KC is by far the best! I have used it from the very beginning. I would not be as skilled as I am without it.
I have knit companion but didn’t realize all these features! Awesome, thank you.
Feeding the algorithm. Love knit Companion. It isn't very intuitive but once you learn how to use some of the features it's a game changer.
I use KC all the time, but I had no idea the calculator was on there! Wow! Mind blown! Can’t wait to implement this! Yay!
I've been using KC for several years and am so happy to see your videos on it so that I can learn more of KC's hidden depths. I was excited to see that I could link a video to the pattern and to see that you have a link to android way to do this. Thank you so much for going through this as part of the process of actually knitting a pattern. It's so much more helpful to have complicated things put into perspective. I'm ooking forward to watching more of your KC tutorials.
Omg! I can’t believe you actually said the exact same thing I do. I though it was me being just a little you know odd. Like I love to knit by my yarn stash cabinet so I can knit and look at all my gorgeous yarn and dream about what I will knit next. Yes I did think I was a little odd by doing that. But I know now that a lot of knitters do that too. I call it your true LOVE for knitting. It is my therapy for sure. Thanks so much for making me feel yay I am normal! LOL! 🧶❣️
I love Knit Companion so much, I got the paid version. I forgot where to save videos, so thanks for that.
Great video on knitCompanion. I purchased it once the price went down. I just couldn’t see paying 35.00 (or more) annually. Once I saw that the price went down to being reasonable I jumped on it. It is a wonderful tool. I am still learning. I also like that I can use my phone to get to my projects in progress.
I knew I wasn't using knit Companion to its full capacity but wow, I have to dig in and get this figured out. Thanks for the help
As a retired high school mathematics teacher, I enjoyed your Algebra comment. Any time I used a similar calculation, I would mention it to all my students no matter the class. You never know when it will come in hzndy.

Algebra makes me cringe as an adult lol
I agree, preparing for a sweater or fitted garment is paramount. Logging measurements, drawing your own schematic, taking into account the ease, and matching gauge as best as possible are some very important things to do before starting.
Wow!! That calculator is magical!!
Thank you Natalie, so, so helpful!
Thank you for all the information, i am looking forward to your progress on this sweater.
Been using knitCompanion for a while, the free version. I’m thinking to upgrade. I started quilting and I’m using it for that as well 😂👌
Thanks for the information you had in this video. I like to go through the PDF with a highlighter on my size everywhere. I also highlight areas that I'm prone to accidentally skim, like certain decrease zones etc. It helps a lot.
Magic loop is such a game changer. I just purchased a complete set of dpn’s sized 0-13. Already time to give them away.
Extremely interesting and helpful.
I love spending time with my stash! I have been admiring Prismatic for a while, I might knit along with you 🤩 I finally finshed Shawlography and a sweater this week. I need a new project!

🤯 I use and love knitCompanion. This vid taught me some awesome new things I didn’t know about! Thx Natalie. 😊
Loved this video. I have had the app for awhile but learned several new things from this video.
I love the knitCompanion app so much and always enjoy your tutorials for it. Thank you for sharing your tips!
If I’m feeling down sometimes I will take my nicest yarn and put it on my bed and lay with all the squishy goodness lol so just looking at it is definitely not that weird
I use the free version on knitCompanion on my iPhone and I love it (mostly because it’s portable)
Thank you so much! This was so much more helpful than the Very Pink Knits tutorials!
wow....this was so helpful. I am downloading now and will be trying this!!!!
I love the calculator! I just did a round yoke with multiple increases so I went in and used the calculator to do them, copied them all to the project and then created row reminders in the chart. It was magical.
Fantastic Natalie! Thank you so much. I’m struggling with my sweaters ending up huge so I’ll look into Knitting Companion
Thanks for doing this video. I have just started using knit companion and this helps so much!
Love the info Natalie, hope you do more of these.
Thanks Natalie, I always have my iPad and knitCompanion just love it. I'm always learning something new with your podcast. So glad I have this application.
Great tutorial thanks Natalie ❤️ look forward to seeing your sweater develop
Oh my gosh! This tutorial is invaluable for me! So many steps in starting a sweater…some that I’ve rushed thru to get to casting on! You made the work involved seem like fun. Especially with KC! 😘🧶
Thank you so much for this very informative video Ive had knit companion but really don't use it, now I feel more comfortable, Iv'e bookmarked this!
This was a very useful tutorial!
Great video! I have been using the Knit Companion for several years and never looked into these features. Thanks so much!
I love looking at my stash when it's all nice and pretty lined-up :)
I might have to give Knit Companion a try. I'm trying to knit a cabled sweater and it's got several charts on different pages, it seems like this might make it easier to tackle.
EXCELLENT! Thank you so very much, this is SO helpful. I’ve had knit companion for a couple of years now but didn’t realize it could do all these things. I will refer back to this video again and again, thank you!
Wow! I love this. I have used KnitCompanion for a while, and absolutely love it. You taught me so many new things about this that make me appreciate it even more. Thank you!
Thanks for such an informative video! I’m just starting to use knit companion for more things. That calculator is going to be so useful! Can’t wait to see your sweater. I am anxiously awaiting yarn to come to make the criterion by wool and pine. Love their patterns too!
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve had this for years and can’t figure it out
I would never be able to be productive in your apartment - I would just keep staring at the beautiful view 🤣 what a dream!
This was such a super video, full of so much information and you're right, there's a lot of stuff that goes into sweater knitting that you just have to gradually figure out over time (by messing up and frogging, in my case!).
Perfect timing! I just downloaded the ap and needed this informative video. 😊
Great video! I love knit companion! I use the smart counters for complicated row repeats too. It will set up its own little counter for that section which keeps me on track. I also cut out the charts and blow them up using the highlight to keep my place.
Hi Natalie. I just love using KC. I was a hardcore paper girl, but KC is so easy and so much better. For $9.99 a year, you can't beat it. I suggest anyone interested should check out Very Pink Knits playlist for all her KC videos. Thanks for this video.🌸🌿🌺🐝

