mm a2 stainless steel with m4nut fit perfectly.😁

Washing with aggressive cleaning agents could explain why. I have no problem with SKS mudguards

@@harryrowland4734 never clean with aggressive cleaning agents. Salt on wet winter roads is more likely the reason. Nevertheless they should be of a sufficient grade metal to withstand this.

Just don't get anything made of cheap plastic. 400 miles of commuting on our awful British roads over 3 months and the mudguard snapped off mid ride while it was raining lol.
Why don't most of the modern road bikes don't have fittings for the useful stuff like mudguards, why?why?

Because the industry wants U 2 buy a gravel, adventure, or commuter bike 4 winter bike. Even though none of this 💩is even stock & bikes are priced as used cars. Good luck just bought a gravel bike myself.
Just get a mountain bike 🚵♀️

Why? I never ride on mud or gravel trails at the moment. I hate people like you on the internet - someone asks where can I buy a yellow highlighter and you tell them to forget about yellow and just buy themselves a green one. Why? You know nothing about why they were wanting a yellow one in the first place? Maybe they already have three green ones but you tell them to buy another one?!?! Your comment is helpful to no-one.
