Same here. I love Sam and he's one of my all time favorite Jeopardy contestants, but at the same time I'm glad we literally didn't just get a repeat of the 2022 TOC. Granted it's STILL ridiculous that we're getting Amy vs. Andrew for the millionth time now in just a span of 2 1/2 years, but hopefully Victoria can maybe break the mold here and beat both of them.

I was wildly guessing Des Moines, "of the monks', but no; even though I've live in CA for 20 years.

Also my guess for this State Capitals Final Jeopardy Clue would have been 1 of the following 3. 1: Sacramento 2: Santa Fe 3: Des Moines

I'm kicking myself on this one. I looked at the clue. I'm thinking about the Spanish tie to the name going back to the 15th/16th century. I thought we were looking for a State capital that was in the Eastern part of the country. I had a guess of Tallahassee. Now for the part where I am kicking myself. I should have focused on the last name. There is a town of Moraga in California. Had I thought about it a little bit longer, I would have gotten to Sacramento in the end. Dumb move on my part.

My guess was Santa Fe; I thought of the correct response as time expired.

The clue focused around a Spanish priest so I guessed western US, then guessed the Capital correctly.

From what I've heard she's like the top quizzer in the entire world. I'd be scared as shit to go against her in an actual trivia setting, even if Jeopardy evens things out a bit more with the buzzer speed and DD factors.

I'm definitely rooting for Victoria to win this. Would be nice if all 3 additional Masters contestants besides the 3 seeded ones are new ones!

Fun fact: Matt Jackson is the second superchampion Victoria Groce defeated. The first was David Madden in 2005.

There's a town in the East Bay named Moraga. That's how I got it.

If Amy wins the tournament and advances to Masters, she and Matt can potentially be the next Jeopardy champions to win $2 million in all time earnings. It would also give Yogesh a further challenge to face four superchampions (James Holzhauer, Mattea Roach, and Matt Amodio) in the Masters Tournament. If Andrew wins, he would continue his streak of having defeated or come ahead of Amy, as he did in every Masters game they faced each other. If Victoria wins, the Alex Trebek stage will be the second game show stage shared by her and James Holzhauer! And since she defeated superchampion Matt Jackson, she can potentially defeat other superchampions in Masters! I wish they can all advance to the Masters tournament!

I kept think it was either the southwest US, Texas or Florida due to the Spanish reference. Texas and Florida were eliminated fast. Leaving NM, AZ or CA. AZ didn't make sense leaving 2.

Even if he did, he still wouldn't have won the match if he got the correct response because Victoria bet enough to take the lead by $1 in case he did bet all of it.

That is a Protestant belief. In both Catholic and Orthodox Christianity, there are seven sacraments: Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Matrimony, Holy Orders, Reconciliation, and Anointing of the Sick. (I listed the seven by their Catholic titles; Orthodox Christianity may express them by different names. However, the purpose of each of the seven sacraments is the same in both Catholicism and Orthodoxy.)

Had David Madden gone all in on the Daily Double in the semifinals, we would've seen a rematch between him and Victoria! Meanwhile, we still have the Amy and Andrew rematch, which is also fun to see!

You mean it's not Sinsinnati, as in Seven Deadly? (OK. I know that Columbus is the capital of Ohio, and I know how to spell Cincinnati, but it was the best pun I could come up with on short notice.) Well, it had to be a state settled primarily by Spaniards, so that leaves us with Tallahassee, Austin, Santa Fe, Phoenix and, ta-dah, Sacramento. Eliminate the Muskogean word, the Greek word, and the English name, and even if you don't make the connection to the Seven Sacraments, we know there aren't seven holy faiths, so, by process of elimination, you're left with Sacramento. Well done by Sam and Victoria.

Cincinnati is named after Cincinnatus of Roman Republic history.

Sam is incredibly smart, but unfortunately he doesn’t buzz in the right way. They always say buzz in once, not 50 times. Sam would not be the the one with the most losses, but the Jeopardy champ if he worked on his buzzing skills.
