Rust everywhere, hood and body decomposing and the engine still runs normally after being left to rot for 18 years with a replacement fuel pump and unjamming the alternator. Best example of japanese cars reliability that i have ever seen, these things are freaking war tanks!

True, the front light are infact glass, sidelights tho are plastic

Not even knocking or valve ticking when started after 18 years is truly mind-blowing.

-Body rusted almost completely in half - Rear axle falling off - Front springs likely collapsed but runs and drives like new...i love toyota!

Rust is the enemy of old Toyotas. As long as the rust is kept at bay the rest of the car will run just about forever.

Another beauty from the golden era of Toyota. These cars may rust… but the engines will never give up.

You are buying/obtaining more and more rusty remnants of the cars and you still make them work. That is really impressive.

My 36 year old Corolla starts reliably every day on the first turn of the key and it's carbureted too.

They dont make like this anymore,perfect engine like if it was runing 5minutes ago,my uncle still have one of this,never give him nothing major and the Fiat 125P another good example. This is The AE82 Corolla was manufactured and sold in the 80s and 90s. In Japan it was manufactured and sold under the name "Corolla FX." No surprise..It's a Toyota! I still own my first car, a 1990 Starlet, 1000cc, carbureted and point ignition engine. Just a few spots of rust, runs great. If Toyota could produce it again, I would by two of them.

I had 5-door hatchback of this as my first car in 2007, was a perfect car for new driver, withstoods all the punishment you throw at it haha. This must be '90-'92 car, since it's fuel injected, 1.3L 2E-E engine, mine was carbureted 2E one. Guaranteed that it was gonna start immediately with fresh petrol and a battery. Rest of the car is however just too far gone, maybe some parts are worth to save though.

@@krus180Windows, emblems, headlight glass, interior might've molded too much already. Rear end also has solid steel suspension arm rods compared to EE80's pressed sheet steel ones, which rusted away. Not that these are valuable to restore though, they made millions of these + shitload of them have been imported to Africa during past decades.

Not much left of that one but revived into life! Almost sounded like a world car through the forest!! Thought you would need the sweeping brush after the jet wash 🤣 great vid 👍

I mean, I wouldn’t be so sure because not only Is it rusted but literally the only light on the car that works is the left turn signal on the side of the cover over the tire and the back brake light for headlights

For a minute I thought I would have to take back all the praise I had used on the Corolla but the poor thing just started right up. I had the 4 door hatchback version. In Australia it was badged as CSi Limited and it had the 1.6 litre 4AFE engine. Fantastic car, went really well and handled excellently. This one seems to be sadly beyond help but it sounded really good echoing through the trees. 😊👍

I had a 1986 nissan Bluebird 2.0 petrol with the bonnet missing, so the engine was naked for a couple of years under a tree with leaves ,rain, and snow in uk . When i tried starting with a new battery, the nissan engine started on the first turn. I was so shocked that a car could do that after what it had been through.

Never seen a corolla of that design. So cool

The A-series engines on that generation of corolla (4A-FE, 4A-GE, 7A-FE) will probably running on the other side of the heat death of the universe Same for the 1.3s like in this video
