100% Agree w/ your video. My Wife & I started out w/ nothing. In 1997 I met my Wife, I had just lost everything. My father had a stroke in 1996, I tried to take over management of the family businesses, but the other stakeholders wanted out & everything was liquidated. Anyway, 1998in a weak moment my then girlfriend said yes to me asking her to marry me. We were married in 1999, during our marriage we worked, saved, worked & saved some more. During our 25yrs. of marriage we lost our youngest Son, paid off a mountain of medical bills from ailments that plagued our oldest Son, but through all of that we managed to buy my Wife's grandparent's farm back, which had been split-up & sold. We managed to acquire the full 1/4 Section of farm/ranch Land. We Farm & Ranch the land now, and will continue until the Good Lord changes our path. Anything is possible if you have the Will & Desire !

I been telling my wife for 7yrs I want to move to Montana, build a home, and just live off the land, maybe start a small business...thing is I know nothing about farming, but I have good work ethic, and determined not to give up

First thing is you better explore the landscape of Montana because when the weather turns 50 and 60 below and the snow is blowing sideways you've got to hold down three jobs just to pay the propane bill and there's not that many jobs in Montana....that's why all the youngsters have to leave the state to find work

Your parents truly are an inspiration. Many would just throw in the towel and give up. Giving up is not an option, life throws hard lessons at us to learn from…. That’s why there are old souls and young souls. Kudos to you and your family. Life’s successes come with hard work and sometimes pain.

My wife’s parents had a similar story. They never gave up. And today there hard work supports three families.

Lesson’s in life is the best teacher. Thanks Trinity for sharing their story!

Great words of wisdom! Don’t ever give up! I love your family‘a life story. I myself had to reset from beginning few times. Few years back I sold everything back in Maryland and moved to Montana. Currently I’m trucking long haul and only spend few days a month with my family. I paid down my debts and saved a little. As the prices of land is moving down I’m eyeing a nice property in Montana to start all over again. I wasn’t afraid to be homeless for a while and start all over again.one day I will say, “ It was all worth it”. Don’t ever give up on your dreams folks!

Wonderful story and very well told. I have a brother that started farming after his return from Viet Nam and did very well with a farm and cattle/hog operation until the banker came on the yard wearing a cowboy hat and told him no more credit and the land wasn't worth as much as the debt. He started over as a caretaker of a church and house and driving long distance trucking. Now, he has a thriving business hauling grain and feed with 5-6 independent contractors working with his authority and management. It can be done - but the stress is unbelievable, but the rewards are immense.

I'm 73 years old now, and my story is similar to your parents, my wife and I have both worked since we left school at 15 years of age, we are still working now, we own a beautiful farm about the same size as your parents first one, we own a house on the northern beaches in Sydney Australia, where my Son and Daughter in-law live with the three children, my daughter and her husband and their two children have built a house on our farm, and live here with us, none of this would have been possible if not for our hard work and the creed that my wife and I have always lived by, and that is "the only opinion that counts is your own", I have always listened to advise that is well meaning but most times has no relevance when it all boils down to it, follow your intuition and you can never go wrong, even if you make a wrong decision it is your decision and no one else's. I loved listening to you recount your parents story Trinity, I'm sure if my Wife and I were to meet them, we would hit it of nicely with them as our lives have followed similar paths to theirs, thanks for sharing this with us all, a great story indeed.

It's not easy starting over. I've had to completely start over after a work injury that took multiple surgeries and two years of rehab just to walk again, and had to do it alone. Just never give up, never stop moving forward.

Great story. I soent most of the 90's stationed in great falls. Mare some great friends in Power, MT. I remember driving the missile field around Conrad.

My grandma came from Belgium and my grandpa came from Denmark... her brother had a farm in Conrad... Grandma came with 10 other women & a Catholic priest, I often wonder what she thought when she stepped off of whatever it was the bus, the Train, the boat, and looked at no trees and nothing in the state of Montana and my dad went to school with Gary Cooper in the town next to Conrad

I am not a horseman but, a guy I know, had a wounded horse and dressed the wound daily with ATF and, was impressed with the results!

It’s not just a history. I got a horse from John a week ago and couldn’t be happier. Ruckus kept us on track and I’m proud to count our family as customers of a Montana legend.

