COMB OUT LOCS IN 20 MINUTES WITHOUT CUTTING YOUR HAIR {LOC TUTORIAL}

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Today I will be sharing a loc tutorial on how to remove your locs without cutting your hair. Like some of you, I never knew that combing out locs was possible. I used to think the only way to end your loc journey was by cutting your locs; but that is not true. You can comb out your locs and have a lot of length retention of your natural hair.
In this video, you can expect to learn how you can comb out locs in 20 minutes without cutting your hair or damaging your hair, what you need to comb out your locs, how long it takes to comb out locs and how much hair you can expect to lose after combing out your locs; when ending your loc journey.

    Thank you for this! My daughter came to me and said she didn’t want her locs anymore and it saddened me, but I came across your video and her locs take about 20-25 minutes each and her hair is 6 inches longer than the locs! Her hair is literally almost touching her butt. She has a looser curl pattern but the shrinkage is real! And was loc’d almost 2 years. Not much hair loss and very healthy hair. I appreciate you, your method worked well for us. 🖤 I’ll remember this when I’m ready to take my own down!

    Aww Brendan, I am so sorry to hear that your mother isn't onboard with you combing out your locs. Did she start them for you? I remember starting my 15 year olds locs when he was 4...at the age of 9 he wanted to cut them. It was difficult for me, but I did it. Maybe she is finding it difficult to let go. But, as a mother myself with a 15 year old, I wouldn't advise that you try overriding her rules. Have you considered asking her if you can comb them out yourself? Maybe if she sees that you are able to do it, she possibly would feel inclined to help you 😊 And you can reassure her that you can always restart your loc journey

Now, I feel "somewhat" at ease. N.ow that I know that I can......... or somebody can take them down for me. Maybe I will give this a try THIS SUMMER for the VERY FIRST TIME 🤔

The only thing is I would have to do it myself and I have around 138 dreads and the longest is 13 inches. Wish me luck! Update: I took it out my hair is longer than they were in dreads, I saved a lot of dreads and my mom didn’t talk to me for a good 3 weeks before she cane to terms with it.

    Hey guys! This will be my third time doing this and the best advice I can think of, is don't lose your patience. You might even want to consider taking them out in a flattering pattern so that you can still wear it in public halfway through the process. If you lose patience then you lose all your hard work of combing them out in the first place and you'll end up wishing that you had just cut them. The first time I did it, I lost my patience and my shoulder length dreads ended up being half an inch long😭😭 it was a nightmare. So take your time and don't lose patience.

And he was ready to start over but didn't want to burden anyone with taking his hair out, and was just going to cut. His hair means alot to him and I would've hated to see that I happen, I came across this video and it has helped a ton! It takes about an hour for loc for him because of how flat and large they are so it's a multiple day process. Hello. I know this is an old video , but I'm so pleased that it came up when I searched how to comb out dreads or wicks. I'm in my mid 60s and I'm still as tender-headed as a toddler. I cut my long hair off about 4 and a half years ago to go natural. It wore it very short for a couple of years then decided to grow it out. I have arthritis in my hands and it flared up very bad I the past few weeks. I would just brush it into an afro puff only combing it through when I washed it. I found that I had a few dreads. I really needed a painless way to comb them out. THANK YOU so very much for your tutorial. I bought a pin tail comb and now they're all all gone...painlessly. Your knowledge is truly inspiring. ❤

    I’ve had loccs 3 TIMES!! And, I’ve combed them out myself once, (my last time). My 1st and last time were my favorite times of having them. The first time I kept them 4 years, (wish I had combed them out then) but nooo I cut them and started completely over. I think I may invest in making this a service. 😊🤷🏽‍♀️💜

    Thanks for teaching me how to take out dreads bc I am making a bipoc character who is black and has dreads and I want a scene where he asks his love interest to help him with taking out his dreads so he can redue them for a special occasion bc they grew out and he hasn’t done them in a bit. He can do it himself but reaching in the back is harder to do and he rather not just blindly do them in the back of his head. I know it’s pretty cliché for me to have two lovers help each other with something but I like to think it’s a nice way for both of them to feel more comfortable around one another.i am white so sadly I didn’t know how it all works but I wanted to know so I can put it in my story the way you are supposed to do it instead of the wrong way. So thanks you helped a lot. You are doing great! Thank you for your content

    I have a bunch of lint towards the back of my locs and I’ve tried everything but it’s still there. I realized it was really embedded in my loc. I’m planning to comb out the locs with serious lint and then re-loc them afterwards. Unfortunately when I started my locs I wasn’t so much aware of products I should use and not use. A lady with locs helped me start my locs and she uses a certain beeswax product. Which was the worst mistake ever. I used it for several months before realizing it was a bad idea. I don’t want to cut the back of my locs, so I hope the method of combing out will help ❤

Many had hug mats of hair because they had been out and ungroomed for over a year. I used this exact technique.

    I’m combing out my locs today. I have had them for 14 months and they look terrible. I got them professionally done every 4-6 weeks and they would look good for 4 days but I could not retain moisture. They are still very loose in the front and the sizing is all over the place. They are always frizzy and just look bad. I tried to be patient like everyone says but I just don’t think I have the curl pattern for it. I have S waves. It probably won’t take long to comb them out because it looks like they want to come out anyway. Oh well. I’m still glad I tried it

    Well, I'm pretty sure this video debunks that idea lol Mine and my son's hair have been thriving. @@norudesallowed2339 The hair that is falling out is dead hair that naturally leaves your scalp with or without dreads. It just doesn't have anywhere to go cause it's trapped in the loc. That doesn't mean the rest of your hair isn't growing and staying healthy.
