STARTER LOCS TUTORIAL: TWO STRAND TWISTS {KIESHA ARIELLE}
STARTER LOCS TUTORIAL: TWO STRAND TWISTS {KIESHA ARIELLE}
What's good guys?! So sorry for the delayed upload today I swear I need to get my laptop fixed, nonetheless as the saying goes: "Better Late than Never".
In today's video I would love to share with you how I started my Loc Journey by demonstrating on my son's hair. Yes, he too has begun his journey and I can hardly wait to see how they blossom.
I am using the exact methods I used when starting my locs, so this will give you an insight on my parting pattern and loc method which I have spoken on many times. I intend to maintain his locs the same way I do mine, as you would have seen I use the same moisturizing technique when prepping his hair.
You will also see how I secure my roots in the beginning which helped with keeping my starter locs looking neater for longer (interlocking). If you are interested in purchasing the latch hook crochet needle I used to interlock then click this link:

His hair looks soft and easy to manage I think that’s why he didn’t seem bothered
I've had my locs for three years. Best choice yet. Mines was started as Two Strand Twist as well. I'm doing my two and three year old hair the same way too.
I really enjoy your videos. You're the best I've seen. I started my locs in Feb 2018 and, like you, I started with 2 strand twist. After watching you and following your videos, I have been ableto interlock my twist, so now they look much neater. Thanks. I will continue watching.

Omg sis I loved this video! Like thoroughly enjoyed it! You are there now! Ok KZread GURU!!!
You are amazing. This tutorial was the best. Clear explanation and great visual. I think I can start these on my hair with much confidence. Thank you.
I love the way you did his parts.
Man..Good ole times...I remember when my mom use to try and break me neck when twisting my hair..🤗Great Job sis
Omg.. thank you for the easy how to.. my daughter is 12 and been wanting locks for a long time... I'm not very good with hair but after watching your video I cant wait to do her hair.... thank you so much
Oh man! When you were moving his head around that brought back so many memories! I remember those days so well. Thanks for the video! My whole family either has or has had locs at some point. But my sister wants to start hers again and I needed a good tutorial on how to start them for her. Thanks for sharing!
Great Early Awakening, good job mama, you were so patient with him, and let me thank you ever so gratefully for how you helped simplify this as best as possible! I'll began my princess starters later this morning !

Ouch!😫 It’s good that he’s not tender-headed. 👍🏽 I will try this on myself, thanks!😊
He is soooooo adorable 😍😍 he looks so snuggly and cute in his jammies ♥️ great job mommy!!
This boy won my heart 💙, he understood the assignment, so adorable
I love your son's hair! I found your channel this morning and watched a few videos because I just started my youngest son's locks earlier this week. He has 45 locks too. I used similar parting for his hair and I plan to interlock the roots for security. Your locks are awesome, too BTW. :-)
This really helped me a lot because I never knew you could tighten the roots by doing that I always thought it works just by twisting it
Yes he was a trooper. 😃 I love it! Thanks for sharing.
His hair looks so good any mom would be proud so handsome 👶🏾
I think I will start my daughters locs from watching the video you did with you son. You made it look so easy. I'm not good at doing my own hair. I can't see what I'm doing. So I will have someone else start mine. Thinking about doing videos as well now.
mi love di pickney deh, very strong soul fi him dread lock..and lot credit Kiesha, best tutorial ever learnt thanks...
Thank you for this video as my kid wants dreads. This is the best method I feel comfortable doing. We're excited to start.
Best interlocking vid
Great work momma! He looks like he enjoyed it some people love hands in their hair. You two are the cutest! I did my two strand twists two weeks ago and several slipped at the roots I am going to go back and fix them with your technique thanks Keisha! ❤️

Kiesha Arielle thank you! I don’t really want to continue interlocking I’ve seen that the locks are not a soft as twisted ones. I have mixed hair that behaves both like Caucasian and African American hair so while my twisted ends are holding I now have about 5 inches at the root that are no longer twisted after two weeks and no tangling yet so I’m going to wash deep condition comb out and start fresh ❤️
They're so freaking awesome
Lol! He is a trooper. My mum is like that with my hair and I’m like that with my sons hair. Looks rough but you know they good haha. He’s beautiful 😍
This is beautiful. I love it. Well done.
Yes! This is such a great video!!
Thanks for the Tutorial!!!❤️
That baby did great!! Love this video
These are beautiful and very good and clear instructions. Im about to do mine and this is just what i was looking for. Thank you.
So adorable! Welcome to the loc family handsome!
I love how u started his locs, because u didn't use a ton of product in his hair. I will be using your method when I do mine
That crochet tool is so cool.
I had no idea I could interloc when starting locs. This makes starting my journey much less intimidating😏 Thank you for sharing. Shalom (Peace) 🤗

This helped me so much! I started my son with braided loca, but they just don’t want to agree with his 2b/3c/4a/4b hair. But I am going to loosen them and try the two strand and interlock his roots this time. I am an aspiring loctician, so this is very informative for me.

He is Perfect!
Great job. I'll be starting my daughters locs in a week or so. I considered braidlocs. But I think I will two strand twist them. I'll start it off by braiding at the roots. And taking a needle and black thread to hold the ends from unraveling. He did a great job at sitting still!!

@@kieshaarielle yes☺. I need advice. My twin daughters are turning 9 next month. They have 4c texture hair. I'm going bananas trying to learn and under the differences between all the different locs and what would be best for them. I'm trying to teach them how to love themselves as they are. Girls are teasing them at school about their hair🙁. I don't want them to think something is wrong with their hair because it's not straight or curly. Basically I'm trying to choose what is best for them to start their hair/spiritual journey. I've came across coil twist, braid locs, two strand twist. I don't know which to choose from.

he's so cute your son ty for showing me how to twist.d
I've been wondering how to start locs... i keep being told i would have to cut my hair first but this method would allow me to keep my length...Thx
That is a very great job. I've done locs on my own hair before with the crochet but not in that way. I'm curious about how to retwist them once the hair is growing a couple of inches

Amazing... My 3yrs old daughter she s mixed too, got little spiral curls. I tried senegalese twist on her and its not unravel after days becomes a free form dread but she never stay sit for so long time, after a 5 min start to be like stop don't touch my hair.. I just can do a row or 2 in the back of her neck...
I love it I’m gone try on my 10 year old only thing his back not long what do I do for that
Looks very nice. So after after a couple of weeks you would just twist the root right?
