I started with Ableton around 12 months ago, and since you make the kind of music I like, I've been glued to your videos as they're an incredible learning resource (I also like your humor too!). I would absolutely watch a 4 hour long video. Or 4 x 1 hour long series style videos; I'm sure others would as well. Gavin, your stuff is top tier!

Very kind of you to say, my good man!
Watched the whole thing, absolutely fascinating to watch your workflow start to finish. Please create more of these longer style videos! 😄

@@hollowgroundproductions awesome, looking forward to it, I agree with him that these longer style videos are a blessing! :D
Love this, would love to see more videos like this! Thank you for your generosity!
this is exactly what I was looking for for the past few months! love it!
the result is fire!!! Cant wait to watch the whole thing G
This was unreal, so good to see your process and also just the trust in following your instincts!
man you are legendary for this!!
sounds awesome !
This video is super informative, would love to see more in this format! Even if there's less commentary watching what you're doing to make a full track is one of the best ways to learn.
Great video, thanks for uploading long form production!
Espectacular as Aiways
Loved the longer vid!
Pure class this mate 🤠
good stuff, nice workflow. do more.
Gavin is baaaack!
Quality video fella. Enjoyed watching your process!
unreal how efficiently and quickly you are getting through this while still keeping the sound pro -
Wanted one from scratch from a long time!
Really enjoyed this Gavin - fair play to you. Very informative. not an Abelton user but going to try replicate this in my Daw using this session as a reference. Thanks again.
One of the best tracks I’ve seen made in a start to finish tutorial on KZread. If you’re passionate and honest about this, your tracks will get out there and make waves in the scene bro I swear. This was pure class. Props and good luck to you. Keep up the hard work
Thank you so much! Please do more start to finish videos, they're a joy to watch. Would love something in the style of D Dan!
Hell yeah!!!!
Ooh very nice 👌 🔉
Love your videos, probably my favorite tutorials here on KZread would love to see a video on Filmmaker
Yooooo this is crazy! I was grooving hard in my room at the end.. wish i was using ableton to get lessons of you but im only used to fl studio 😐

when you are changing all the parameters at 26:33, how do you know what values to put?

Just general experience with multi band compression on drums. To be fair, I should make a video dedicated to group drum processing at some point.
Loved the format. Wouldn't mind more like this in other genres. Would you do a video going in more detail about your drum audio effects rack?
would love an electro vid!
Really enjoyed watching this vid - thanks a lot for it! One thing that left me scratching my head was when you were deciding about the ratios for the multi-band compressor. At that point you obviously had in your head what ratios you wanted and you just went for it, but I was wondering 'why those ratios?' 'what's your reasoning behind what you chose?' 'Would it be different on a different song' etc etc.,
Awesome!! Can you make a video like this for/on I Hate Models?
Those were some really nice kick samples at the beginning that you were going through :) Is that pack available somewhere? Really cool and energetic track too, btw.
This is sick! Could you do a Ross from Friends one please

It's in the pipeline, but could be a while!! It's a tough nut to crack ;)
Watched all the way through to the end. 🥵 Very informative and inspiring, especially seeing the speed of Your workflow - You don't re-listen to whole sections of the track over and over again, like I do. To a user familiar with Ableton it was enough to follow the mouse cursor in most cases, even without the commentary. It wouldn't have the same energy, if You stopped to explain every step imo. 👌

I would hope that if a video goes at such a speed that you come out of it with a bunch of questions you are desperate to ask, then that is a good thing, as the imagination has been sparked! Also, y'all know how to get in touch if you wanna deep dive into any specific area!
Before I give my review, I want to state that I have paid for one-to-one lessons with Gavin and totally rate him. If you are after someone to raise your game very quickly then look no further. Full of enthusiasm and humour and gets straight to the point of helping you making better, creative decisions. Absolutely worth the investment. Ok, so I made it to the end of the tutorial! ...and here are my thoughts. I would say that the style in-depth track building is brilliant and what I have been looking for for ages. I would go as far as saying that it is the most helpful video tut I have come across - and I’ve watched soooo many. Reason being that the depth and detail of methods opens up so many possibilities to be explored on new tracks. Just the act of watching someone create a track in expert mode is challenging but totally rewarding. Speed is fine, just pause and replay. In terms of length, I would happily follow a tut that is any length if the contents as good as this. So more of these please.

I feel I should warn you that this tutorial is TOO effective at making people jump around. It's only been 15 minutes into the video and I can't stop jumping around now. Please send help

Glad you liked the video, boss. But I gotta be honest, Dubstep, James Blake style or otherwise, is straight up not my thing. I would not be a good choice to be the tutor for this kind of music, as despite the technical skill you need to recreate it, I genuinely think you need the passion for the sound, and to vibe to it, in order to deliver a solid training video. There are some decent videos on KZread attempting the sound already, also!

@@hollowgroundproductions Yeah i get what you mean sir . keep growing 🔥
hall of onions XD
is there way to put in folder or even delete garage band AU vsts? it creates such a mess. Also can I group my vst? All of them are in same level
Can I ask why you are so specific in the compression ratios on the multiband for drums?
@hollowgroundproductions
4 ай бұрын
You are absolutely 100% more than welcome to ask, my good man! Is just that the answer won't fit into a comment! But in short, compressors are most effective when each parameter is used gently and compression should never be overused.
nice ! hey - where can I get the UK garage sample pack mentioned at 2:40 ?

Reddit my dude
Doesn't really sound like your references on the description, but fair play for trying
Dude! Slow down, make a 4 hour long video. Entirely serious, I love your videos and the longer and more granular explanations the better.
Appreciate your videos man, and you do good work - but this is 100% definitely not hardgroove techno!
@hollowgroundproductions
5 ай бұрын
Probably not! TBH, it was more the general theme that inspired me, and as you can see, I was running on instinct. Was initially gonna call the video "Attempt at Hardgroove Techno in 90 Mins, But Landing On Some Weird Fusion That Is Still Sort Of Good"...but felt it wouldn't work as a thumbnail!! Sorry for false advertising, bro! Stay tuned for my next video called "Anjunadeep in 2 Hours", but the track ends up just being Drumcode techno!! LOL
Hey, superb seeing these longer ones Gavin❗❗ Curious what you think of faster techno. I'm into this mental and fast paced techno and wondering maybe you like it. Check out Alarico, such talent. Mainly this is the sound I'm talkin about, striped out, mental, atmospheric. Alarico is the name!!!
