out of all my years of making art, ive never heard the tips youve gave from anyone else on this platform. they usally make points about where the clothing folds would bunch up but not why they would bunch up in a certain area. you go over types of material, material thickness, main areas where folds takes place, "secondary(?)" areas where folds would take place, and more like the look of what an artist might wanna go for (cartoony or semi-realistic). this is by far the most helpful clothing folds tutorial ive ever watched, thank u for ur service.

The best advice I’ve gotten on fabric is to just wing it. Seriously folds are not important. Just get something that looks roughly correct
Lately I've been struggling with my art and I didn't know how to improve, these videos have been helping so much!! It's insane that you're doing this for free

*Lately I've been struggling with my art and I didn't know how to improve. These videos have been helping so much!! It's insane that you're doing this for free.
I've been searching for a good fold tutorial for forever now. Most I find are just "where there is tension there are folds". You explained it so well tysm
i usually just slap on some triangle shadows on multiply and call it a day so this is extremely helpful
YESSS I've always struggled with folds and you seem to be able to do a good nice looking job.
Thank you so much for making this! I’ve watched several videos on how to draw clothes and clothing folds, and they would explain how different fabrics have different folds, but they didn’t explain the different types of folds like the loops vs the triangles I also definitely need to use references more often (not just for clothes, I need to use them more in general), so I’ll be sure to do that
I feel like I kinda got the feel of this. But I now feel like I got a way better grasp of it now that it was explained to me. Especially with the distinction between thick and stiffer fabrics. This will help me feel way less intimidating when trying to make fabric wrinkled. C:
In stage-costume design class, my prof gave us a little quote for remembering where buttons went "women are always right and men are left over", so to button up women's clothes, the right side with the holes goes over the left side with the buttons, and for men, they'll have the left side of the clothes with the holes go over the buttons on the right. That prof taught me a bunch of other stuff too, but this is what always comes into my head whenever I remember him XD It's helped me a lot when drawing jackets cause I never noticed the buttons were different before.
I always struggle so badly with clothing folds and I usually just put them wherever, this video is gonna be extremely helpful for my next big project! Thank you for making this art education accessible for everyone, it makes it so much easier to improve as a beginner artist :D
For me, it's so difficult, even drawing hands feels like child play compares to it. So I really need this
One thing that helps me the most in drawing is having a reference then I can see exactly what I'm drawing instead of trying to draw from my memory.
the distinction between drawing folds in the lineart vs showing them with color is HUGE. it's something I've noticed recently and it's great to see it confirmed here. I don't fully understand the "loops" but I will keep looking at refs
why is it that they can teach me more in 11 minutes than the 4+ years of art classes in school.