I saw your comment and was like wow, $9.99’s not bad, then went to check and it is now $29.99 a year. I might stick to the free version
I just downloaded this last night to help with my latest cast on. Great timing!
This was a fun and informative post! I too love staring at my yarn imagining what I will do. I heard of this app and it definitely will try it
Wow!! Thank you so much for this video!! I have been contemplating for awhile about starting to knit sweaters but have been too scared!! Now I feel like I could actually knit one!! Also the KC app looks amazing, I won't have to carry around papers of my pattern anymore!! 👍🏻
This is such an informative podcast! Thank you, Natalie, for all the hard work you put into this!!
Great tutorial. I have often wondered about KC and am strongly considering downloading. You also make me want to join you in knitting a color work sweater. thanks again for sharing.
This was extremely helpful, thank you!
Wow so helpful, you make great videos. Thank you!!!
This was such an interesting video to watch!
Such a great video! So many good tips and tricks for me to try out with my next sweater cast on! I know you've touched on this in previous videos but I'd love to see a video on how you set up a timeline to get your sweater projects done by a certain deadline! (I know you mentioned briefly in one of your podcast episodes about doing this with your Seaglass Tee but again, if you ever have plans for it, a dedicated video for it would be amazing!!)
I loooooove KC!!!!
Lol, when you were showing the Lusuosso pattern and how to attach the video link, the picture on the page was my test knit and face! 😂 It was so weird seeing that!
I finally switched from paper patterns to KC and it’s so easy to use! I may upgrade to the paid one to get all the features
Very helpful!!
Such a great video thank you! I have never looked into knit companion but I will now. I just asked myself, how can I be knitting with out it? All your tips and information was amazing. The sizing info is great, I have a sweater that I didn't take the time to size properly and now will rip it out and start over using your 'ease' recommendations. Looking forward to seeing the sweater develop.
Gotta say this was an awesome tutorial! I’ve had knit companion for a couple years but not really used it. I ran to get my iPad to start using it on my next project. It would be great if there was also a way after you put in all your info, to calculate yardage based on the yarns yardage so you know exactly how much you need to use or buy. Great tutorial!! And as a math teacher, bravo on using algebra! Should use this in class as an example!
Hello from Mounds Illinois!
Super video. Thanks
That looks so useful.. would kc work with adjusting a male sweater pattern for female body? Loved watching your shopping vlog for shawlography
I would love to make a sweater, what is a good pattern to get for a beginner to knit a sweater? ( I’ve knitted, hats, scarves, and socks) I am ready to learn to knit a sweater! Thanks for sharing, I am excited to try to knit something new!
If you keep your stash logged in ravelry you can enter the weight after you use it and it will automatically calculate you leftover yardage based on weight. No math necessary.
Thank you. I always wanted to know why I would bother with another app but now I’m thinking I need it and an iPad, 😆
Thank you for all the useful information, I'm just starting to use Knit Companion so I definitely learned a lot! I can't wait to see how your Prismatic turns out. A weird question....where did you get your pink slippers? I love them :)
How did you do the circling of your size on your pattern? I don’t know how to find that highlighter/pencil to circle with? Thanks!
I don't use an ipad but on pcs and androids you can screen record. It would be perfect for showing your ravelry.
What scale do you use to weigh your yarn? I had one but it broke and it didn’t always work the best.
thanks for the video, but I wish you had talked about how all these features are only available in the paid subscription :(
I’m willing to just try KC free part for the first time, and I cannot get a pattern I have in dropbox to show up in the KC app the folders from dropbox are showing but nothing inside the folders and I cannot figure out what to do nor who to get help from -can you help please?
The calculator is it in the upgrade only. Is the another app to just use the calculator
Where are you take your tshirt (excuse my english because i speak french)
I have had knit companion for years but rarely use it as I get confused 😐
What version ipad are you using?
Just multiple by .44 since it is 44% of 100g. 8-)
I strongly dislike this app and feel like the creators are ripping their customers off. Not only is it clunky and limited, but they require an expensive subscription every year to supposedly improve it, which they really do not. Use notability if you have an iPad. Works 100% better and a one time fee.