This sticks a giant lump in my throat. My story runs along with your folks.

Great story! It reminds me of a saying I heard not long ago but stands so true. “Never criticize a man’s harvest until you know how much seed he has sown.

Most people won’t ever put the work in to get what others have earned. Not many people get ranches or farms “handed” to them. Some time, some where a ton of work had to be put in. Praise the Lord for y’all finding something that helps your father. Going into the abyss of dementia with my dad.

Wonderful story telling Trinity. My Dad had a number of setbacks over his 60+ years in business involving the sales and service of farm machinery. There some nicely profitable years then the "Jimmy Carter" Inflation years hit. I was a teen then and remember the sacrifices too well. He took risks and in time became successful once again. I worked with Dad all those years and learned many things. We had our 'father-son' issues from time to time but our family was solid as rock. Sadly, he passed away three years ago and now, in my retirement I am still helping Mom run the company and she and it are doing well.

I’m actually starting all over for a third time. Some people look down on me but those people looking down on me have never taken a serious risk. I told my dad third time is a charm.

trinity on people helping and giving advice; you see that a lot on youtube. everyone who has not touched a hammer is suddenly a carpenter and points out what you did wrong. pick the subject....it's the same song. and lots of times the youtubers get hurt feelings or angry or bad emotions over someone who is not invested. why do humans allow this? the $1,000,000 question. if we could answer that maybe people wouldn't turn to alcohol to make it feel better. this trinity is a mighty fireside subject. thank you for sharing your family's story. god bless!

I congratulate your parents on their life . They saddled a tough bronc; got bucked off a couple times, got back on, took a deep seat and got life ridden ! Your dad has some hard bark on him and no quit. On doctor'n with penicillin you're right. Those horses don't appreciate a 16 ga needle and rotating injection sites. Thanks for giving us that story. Similar one here. '77 wife & I and 1 child packed up and moved to midwest with a new career. After 2 years it wasn't giving us what I wanted so moved back east. Couldn't even afford to buy back the house we sold (900 Sq Ft) interest rates 16%. Fast forward 40 years and a lot of hard work and net worth is pretty good. Sometimes I feel a little guilty but then my kids remind me of all the stuff I've down over that time.

If my dad didn’t teach I don’t know if we would of made it just farming & ranching. The “game” changed so much in the 80’s and 90’s compared to when grandpa got started. I remember a time in the late 90’s my mom picked up a part time job at the grocery store and painted houses.

Awesome story I don't know who else needed to hear that but I did . I have started over twice from more than broke been on deaths door I and I keep coming back . Thanks for sharing

We all need more stories like this! I too have learned that fear and negativity will lead many people to doubt your ideas. Sadly, this is true of most people. Don’t quit. Keep going. The most successful folks are those that push forward when everyone else thinks they are crazy.

As you shared the story of your parents I couldn’t help but reflect back many years to my run in with some evil conspiring men who stole everything I had. And they got away with it. We never were quite able to fully recover that gargantuan loss but at least we survived. I’ve had friends lose business to evil employees who absconded with everything. It’s heartbreaking to see such things happen to good people. I’m glad your parents survived. We’re about the same age I suppose. My kids are your age. Life is not easy but it seems to be worth the effort to live with integrity and honesty despite what others might do to us. Thanks for this great video!

Oh my gosh, I'm dealing with that with my son right now; it must be a theme with the 20 somethings! It's really hard to explain just how the Carter years were and how little we actually had back then. He doesn't believe that minimum wage was 2.35 or whatever 😂 Thanks for telling us that story!

That there is a great story Trinity. It speaks of the resilience and determination and hardships that people go through in life just to survive. The fact is that we all have suffered from some form or another throughout our lives, what is important is how we get back up and continue on.

Howdy there, just wanna say thank you for sharing this. I guess you could say I’m in the process of where you parents where as far as working in places the didn’t want to to get to an area they want to. I’m currently in the saving process for a horse ranch and some land in Wyoming. I’m getting married here soon to an amazing girl and we are just having a small wedding but we are so thankful to God what He is doing. Appreciate this because this is so encouraging, I’ve kept and kept pushing through to get to my goals and the Lord has been directing my steps slowly so thank you again and really enjoy this channel and the content you put it. We need more cowboy and ranchers in this day and age.