The longer you stay, the more *money* they get. Classic Mr krabs 🙄
I’d love to see a *Part 2* for this video that focuses on the ‘External Factors’ that affect clothing 9:59 . I want to learn more about how to make clothing look dynamic for action scenes where the character is moving around, as well as when the weather is windy and this adds movement to the clothing.
You are so GOOD at doing everything in just ten minutes: list all the rules, provide examples, show how it's drawn, explain why, give analogies if it's not quite intuitive, and then you even sprinkle in some fun jokes and pleasant visuals. You're amazing, seriously. I love most art youtubers for their passion and personality and talent for explaining art verbally. But I don't think I've ever had anything art-related explained so extremely thoroughly in such a short amount of time. Wow. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and experience and effort with us, in your uniquely well-thought-out way.
I love this instructor so much.
She is actually right, all artists use reference pics in a number of different ways depending on their practice
36 minutes ago thank you I’m working on a s etch book of outfits this was very helpful hope everyone has a good day
Idk how to say it. Your explanations rlly tickle my brain the right way. Like the sidenotes you put down mirror the way I think when I draw, so I get to understand it pretty quickly. Otherwise it's hard for me to understand with the more straightforward explanations from other creators. In a nutshell, thank u, lol.
Thankyou, I've been needing this
Yess! I needed this!
YES, WE NEED THIS!❤️
OMG this video bout to be a godsend
OH MY GOD YESSSS I NEEDED THIS DESPERATELY THANK YOU WINGED CANVASS
I really needed this!! The art is finally arting!
I have been studying at for a couple of months and I getting to the pro place. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
So helpful!! Thank you for all the awesome content!!
I NEEDED THIS MORE THAN WORDS CAN EXPRESS
Came back to this video to thank you. This was such a life saver, I feel like I can draw again
I want to point out that I notice your videos tend to be much quieter than others and I'm having trouble going from video to video while Im changing my volume lol. Thank you for all the wonderful advice and all your effort! I really love listening! Sometimes it's just hard :)
You know, I've struggled for so long with drawing clothing. You're an absolute lifesaver. Very informative and I was amazed but how easy you make it look. I always had a feeling it was more simple than I thought
I really needed this, thank you so much! I had a rough idea on how folds work but knew my knowledge was lacking. This helped immensely :D
Thank you guys so much for making these amazing Tutorials!!!
Seriously, I’ve drawn clothing for years and this was the easiest and most instructive tutorial on clothing I’ve ever seen. Thanks for the lessons!!
This really helped for I really struggle with folds and clothes lol. Thanks for the awesome guide!
This is the video I need.
This was very helpful! Thank you 💖💖
This is a LIFeSAVeR!! Thank you so much!!
Can’t wait for this video!
this channel has got the best art tips i have ever received, my art classes got nothing on this channel.
This helped so much, i was gunna design a costume but i needed a refrence to help me design it, so i neeeded to know how to draw fabric this helped SO MUCH NEVER STOP MAKING THESE VIDEOS JESSIE
Folds are my nightmare lol My niece, who's 9 years younger than me and still a young teen, she draws SO much better than me, she knows how to draw humans that are human-shaped and clothes that look like clothes and folds that look real, I struggle with these things, and I'm trying to make a manga of my own. I'm not BAD at drawing, I am good at it, but it's definitely not "anime-listic". I'm trying to go for a more simple style that's easier for me to draw (coz I tend to get impatient but I love to draw and make stories) but still looks good, kinda like One Piece but... maybe even simpler? XD Definitely gonna study these tutorials so I can get better at drawing clothes, hands, backgrounds, anatomy and all sorts of stuff. I already learned a few things I didn't know or realize by watching these videos. So thanks! :)
Thanks a lot. I’ve been seeing improvements with how my fabirc looks!
I have years of drawing experience on paper and a few years with digital art but all self-taught, so this video definitely called me out in the right way lol, especially with the "thinking that more folds makes it look better". It also really helped me analyze the anatomy of folds and tension way better whereas originally I just drew them wherever I thought it looked sorta natural.
Just what i needed
I love this channel. It's much easier to learn from quick and to the point videos
Bro…DUDE your better then all of my art teachers …KEEP GOING BRO I NEED YOU
Thanks for the video, very helpful and well explained. Off to make so soft
THIS WAS SO HELPFUL YOU EXPLAINED EVERYTHING WELL THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!
youre such a good teacher!
this was so helpful thank you so much!! ❤
Like always, it was awsome!
this has got to be one of the best art channels i've ever watched, you focus a lot on physics and the more literal part of things, where too many other people just say, "Do it this way because it looks better." (Not that they're wrong, it just shows a better understanding of _why_ it looks better.)
Beautiful work🎨
Bless up… well explained 🙏🏾
Your videos are so useful and easy to follow Thank youuuuu
Thank you for this!
loved these tips! great video
All your videos are so helpful! They all guided me and told me stuff that i wasn’t able to find in anyone else’s videos or websites, and are very detailed and of reasonable length. This is amazing value for free content! Please never ever lock this stuff behind a paywall! You definitely helped too many people out there and inspired us 😁
Super helpful! Thanks!
i just witnessed u reach 200k
*AMAZING TALENT!*
Appreciation rant! So this may be a bit long since I sometimes go off on a tangent on things. I've seen a few books, random tutorials, references, etc for clothing folds and yet I learned the most from this video. I started art in June of 2020 and have been doing it almost daily since. Lately I haven't been able to because of school, but these videos help me get back into the flow of it. I show them to my friend and she also appreciates them, and we both learn so much :D
oh my gosh you are a saint thank you so much for this 😭😭😭😭🙏
Love this! I shared it to my other artist friends
great content as always!
I like how this is nice and concise, you really did a good job in making this easier to understand! Folds are really not my forte so having it explained helps😄
Tysm for these tips, I really need to learn how to draw fabric. My drawings alays look weird, stiff and flat ;-; you're a life saver
I love your video art
I need this sm
Awesome!
I'm trying to draw furry animatics right now and... My brain is challenged by the background alone! This has helped so much to refresh my memory on this subject! Extremely helpful, quick and easy to understand, thanks so much!
Tysm!
Finally, an art tutorial that's actually well-explained.
well, time to put these tips to good use! **goes to drawing**
I struggle with wrinkles and folds but this video genuinely made me have a better idea, on how to make clothing look good, only issue I’m doing the thing of “too many wrinkles”
YES. YES. YES!
ouu, im early. my second video right after watching the advanced colour schemes video! looking forward to learning about folds in this video :)
I'm already studying hand anatomy but I have so much on my list that I want to dooo, color theory, how to shade clothes, folds aaauhg
This was my first video by WC and I’ll tell ya, she did not disappoint. Although the video was quick, it was very informative, and very entertaining. I really hope the livestreams are still a thing, bc i will absolutely be joining in- even if its just to draw with her lol She seems so funny and knowledgeable!

Idk if this'll get seen, but I'm using this to try and help draw pillows? More furniture tutorials would be great, your videos are lovely and easy to digest compared to most of youtube.
I like drawing except i don't know how to do a lot of things and your videos are explaining and helping a lot
I'm lit drawing AS I'm watching you. You have amazing skills! U CANT tell me DIDN'T go to art school!! ^•^
i kinda know how to do folds but i can hone them much better bcuz as a hollow knight fan, cloaks n clothes are my thing, i need to hone my clothing fold skills to perfection. (edit: watched the vid, taught me soooo much, thank you!
Thanks for the turtorial of clothing. Mine is leather which I'm struggling to draw about it
Amzing
Thank you for this! Most videos I see rarely explain in depth why some folds are drawn the way they are, they just show you how to draw them and I can't understand that way 😭
I was just studying clothes today omg
5:18 pintrest is good too.
This is my first time watching a live vid so hi
Omg i love ur videos. This helped me so much! P.s 0:45 is that gally from the maze runner
