A lot of islands off the coast of thailand start with Ko or Koh so you could call it Koh Khai which means Egg Island. I’m not thai and i just used google translate so it could be wrong, but i think it works

Looking forward to this new series! I stayed on Koh Samui when i was backpacking around Thailand and it was gorgeous! If i could make a suggestion/request for the future, do you think you could recreate the elephant sanctuary that is there? Some sort of park/zoo area might work maybe? Anyway, it was one of my favourite memory's from being there, it was lovely seeing the elephants hanging out 😊 Either way i can't wait to see where you take this map

Your new city starts are so inspiring. It will be interesting to see in later game play how much micro-managing of the economy will matter or be needed.

Love this city, really beautiful layout. However, with regards to the large brick path leading to the car park, may I suggest you narrow it, or add bollards, because in real life, people would so drive down it 🤣

I'm with you on removing the tile maintenance. Really liked seeing this...feels a lot more CS because you have to manage the budget in the early game. Of all the details, my fav is the path in the residential/cul-de-sac neighborhood. You ripped through placing it Nad the game made it look normal. Super cool.

Was waiting for this so badly❤❤.......also a suggestion to make the hill near the beach to be like a seperate island ( like carve a bit of land and join the island and the main land with a small bridge ) where u can place a villa of some important city admin.....

Great to see a new OE city, have followed all of yours in the past and learnt lots (learnt a couple of things about Tree Controller already from this episode alone). Have you considered using Zoning Toolkit to control which roads buildings spawn against? I use it all the time - it's not 100% perfect (it has to be used before you start spawning anything or it doesn't work) but has its uses. Skyve says it is incompatible with Move It but I've never had an issue with them clashing.

Verrry nice start Egg! Those riverbed/bank textures from Sully layer to make some beautiful things possible (use the decals too); same goes for the beach, which I can't wait for you to have fun with. Wee tip on the tree lines: set your line tool to random *rotation* to lose the "Send in the Clones" look that you can get with a whole bunch of identical assets perfectly aligned. It's the icon toggle next to the one that looks like Stonehenge, not the random icon for colour variations. I guess a couple more additons to the Egg Box will be required then... and possibly to even publish it to Pdx?

Egg, you can use terrain tools to make a deep pit and place your sewage output into the pit. When you build the treatment plant in your city, delete the output pipe and level the terrain like nothing happened. No gross water pollution.

I took your advice and started playing Sumui Island as well! Great minds.... :) If I may make a mod suggestion. Would you be adverse to adding TDW's Toggle mod to the set? It really does help with accessibility. Many thanks and excited for more.

My suggestion is Benedict Isle. That way people can promote it with flair. "Hey!, have you checked out Egg's Benedict Isle series?" It's catchy enough to work.

I really don't like the tile upkeep. They should add an option to disable it, without unlocking all of the tiles, or downloading the mods. After the update, the first few hours are not that pleasant. I know it shouldn't be too easy, but I think they went way too far with it 😅

How long does it take for him to notice he put the bushes on top of the trees rather than on the ground?

The fell kind of reminds me of Castlehead here in Keswick. The city looks lovely already. The new patch is really screaming for me to buy the game, but I don't think it's compatible with the software I have in my pc, and i can't justify buying a new pc for the sake of one game just yet.

It would be very interesting if you could change some trees on the map to tropical trees. Maybe this would make it more realistic. But its still very good. :D

For some reason, find it, and the drawable surface tool won't load into my game. With the surface tool, the beach assets show up but not the ones with the concrete and bricks. Any idea why these two mods are not showing up? Oh, there is a mod for smaler utilitiy buildings. I use a tomb to start off with. So much cheaper. Also, use the smaller PD and FD buildings. There are others.

I thought I was going insane, for all new-ish and small cities there is 0 commercial demand as soon as the starter demand has been satisfied as the modifiers aren't working. I tried turning off all mods, starting a new city, going back some saves but nothing. I came to this video as this is the only starter city by a big youtuber in this same patch and it looks like it has the exact same problem, as soon as the starter commercial demand is satisfied at 25:50 , it goes away and never comes back again. Will be interesting to see if it comes back in the next episode from egg.

I appreciate your point but imo, the tile upkeep is a total shite mechanic that nobody asked for and I wouldn't surprised if it's eventually patched back out of the game. It's something I'll never play with 👍

None, 4gb of vram from 2016 isnt enough for stable performance. Game have big impact on CPU as well and u didnt mentioned which one you have.

Thats why im looking to upgrade. ( I knew it was coming i wanted to save cash when i was upgading whole PC so left gpu out)

@@Kayambo974 hmmm. Try using Skyve as your mod manager and launcher, it'll detect any clashes for you. There could be a bug but I used them with no issues. Failing that, is trim your mods right down and add each one back one at a time till you find the culprit

I had big problems with none of my mods loading with the new Economy 2.0 Patch. Resolved because some of the old mods (Gooe, Dependancy Pack and Legacy Flavour for example) leave files on the computer even if you reload everything from scratch. You need to go to C:\\Users\[Your User name]\AppData\LocalLow\Colossal Order\Cities Skylines II open any folders with 'Mod' in the title (I have four on my computer) and delete any folders for mods you are no longer using. This worked for me and got all my mods back (including Find It and Move It). Cannot help if you are on a Console I am afraid.

All the main content creators on KZread struggled with the costs of tile upkeep. In the game, as in real life, if you take things from the economy, it will have an impact on the margins of the other things that depend on it. I would love to see a “city start” episode that takes the economy seriously so we can really see how it works.

I agree. It would be nice to see someone tackle the E2.0 with a fully vanilla game. No mods. Might be a bit too early for that as there are not enough assets to support it?! Finally, it would be a nice thing to see not just for the tutorial of doing it all vanilla but also a way to bridge to future console players who will most likely be getting the game soon. I understand, fully; why the creative license was chosen by most of the Creators. These tools are practically essential QOL tools to build cities that look distinct and have their own personalities.
