If you are able to afford to mend the kitchen stove and chimney, it will help heat the whole house. The central chimney breast acts like a storage radiator, and the whole house will be more liveable. Think l speak for everyone when l say l would contribute to a crowd fund. It would not require anything from you in return, but would be funded with good wish for your comfort. And that stove is really cute lol!
The most important job is the one at hand. Try not to overwhelm yourself with the entire gamut of tasks on the to-do list. Work as you live for quality and in the moment, Rosie. You're doing an amazing job of whittling away at your dream life. I thank you for including us on that journey. Love from America.

Rosie, you are one woman who has done the work of about 200 people all by yourself. The world needs more self- instructed, highly motivated people like you!!
Working mother earth, the soil, plant life, though physically exhausting will reveal itself to serve you well. Grounding, relaxing...adding to your ability to increase patience, serving true purpose.
Happy Birthday.😄🎂🥂🎊🎉. It’s going to fabulous when you get this room done. I hate to be devils advocate, but I really think you should make the chimney re- build a major priority. Now with the weather improving, it would make good sense to get this major job done with. It will make next winter much easier for you too. 🙂

You're so right. There is only a home if their is fire. Fire also means free cooking, dying, herb, apple and clothes drying.
Happy Birthday young lady! I really enjoy your videos, from one woman who has remodeled two homes on my own, I understand how overwhelming things can get. Take one day at a time, one project at a time, and be sure to get your rest. When all is done you will feel so good that you did this yourself. You got this girl.
I always think that peoples houses ressemble them It corresponds to what is inside their head Your new home is becoming so beautiful So fresh and calm So special yet unpretentious It is simply magical There is something that one cannot describe But feel It is a lovely feeling 😊💕🕊️ Thank you so much Rosie 🌺😊👒🌸🌿🕊️

Agree. Our homes are a reflection of us.
There is a moth whose caterpillars can also occur en masse (Lymantria dispar, Spongy moth). They eat whole trees bare. However, once they have finished eating and pupate, the trees will recover on their own. The problem will probably solve itself without having to thwart this insect!! Isn't there a farmer nearby who can help you work part of your garden? Once you have sown the herbaceous plants, it is often a good idea to mow part of the area early. In other words, phased mowing. Doing this before the grasses can set seed will suppress the grass and give the herbaceous plants a chance. An early mowing also means that those herbaceous plants will probably still bloom in the autumn. Of course, then you need good weather (rain) during the summer, but that is not known in advance. Good luck.
It’s obvious you listen to the needs of your body, mind and spirit . You balance well your existence…and I delight in knowing that spring and summer will furthermore enhance your enjoyment of the nature around you…🌱
I love your videos; especially the sewing segments. You are so inspiring. I only wish your videos would never end.

From a distance, what a peaceful life you lead. You are very skilled with your camera work, especially the drone shots! You even make brewing coffee look lovely, with a yellow flowering branch nearby. Thanks for sharing.
I love the triangle shape you chose for the wild flower garden. Happy Birthday!
This significance of this day is beyond just your birthday. It is a celebration of someone that is greatly admired. Happy Birthday!
Happy Birthday😊 You are exactly right about room function! You don't want to sleep where you work! I would sprinkle those wildflowers really thickly, can't wait to see what grows! Nice work, as always, enjoy your spring❤
The drone footage is great. Watching the birch fill in the landscape with fresh acid green is so satisfying. Maybe a SAD lamp for next winter? You've moved quite far north. I'm in Glasgow and I was living in the home counties in England before moving here 10 years ago. The longer, darker, colder winters take some getting used to. Vitamin D supplements, getting as much winter sun as possible and the SAD lights, all help. But that sense of relaxing when sun finally starts to warm you is such a relief.
Thank you for bringing us on your journey!! what a project! As an avid gardener, I love that you are incorporating wildflowers! If you are looking for advice with regard to the turf, (If you're not looking for advice; I also completely understand!) - I personally have stopped removing turf, and instead sheet mulching it. Most of the beneficial nutrients and soil life are in the first few centimeters, so it is better for plants not to remove it. I personally find it easiest to do this with secondhand cotton bed sheets that I get from thrift shops, and mulch (leaf mold, earth, wood chips, compost or whatever you find in the forest) on top. Just sow your flower seeds directly in there. You can cut little holes in the fabric for biggest plants, After a few seasons, the fabric and grass underneath it will have composted nicely. - If you want to remove turf, you can place the turf upside down in a pile ( so the grass doesn't keep growing) and they will turn quite quickly into really good soil for your garden. also makes for a good filling of raised beds if you'd want them. best of luck, the place looks great!!
Yes, cleaning is a never ending, thankless task! One can clean everything and a few days later, dust, dead bugs, dust bunnies, dirty windows! Arrrrggggg!
I think it makes perfect sense to have a private function share space with a potential socializing function per room rather than have one private room and one more formal. If you have company for both dining and living room on the same day, the house will feel bigger if it's not all in the same room.
Your choice of background music is soothing and truly appreciated.
I can't wait for your parents to see the work you have done the next time they visit. Looks great and Happy Birthday Rosie.
Happy Birthday Rosie! And much success with your wild flower gardens. We plant wild flowers every year along our fence row and really enjoy them!
Happy Birthday Rosie. It makes sense to me to have your study and dining room combined for the reasons you state. It makes sense to have a sofabed in the living room which will be your relaxing space. I think that you are marvellous to fit everything around your day job. Everything will happen at its own pace so try and not be overwhelmed. One way to get rid of garden bugs is to spray with a washing up liquid and water mix.
To get rid of unwanted pests like beetles, attract the birds...I have seen it and it does work. even if you make your own birdseed bird food. They will eat the pests. The more birds, less unwanted bugs. On another note, your little cottage is just so sweet, and you are doing an amazing job with it, your little guesthouse was so great to watch. Spring is here, overwhelmed, lists and maybe some kind of grace for yourself, give yourself time...

