Darcy I applaud you in even being able to start this momentous project by yourself. I would be overwhelmed and wouldn’t be able to start. My Mom’s old bedroom is in such a state as your crafting area. I haven’t been able to bring myself to empty it out since she pass last Easter. I’ve tried but usually cannot stay in the room much more then 10 minutes. I am going to watch your decluttering through to its completion with the hope that I can gain the strength to tackle her room.

Thanks for bringing us along with you! I’d say 98% of us have been where you are, so you get no judgment from me! My experience was that I needed to get the main pieces in place and then begin to deal with the smaller things. If I didn’t know what to do with something, I took time to think it through while I worked on something I had a plan for. I’m still working through it…and have accepted that it’s actually part of the creative process. It’s gradually morphing into a wonderful place to spend my days and let creativity have a place in my world again! You’ve got this! Please don’t beat yourself up over it! You’re such a wonderful, joyful soul and I’m looking forward to seeing you enjoy your space again and really crank out the good stuff! 😂

My craft room looks the same as when you began... I am moving in a few months, so I'm organizing while I pack.

Bravo! I am also working on the same issue…you would think I would already know if I clean as I go it wouldn’t get like this. But no…it is a seasonal ritual. Every season is a deep clean, declutter and rearrange things that are not working for me. I can’t wait to see the what you accomplish next!

I’m in the same situation I move a shelving unit but first I had to empty it out that is all over my floor yep I have a new unit to build to put all that stuff back into it it is a process slowly but surely it will get done so keep going😉😊

This was oddly satisfying to watch. Best advice was not to go overboard when starting with a particular craft (I failed at this, still trying.) I got some deep pockets, that hang on the back of my craft room door that are about 10-12" deep, there must be 10+ pockets, I love those. It's amazing what they hold, I put my rice paper pads, tissue paper packs, they would fit scrapbook papers.
