erstens die wärmelampe wird immer vor fahrtantritt abgenommen zweitens die anfangs höhere leerlaufdrehzahl ist dem standgashebel geschuldet drittens ja es ist ein ritual einen lanz bulldog zu starten viertens der lanz eilbulldog ist und war die luxusklasse unter den von lanz gebauten bulldogs es gab ihn wie hier ich sage mal kabrio variante und in einer komplett überdachten variante und dieser hier ist ein besonders liebevoll restaurierter eilbulldog

Most interesting. Having lived in Maarssen, Netherlands, close to Utrecht for years, I always wondered about the sound of the ships in the canal. Some produce a sound like this Lanz Bulldog. I visited a shipyard museum recently, where I found information about this type of engine. It turns out that many of the older barges on the Amsterdam-Rijnkanaal use this "gloeikop" type of engine, which explains the extreme low revolutions type of engine. It also explains why this type of engine was used widely in cargo ships. Moving parts reduced to the absolute minimum, long lifespan, very reliable. (gloeikop = glow head, which has to be heated before you can start the engine. Clear in the video.)

I love how long the whole process takes. Imagine doing that every day, but it didn´t matter, because you were working 18 hours anyways...

Beautiful machine! Certainly way more comfortable to ride than the HL-series. "Eil-Bulldog" - is that one of the Buldog with the 10,4l (634cui) engine?

I never knew they made tractors with bodywork like that. From the image, I was thinking it was a fire engine.

Beautiful machine! Would love a car modelled on this chassis but not the engine. I notice there is no crank handle on the starter wheel this would prevent broken bones. Thank you, great video.

I've seen some Lanz Bulldog tractors like that on the internet. I love how they seem like a combination between a tractor and an early convertible coupe. Does this kind have a specific model name? I know every Bulldog had a different model

Fascinating but why would any farmer go through this to start their tractor? Especially when these were manufactured at the same time that more efficient, smoother engines were available.
