Bro I gotta tell you, You are probably one of the biggest reasons I now am a Cloud Engineer. Until about 6 months ago I was a 3D Artist, at a Studio that is going to be shut down next month. But during the Pandemic and Lockdowns I watched ALOT of your videos (your Docker is what hooked me). And Since then I dove deeper and deeper down the rabbit hole. I went from just being a 3D artist, to being a Homelabber, to being the Studio Manager/IT Specialist, and Now I'm a Security+ and Azure Fundamentals Certified Cloud Admin! Where did you get the sweater?!?!? It’s so cool!!!!!
Can you also make a video/short with a quick rundown of what employers are looking for? How important is your degree? How important are certifications? Can you go with one without the other? How beneficial is having a portfolio/portfolio website? Much much experience do you need and what jobs can you expect to start with in your career?
Good video only thing I would add is after linux to learn a cloud. Either AWS or Azure. Then start coding

Good afternoon, Sir. I came across your TikTok video discussing CompTIA A+. I'm looking to make a career switch and have always had a keen interest in technology. I want to kickstart my journey by earning IT certifications, starting with CompTIA ITF. Could you provide me with information on where to begin and recommend study materials to prepare for the exam? I'm from Aruba.
Love your videos and information❤
Cheat code: go straight for Security+ and build a home lab. Build an ATS compliant resume with a project portfolio. Conduct resume spraying of 20-40 positions per week. Connect with local pros. Do not drop persistence. _It can be done_

Or build a foundation with A+ and Net+ like the tried and true way instead of starting by looking for cheats or fake knowledge.
Your inclination towards infosec made you add security+ in the list

Yeah there is no way youre gonna pass sec+ without the knowledge in net+. Unless you want to memorize a bunch of things you are gonna forget. Just follow CompTIA plan of a+ to net+ to sec+

I was able to pass Sec+ without doing either first. I was able to take an online course for it. A lot of the questions I struggled with on the Sec+ test were absolutely networking questions and am going through Net+ now to get a better understanding of it. I would feel more confident about my knowledge though having done it the other way around!

Will A+ even get you a helpdesk job? You'd get more relative experience building a computer, or better yet taking one apart for free. The only time I've seen A+ was on a 2LT email signature, and he wasn't in a technical role. I advised him to remove it until he got relevant certs.

I just been saying im going to study more on Linux just for foundation knowledge. Im A+ Certified already going for Network+, Security+ and CySA+. For the Security side you WANT Linux knowledge for execution. If you not specifically going for a field as Linux Admin then the Cert shouldn’t matter.
What for someone got their first cybersecurity job and finished college. Still basic certs or go for the intermediate ones?
Where do we learn and write the certificates
Net +/ccna before Sec+ You can't secure a network if you don't even understand how it work
Weird how you can get all of these and be rejected from entry level jobs because you need experience before you can get an entry level job.

I have started the azure az900 course, extremely similar to what I did last year in my 2nd year of my degree, basically the levels of basis for azure cloud systems with paas, SaaS and iaas and how Capex and opex is used in smes and larger business but I want to get a comptia certification. Which one holds more weight though a pure network engineering degree or certifications
@CyberMachine

Get both. AZ900 takes no time to go through
The certs are the easiest part of this journey by far. Job hunting will challenge you like youve never been challenged before
Probably do Network+ first, then Security+…