Thanks again Rosie. You continue to inspire, amuse, delight and astonish. Love your gentle, pragmatic can-do approach. For what it’s worth, you’re doing a great job.
You'll find you'll use the table in your study for working as well. Yes, you have plenty of work surfaces along the wall and are able to look out of the windows, but there's something about working in the middle of the room. I know fung shei says always sit facing the door. But you do you. 💖🌞🌵😷

Absolutely love your videos, what a wonderful journey you're on. It may be a good opportunity to get your chimney fixed in the summer. I know it's gonna be expensive but the fixers are not that busy this time of year and might give you a better quote. Also, storing dry branches would save so much money in the winter on heating costs. Just my two cents.

You know that famous quote? This is definitively for you with this big project over years … We make the journey by taking each day step by step and then repeating it again and again until we reach our destination. Focus on the journey, not the destination. Joy is found not in finishing an activity but in doing it. Success is a journey, not a destination.
Very excited! 🎉

Any update on the chimney situation? Part of summer is getting ready for winter ;) Firewood need to be split and under roof and drying before midsummer if you want to be able to use it for example. Would nice if you could heat the house this fall/winter with wood, it is fairly cheap, maybe you can have a neighbor deliver ready split wood for you, etc.
Happy belated birthday! If I get one thing done on any given day, I consider that a win. When your dreams are bigger than your life situation - every steps towards the dream is an accomplishment, no matter how big or small. You’re doing just fine.
It makes sense to put study and bedroom together cause having a fireplace in the dineroom make so that you and your guests don't freeze while eating and socializing. Utility and needs have to compromise. For me eating in a cold room is worse than study in a bedroom
Happy birthday Rosie
You, Rosie, so a great job of prioritizing. It’s hard to shift gears sometimes! In the summer, the outdoors; gardening, cutting grass, clearing shrub, cutting firewood, painting outside structures all takes priority over the inside work. It’s like this for everyone! My mom used to say, in the summer, the inside work suffers! I don’t worry anymore about getting EVERYTHING done because it’s not practical. One does what’s needing to be done at hand. The rest will get done later.
You're a brave.girl! To me you're a girl because I'm an old lady ❤. You're a pleasure to watch! And you have very good taste, well a knack for decorating. 2 to 3 tablespoons baking soda . Mix in one gallon water. Spray with water bottle will get rid of bugs on plants and trees.
So nice to see you outside working! I’m sure it’s must needed after a long winter. You might try diluted Neem oil for the trees. It works on my shrub dose to remove beetles. Do a bit of research before you try of course. Just a thought.

Hi, I'm not sure if it's already been suggested, but I would recommend putting in a birdbath to attract birds into your garden. It's worth researching because placement and things like depth etc are important for a successful birdbath, I have 2 and they not only attract birds but also bring me a great deal of joy and entertainment.

Use a sprayer, like the ones used to spray that you pump up for pressure. Spray that bug killer upwards into the trees that have bugs, or on bushes, but yes a sprayer will work and there are more natural sprays that you can use.

Happy birthday Rosie🎂🍩🌷, and I can see you are busy but remember to think that another winter with extreme cold is coming and you need to get warm in your body if you don't end up with arthritis. I think it must be terrible to go around doing something in such a cold where the hands become stiff and cold. The chimney must also be fixed in warm weather so that there is no frost damage from the start. What about a steel chimney would be cheaper. I could hear how you had a hard time this winter with the cold, so I pray that you can find a solution to the problem as I actually think it is absolutely terrible for you to face another extreme winter cold. Can't wait to see your next projects because the guest house turned out incredibly nice,❤🙂
