Love it.....I own a 1981 Chevy Van G10.I just can't understand why people let wonderful and greatly made vehicles sit and sit till rust takes over and you have to restore it. . or drive it.Some people just toss them.Still beautiful....

I own a clean 1991 Chevy G20 StarCraft with the 5.7l V8, I jus did a bunch of work to it new fuel tank, fuel sending unit & filter, full service all fluids, I had to put a windshield in it thats what I do for a living auto glass, I put the old style rubber set windshield I don’t like the glue in they don’t fit right it’s a messy job having to urethane the molding screw all that I jus hooked one in & it looks perfect! Sweet 6.2 diesel man I love it!

A Merc diesel in a Chevy van is very unusual! Good engine choice though since it's a lot more economical than the V8 gasser or the 6.2L diesel that these came out with! It's probably even more reliable than the 6.2 liter diesel!

Is it really so econominal? That small engine need to work really hard and the 6.2 diesel dowsnt drink that muc. 1-1,3 liter per 10 km is worth it for the sound of it.

2:20 you could stick orange bulbs instead of rear lights and make them blink instead of those not good looking square turn lights :) nice van.

@@user-ub1ym7ni2k jeez, I realised the typo on that. I typed that a year ago? I meant to tried to say "old school diesel better than any chevy lump" Might work harder but a German engine with bags of torque should have better mpg than a big lump of pig iron from the 70's.

This one is imported from Sweden. And before sweden its imported from USA but I dont know from where exactly. This chevy van is not mine, owner of it kept it at our place and for now its restored and driving again on road. I would like to own any usa vehicle but they are pretty expensive here.

Yes, atleast these vans were sold new in Sweden and Finland from late 80's to early 00's. Most of them came with 6.2L diesel or 350 TBI (newer vans with 6.5D, 6.5TD and different variations of the 5.7L engine). These were quite a popular sight on the roads for 20 years, but today most of them are no longer used as daily drivers.

It sure does drive nicely, but what an abomination for the sound of an American van! This thing needs the V8 sound! But since the body is rotten anyways, you could still take out that indestructible engine and put it into anything else. That engine will survive another 5 car lives!

that engine sounds like shit. Cant be much savings converting to what I guees is a weak engine. The engine now need to work harder and that means more consumtion. I mean the 6.2 diesel drink about 1-1,3 liter per 10 km. I guess this engine is close to 1 liter per 10 km? maby even more.
