Excellent review. I purchased the frameset only. I didnt think about it as an adventure bike, but that is a perfect idea!

Just ordered in the matte black with all of the upgrades you mentioned: comfy seat, riser bars, platform pedals, bottle rack. Seems like it'll be great for both commutes around the city and light trails. Thanks for the tips!

FYI Countries that drive on the left have the front brake on the right. The most dangerous move is a right arm signal turn, so it was deemed safer to brake the rear with the left hand. You could go over the bars with hard front braking. Vice versa in countries that drive on the right. Simples 😊

It really depends on how much you want to spend really. If you have the disposable money you could get lighter parts. It also depends on what you use it for. Im sure there’s some crazy wheels like Zipp that would make it lighter but you don’t wanna get it stolen if you leave your bike outside locked up often….

Hey, also from chicago(south side) Maybe get some carbon or aluminum parts? Definitely invest in some mid profile wheels for weight reduction but rigidity. I’m actually planning to buy some Essor wheels for my 4130. I got the previous version of this model.
