Another good tip is that commercial zone aren’t suppose to fill an entire street otherwise you will get the not enough customer, just like in real life, you can have a commerce on a corner street and then houses next to it, on a big boulevard I tend to also have 4-5 bossiness next to each other, the game also does a very good job of telling you where most of the shopper are, or where you are lacking. So let’s say if you make a grid of 224meters by 224 make sure to have two commercial zone (one zone is 6x6 or make it a 4x4) and so on, not only is this going to make your cities more realistic but also make the citizen wealthy, as they would walk to the store rather than take their car, and try to make neighborhoods from the start, don’t build a medium density low rent apartments building in an area that are only houses lol, make a ghetto neighborhood preferably close to the industry to make it more realistic!! That’s just me, I try to plan like my job in real life, but you can do whatever you want. Just know that land value impacts rent and when rent is high you have more demand for medium density housing. The game is designed to build large(as compared to CS1 which was to build tall) so don’t be afraid to use your imagination and be like on this area is nice to build townhouse in a row, you don’t need to be grid perfect! Hopes this helps!!

40:30 Just wait a little while, and you'll be able to place the mansion at that spot. If you zoom in very closely, you'll probably see a small amount of shimmering of water on the ground. Extending the ground into the river, will just make the problem worse, as every time you do that, water will splash onto the ground. In C:S, this was very visible, not so much in the new game. A nice little trick that I found to be working sometimes, is to save the game, close, then restart. The water resets, at least if the problem is tiny, like in your case.

I don't usually comment on anything but it's so weird to see you building on the map I live on (Tampere). The existing highways and railroads are inspired by how they really are here as well. The railroad cuts through Tampere and curves to the west just like on this map. The underground highway is also a thing and its exactly where it is in real life. Even the river in the middle flows to the right direction and the little island in the middle of it is also real. It's been really funny to think that I live right next door to where this game was made. I could connect to Colossal Orders wifi from my apartment if I knew their password (obviously not trying) Oh yea lol they obviously made the Finnish summer a thing in Cities Skylines as well. It's always raining sideways

In looking at the map, the river (as rivers do) starts at a higher elevation than it ends, which might have been partially to blame for sea walls wanting to be more finicky than on other maps.

ain't gonna lie. I got so frustrated with getting clean zoning from laying out roads--I got frustrated and played CS1. I'll have to keep practicing I guess

The grid patterns are so out of shape... if anyone else has issues, only activate "snap to 90° angles" to align your main grid and be smoother with consistent zoning!

They removed half of the maps

40:30 Just save game and load game again, terraforming problem solved after that :D It's the only workaround I know for that bug.

NICE CONTENT!!! Only thing I would like to add is that avoid 4 way intersections and swap them with T intersections and roundabouts as they handle traffic well.

Roads have water pipes, you don't need to place additional water pipes for your pump station since you need a road anyway unless you want redundancy...which is good. Also, how is a pump station cheaper than a water tower, makes no sense to me

I doubt it. People on the CS subreddit were complaining how rhe game runs poorly even on generally good PCs, so I'd recommend getting a better GPU and at least 16gB of RAM

Its pretty tricky. Don't forget to raise your road to 2.5m and I find it works best if you smooth the edge a little bit.

So I’ve started a city and I have two questions. First off, I have about 10,000 people and I’m still loosing a lot of money. Any tips? And in that same city I’ve unlocked both medium density types but I am still only getting low density demand. Literally no medium density demand (along with no commercial or office) Any ideas why?

Hmm.. Do you have too many services? Are your taxes too low? Hard to say without seeing your city. But I recommend checking out my tutorial on the official Cities Skylines channel on How To Play Your City where I cover a lot of the game's economics. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much!! I tried deleting some unnecessary services and that helped a bit but still loosing about 5000 an hour. I think I expanded too quickly and I wasn’t strategic with my economic growth. I’ll check out your video right now though! Hopefully it can bring my mess of an economy out of the gutter 😂

for me this game in that state it's not worht it. I have Ryzen 7800X3D and RTX 4090 and there is 25 fps with 10k population. Optimalization is mess. Game looks like its released 10 years ago. I lost money, I will try to refund. Disaster.
