Спорт

Olympic Sailing Team members Roble-Shea Sailing explain Starting Strategy. Steph and Maggie shared many insights that go beyond the advice most of us have learned. The interaction was rich, with pre-planned polls and lots of viewer questions.

Ladies, this is by far the BEST analysis of starting a sailboat race I have seen. I especially appreciate the analysis of acceleration.

For me the race begins when you can apply the tactic you chose before the start or when you have clear air, depending on the course

Any comment on what might be different for larger boats like a j70 or other keelboats? Do you try to keep the speed more up in the approach for example?
