Starting An Art Business from Scratch- Results & Revenue After One Month

Reflecting on the first month of starting my online art business, lots of lessons were learned but there are lots of little victories to be celebrated!
Green Velvet Creative (www.etsy.com/shop/GreenVelvet...) (www.greenvelvetcreative.studio)
was launched at the end of April, I started my art business from scratch with no existing audience and I want to give a realistic and transparent look into how it performed directly after launching.
There are a lot of thing I could have done differently but I'm so proud of the progress I made and excited to experiment and continue to learn!
If you have any advice, I'm always open to feedback (just remember to be kind)
NOTE: There is a discrepancy between the total revenue reflected in my chart and then what I state when calculating my profit. My guess is that people who ordered from my website but paid with PayPal didn't show up in my website revenue, so I actually made more money on my website than I originally stated in the 'posts, products, & performance' chapter.

It’s so helpful (and inspiring!) to hear about how it’s going early in the journey, instead of only looking back on the early journey down the line. Thanks so much for sharing this!

I really enjoyed watching your video because I've just launched my jewellery business and it feels really nice to get realistic perspective from someone else with a budding creative business. It can definitely feel like you should have everything figured out on day one, that you need to go from 0 to tens of thousands of followers and be selling out. Those are of course ridiculously impossible standards to set for yourself. So I'm also trying to take it easy, be mindful and enjoy each step of the process - while also taking time to rest and reflect when I need to. (Which I have done for several weeks now after launching lol).

Thank you for posting this video, it was really well-thought-out and succinct. I have started many businesses or creative adventures like yourself, usually, I keep the same Etsy shop and just change the name though 🤣 But it was really good to see what your biz made in the first month and to hear your strategy for the up-coming months, will be subscribing to see future updates!

That was a detailed and very fascinating insight you presented regarding your Art business venture. It is almost bewildering at how many threads need to be held regarding the reaching of the right contacts/audience/market, the time spent on these matters - and all this above the actual creating of the artworks in question itself! Truly a balancing act. I am greatly looking forward to the video regarding the completed artwork Fox and Crow. A possible reason as to why your long YT video was a success is (from my viewpoint) that actual artists themselves were watching it in order to better understand your art. I know I did. I wanted to understand the concept, technique, colour harmony, theme, ideas etc. Always one wishes to learn about other's approaches to their art - and this CANNOT be attained with shorter videos. Thank you for uploading this one, I learnt a LOT from it - and wish you success in achieving your set goals. Remember: it is always the ART that counts, and that it give one an inner satisfaction. The rest must be separated from this and placed under the 'business as usual' compartment! 🙂🖌🎨

Thank you so much for your kind words! Very good to know that my longer videos were helpful as tutorials, maybe I'll make more instructional guided tutorials in the future!

I originally clicked on this video with the thought in the back of my mind "I really hope this doesn't make me feel bad about my own art sales." And you opened by telling me exactly what I needed to hear. So thank you for being real and honest ❤
