Just a word of caution rabbits like to chew and the zip ties might not be long term. they can chew through those The metal clips are easy and a lifetime clip. Just a heads up not trying to get in your business. But the set up looks great

Those are very very cheap!! Better off making your own bank of cages out of 1/2 x 1 galvanized wire! You can order it from klubertanz rabbit supply. You’ll never ever have to replace them and they won’t rust. Wish I was closer I would come build them for y’all. You can also order the water nipples from them and the hose as well.

Thanks for the info. We may go with those the future. I needed something kinda quick because we have another project coming up in the barn where the rabbits were at. When we started with rabbits we used the same cages with j clips. Just passing knowledge the cages won't last just but a year. They will chew and scratch the thin coating off Cage and it will rust from the urine. When you can star with building new cages to replace them. Just a tip

We had that same issue with the bird netting. There is a netting at Lowe's called deer netting. It is thicker material and works great. I put it on top of all my poultry pens to keep the hawk out. It's heavier and very reasonable in price. 100 foot roll for like $30. I think it would serve your needs well at keeping the chickens out of the loft.

I agree those cages look pretty flimsy, I would be afraid a good sized rabbit and it would break. I have a off the wall ?. would those wire dog kennels work better. they look to be a lot more sturdy than those and I find them all over the place for $15 to $20 and if you take the tray out of the bottom waste will drop to the ground, those cages I wonder how much they will hope up with a rabbit, never mind a nest box and a litter but like I said I am learning. I am not ready for rabbits yet but watching to learn everything I can. I know here (Upper Michigan) we have closed down mink farms and we can buy those cages pretty cheap too. IT is a really nice set up for sure hope it works good for you

I have never had a raken so I do not know about racoons and opossums in this setting. However, I had one lone racoon climb and destroy 9 chickens in just one night for what seemed like a delight to kill chickens. He failed to understand how much I delight to kill threats to my flock as I killed him while he was loping toward the coup the very next night. Perhaps if there is a way to energize your poultry netting there is no way they can climb up and over.
