There are some running around imported from the US. The analogy with the Sierra/Scorpio isn't a good one because, aside from the logo, everything is different: the Sierra and Scorpio were German-made, rear wheel drive, and had different engines (the Cologne V6s). The Taurus is front wheel drive, had a US V6 (don't remember the name) and they were bigger cars than those two.

Those 3.0 v6 motors are one of the easiest motors to work on as well as rebuild.
The interior held up very well for a 30 year old car the seats are in almost brand new condition
What a lovely station wagon! Teenage dream of mine 😊.
Very rare in Europe I would say never seen in France and even my father

They were never officially sold in Europe. But some were imported and back in the 90s i even met a guy who had a Taurus, a baby-blue one. All i remember is that he complained about the prices for spareparts as they had to be ordered especially for him - and there was not much the local Ford dealer could do for him as they had no documents of the Taurus.

It has the classic Ford power steering pump noise!

My dad had a 1992 mercury topaz with the 3.0 v6. That engine was one of Ford's better ideas!
One of my favorite american cars. This is also one of my dream cars. Good job saving it.👍
I have a Taurus SHO over here in Norway, in process of bringing it back on the road. Man Taurus in any shape are mega rare in Europe. Hope this one gets back on the road.

Whoah! That is a big one this time! #SaveTheWagons. It looks a lot like the 80's Ford Boats Wagons in the North American market (at least for me). Very cool!

@@lblb24 They were fancy for the time. The Scorpio I think was more midsized within the US market, while the Taurus was more full sized. The closest sibling to the Mondeo in the US was the Ford Contour/Mercury Mystique in the late 90s, then the Fusion in the mid 2000's.

I have never seen this type of Ford. Looks really good!
1987 Ford Taurus L.That was the base model back then,They looked so slick when they were introduced in late 1985.Weak transmissions but Vulcan 3.0 engine was a workhorse.
i always wondered, what do you do with these cars afterwards? i've seen some videos where the cars were absolutelly done, so for those i believe it was mainly for entertainment, but what about the ''decent'' ones? i absolutelly love your videos by the way, i've watched almost all of them, i found it very educational and relaxing 😃❤

Me gusta como revisaste los frenos tío.
They came with 2 engine choices 3.8 v6 and 3.0 v6 i had a 1993 3.0 and no problems usually my friend had a 3.8 v6 and head gasket problems but capable of high mileage though

But that V6 is going to last a nuclear fallout as well, they specifically made new V6 engine for this car, where they did very thorough tests for it so that it was to be as reliable as possible. And it was. This thing is like a tank.

I've been searching for a 1986 Ford Taurus LX wagon for over 5 years. I want to one day restore one. Had a chance to snag a clean white LX trim 86 wagon in Portland Oregon in 2019 but my dad got in the way and I've had no luck since then. I find the Gen 1 SHOs pop up for sale regularly but I'm not looking for one of those. I'm in several Taurus groups, nobody can help me find what I'm looking for. The wanted ads I put up don't work either. I hope I can find that medium canyon red optioned LX wagon soon.
Its quite funny that the American's hated the Sierra and hated the MK3 Granada but loved it when Ford took the Granada size and specs and skinned it with Sierra like body panels and called it the Taurus lol Always amazed me the American's refused the 2.9 Cosworth powered Granada's, a motor that could leave any US police car in the dust and handled like it was on rails at speed...
Very nice video!😁
