A Blitzkrieg German infantry box is a great way to start any of the Infantry boxes will provide you with the right amount you need to play small level games. Yes the LMG is meant to be a two-man team one operating the gun and one firing. But if the loader dies you're still able to fire the gun just at of penalty. Also I really love the idea of an early War German versus French. I believe warlord only makes metal French but check out War Games Atlantic they provide plastic French

Thank you. Yes, I am definitely going to get the Wargames Atlantic French Infantry. I don't fancy building and painting 30 metal minis. I have also been drawn to the Fall of France early war campaign. It often gets over looked within the wider WW2 history but it alone was a major military campaign, bigger than most wars. I think it is easy to forget just how significant a period it was.

@@MercenaryMiniatures oh no I totally agree I have come to like metal miniatures but I prefer plastic. And war games Atlantic French kit would be perfect for the fall of France, I'm also agree that is very overlooked and extremely crucial to the entirety of the war much like hell people overlook the sinnoh Japanese war
Early war has always been smth tempting. Might get around to it one day

Thank you! that is very kind. I am pleased with how they have turned out. Thank you again.
Just a simple thing to remember is that almost all German infantry squads are 10 man for the maximum number, there might be a few exceptions in the campaign books on that number, but I have looked in my Armies of Germany, Road to Berlin, and Fortress Budapest and they all seem to be 10 man units. How I do my 10 man squads is around 3 SMG's, 1 LMG and the rest rifles then to add anti tank grenades if I can swing the points for them or not. I really have not that much to be able to use as pre Operation Citadel (Battle of Kursk) Germans. Now after that then yes I got a lot that I can bring out including 16 different vehicles everything from a lowly Kettenkrad up to a Jagdtiger. My favorites though is probably the StuH 42, Brummbar, and finally my SD Kfz 251/21 Drilling triple autocannon AAA halftrack. Nothing says infantry be gone than 3 or 4" template of HE or 6 HE dice hits through the autocannons. But for early war and in France you can't go wrong with either a Pz III G or Pz IV D tank. I now have 3 armies for this game that being my 100+ infantry and 16 vehicles for my Germans then my 120 man infantry and 15 vehicles of my Soviets then my small force of US of about 65 troops and 6 vehicles from my armored twin bazooka jeep up to my rare M-36 B1 Jackson tank destroyer. But you did a good job on them.

Hi Chris. Thank you that is really helpful. I didn't know that the squads get maxed at 10 men. I think I was thinking that like 40k you could add to the number of guys and just add more points for them. But at least this now gives me options to swap out LMGs for rifles. Also it is good to know that you are not limited to one SMG per squad. Yes, a Pz III G or Pz IV D tank are definitely going to me on the purchase list!
decals and chevrons are right on sheesh

I’m going down a similar route to you, Early War, but Germans versus Soviets. Like you I’m not a fan of the lack of instructions, I guess the argument is that you can choose to build them as you wish, but it would have been nice to have a suggested build for people new to the hobby. I also didn’t like how the personal equipment is in varied sets, which prevents building a truly uniform set where all the riflemen have a gas mask canister, a bread bag, a water bottle and a bayonet.

Early War Barbarossa was a consideration of mine, and maybe something I will do next. I agree with you on the equipment. It would have been nice to have the option of making infantry that carry all the same equipment.

I was just saying to my friend today, whilst playing Bolt Action in a room full of games of 40k, how It’s a shame that more people haven’t come over from 40k to Bolt Action so I was happy to see this video pop up as a suggestion. This video is a great idea. If you need a British opponent Bristol way then let me know.

Thank you! its a really nice kit to work on. Post some pics when you are done, I would love to take a look.
Nice work. I too, started buying and painting well before I'd fully read the BA#2 ruleset or the Armies of Germany book. Seeing that you built primarily with rifles, this was a good start for early war. If you don't want to purchase a 2nd box, getting an additional sprue or two off a swap and trade site works well. You can work up a few more SMGs for pioneer squads and there are a few good arms provided with binoculars to serve as spotters for the mortar team or your artillery/aircraft forward observer. Other suggestion is that if you eventually move on to buy an Afrika Korps box, they have arms to make multiple prone anti-tank rifle poses which you may like for your France scenario. You can use with the prone Blitzkrieg fellow if you want to avoid buying the separate metal set. When you move on to France, I just built one myself and found that the Warlord metal mix in quite nicely with the Wargames Atlantic plastics. Look forward to your next video.

Thank you Ross. Some great information there. I have been looking at the Wargames Atlantic French, as I prefer plastic to metal for the bulk on my miniatures. I don't mind a bit of metal, but not an army full. What is the size comparison like between Wargames Atlantic and Games Workshop? are they that noticeable.

@@MercenaryMiniatures One other thing I picked up on when building my French army. I started with the Wargames Atlantic box, the Warlord French Infantry Section (1), the Warlord support group, 1 Char B tank, 1 Panhard armored car and 1 47MM Medium anti-tank gun. As construction fatigue was setting in I elected to paint up all inclusive of three 10 man infantry sections. Once I thought I was done, I was informed that with the French you get a free artillery piece. Not $$ free but free to your army list! Just a heads up for when you set out to make your purchases.

Thank you for watching. It really means a lot. Yes, I have heard that the pioneer set has loads of good options. I will definitely take a look.
Germans use at max 10 man squads normally. Early war 1 nco, 1 lmg team ( gunner and loader), and 7 rifles. I was just working on my pioneer box this past weekend. Same plastic frames but metal upgrade box. They give you a lot of bits but almost no army list can take more than 1 squad of pioneers. So likely will make another squad of blitzkrieg guys also.

Hi, if you are looking for scenic tips Luke at "Geek Gaming Scenics" has done some amazing Game boards for Bolt Action, Carentan and Brecourt Manor were my favourites, I'm busy building my armies at the moment, I picked up the Panzer Grenadier Starter Army and the Commonwealth Starter Army first, then decided to add some Para's and, if I was going to add Para's I should really add some Waffen SS, of course with the Waffen SS starter army there are some tanks, So my Brits needed some armour support as well , I'm also planning some 6X4 gaming tables (one per theatre) so there's also the building of them to contend with, I much prefer the laser cut buildings from Sarissa to the plastic ones from Warlord (the walls are a bit thick on the plastic ones) oh and NEW SUB here, you have some great painting skills, I will be following along with your Journey, welcome to deep well of Bolt Action............

is it safe to prime over dried glue residue that i may have gotten on the figure? And mine didn't come with the helmet decals/

Hello, Yes, It is safe to spray over dried glue. If you want, you can always scrap it off with a hobby knife. The helmet decals where bought separately. I got them from Warlord Games directly. They where not that expensive, but where definitely worth it.

@@MercenaryMiniatures ok I was told that the decals should have been included with the box set
"I just got one box of models" yea but this is bolt action so that's an entire army :D I'm confused how you got 34 models, (I havn't had this kit) as it should be 5 sprues of 6 models for a total of 30, if you got an extra sprue, it would be 36, and if you got one extra model per sprue it would be 35? How did the total come to 34 ??
