I haven't been near CS for over a year now due to all the changes and negativity over CS2, and the fact that I had been at it for years. It was time for a break. 😴 This video has definitely lit a little spark and ignited my creativity once more, my friend. You inspired many of my old builds. I'm glad to have your enthusiasm back in my life. 💡🔥

Very interesting idea, DH! Could I give you some suggestions to get it more similar to Rio de Janeiro and brazilian coastal cities in general, within the limitations of CS2? * Add trees to the streets, even the small streets, specially those large ones that will partially cover the street below * If it's possible to keep the map constantly at summer/spring it would be ideal, since the vast majority of trees in Brazil don't turn red and then lose their leaves in autumn/winter (I think there's a map with these properties, but I'm not sure if you can change it once you're done editting the map) * If you want to give these highrises a proper Brazilian look, they should have fences on all sides (except the mixed use ones, obviously) * Copacabana in specific but also Rio de Janeiro in general doesn't really have that many alleys, and when they do they're also full of fences and trees * Most importantly... Brazil has no piers like that at beaches, it's a completely foreign concept to us. The closest to that you'd find is either large kiosks/entertainment centers on the sand itself, next to the seaside avenue (but not suspended - they're on the sandstrip itself - check Copacabana beach on google maps); or a few key buildings, such as an old fort of a modern flashy museum (look for Museu do Amanhã - it's not on a beach but some sub-buildings from the medical/technical universities could work as placeholders for it) * There are a few nice skateparks in Rio de Janeiro and neighbouring cities, but even when they're next to the sea they're not in the beach per se, but on a plaza facing it. I know you're not recreating Rio de Janeiro specifically and you certainly should feel free to create your own city, these are some tips (hopefully implementable in C:S2) that would make it look WAY more brazilian with only a few changes!

Very neat marina and pier there! For that scrub stuff you were after check A$2.20's technique for dropping bushes and the like into the earth and just using their tops. Bonkers but it works a beaut! Very much looking forward to seeing where this build goes...

I'm so pleased cs2 seems to be properly taking off now and my favourite builders like yourself are embracing it. Such a cool build idea, can't wait to see more as you get to grips with the new possibilities

first cities skylines video i’ve watched in a while, like since 2 came out and i felt very burned by it lol. nice to see what you can do in this game with decoration, though i’m more than content to watch you do it lmao

I struggle with height maps also because its been a real struggle getting free data for the UK, after weeks and weeks of searching i have found only one site and that requires a pass to access, which requires your card details, even though it is free, which im not willing to do, so im making my own recreation of my home town by hand and its so far relatively easy by using Image overlay mod and then placing a 4096x4096 image of topographic map and a street map, took a little fiddling getting them both lined up but once i did i put them in the correct folder and then used the mod to overlay the images on the map

one little thing, i am not sure if there is a button to switch between images within the folder so had to place them in the folder one at a time.

Hey, thanks for the awesome video, I’m exited for this new series! I always found all the mods in CS1 to be a bit overwhelming, so i think i’ll give this game a try, as it looks a bit more manageable. Is there a list of mods you are using by any chance? Anyways keep up the great work!
