    I think by dropping the few Trek copyrighted instruments (ie star trek logos and a few copyrighted names), he could release it as an independent production and not be hampered by CBS/Paramount corporation. the 'aesthetic' is very hard to prove as copyright infringement, so could keep that.

Thru TNG, DS9, Voyager and Enterprise I never liked the idea of just connecting two long nacelles onto a saucer with sticks. When the designs started getting more complex and robust was when I liked them more. The Engle Class from ST: Discovery is a very good example. It looks like a Carrier and I love it.

    @@themetalstickman Continuity is a good thing. But i think too much is being made of the fact that a modern show, chose to go a different way look wise. Now if a person doesn't like the story, i get that. There was a lot of stories in TNG and deep space 9 that were bad too. I just think looks are being used as this scapegoat for a massive outcry against discovery. At least there was a new star Trek.

    I don't mind updating the interior look, but keeping the same external look would have been nice. Besides which, that pizza wheel ship looks dumb as hell. Its made almost entirely out of sharp edges, and looks like no other Starfleet vessel before or after, even within the Kelvin timeline.

  • @Gunnar001

    @Gunnar001

    5 жыл бұрын

    Rising Horizon Gaming The previously rejected Discovery ship design looks like garbage, especially with the dumb spinning saucer spore drive nonsense. The interior is even worse. It’s looks like a depressing, lensflare filled dungeon. There is zero respect for the decades of already established Trek continuity. TNG, DS9 and even Enterprise all show the original TOS design and aesthetics, and it works just fine. If they actually gave a shit, they would’ve left the TOS era alone and set the show decades after Nemesis. At least then there would be some kind of explanation for why the technology and everything else looks almost nothing like Star Trek.

  • @themetalstickman

    Having all the sensitive communications gear and sensor array right between the two nacelles (that look like they leak a lot of _…blue light?)_ does seem like a recipe for interference, but then if the nacelles were stuck underneath there's the same argument for the planetary sensors, except as I write this I realise you wouldn't be using warp and planetary analysis at the same time. And the planetary sensors explain the shortened secondary hull. Perhaps a *external feature underneath* to show the *planetary sensors* and therefore give a visual cue as to why the secondary hull is so stubby. A elaboration of the centre of the underside of the saucer section. The nacelles blocking the sensors/communications on top could be remedied by simply *moving the dish* ect *to the top of the fin,* which makes sense in a "naval design", it can even rotate for that extra rendering processor headache. But generally arrays are stuck at the very top. And if the nacelles were underneath as well, cross bracing with the secondary hull, the nacelles and the saucer section - maybe as a variant or "Miranda" version of the ship. Do the two large shuttles in dedicated bays have any warp capability? Even warp 1 would be useful for moving around in system. (NX shuttles had no warp).

    Just waaaayyy too awesome! The realistic ways of the ship looks soo possible, looks like we are actually really seeing a real starship! I wish to see ALL Stat Trek remastered to this type of realistic ways!

    Woah, the Pacific 201 concept is sooo amazing. Man I really wish CBS adopted this idea or Axanar instead of Discovery.

    I'm pretty sure that if they adopted this idea, fans would still complain. The ship looks more advanced than the 1960s TOS ships. Fans fail to realize that making Star Trek made today would look nothing like the old films and Series.

    In terms of the star trek canon the Pacific bothers me when it comes to the radiators and such (I like it but in general it feels a little antiquated compared to the actual canon) but the shuttles are SO EXCEPTIONALLY GREAT like I cant get over it I love the shuttles. They feel very appropriate in the Pacific canon and the canon canon. Those are probably some of my all time favorate models you've done.

    Hello I saw your name a lot in the credits. I watched it what can I say..... Brilliant so well made story to special fx could pat all involved a pat on the back for me. I got worried half way episode 2 thinking I would have to wait for episode 3 lol. But you closed the loop of the story arc. And left the foundation for a new show.... gain brilliant

    One of the best thought through ship designs I've ever seen, good job. But let me ask a question. Why were all the cool Pacific 201 videos are removed from the Pacific 201 youtube channel and whats about the progress of the movie?

    Are you kidding me my friend because Trump mentioned the space force the Navy and Airforce of screaming and pulling each other titties about who gets to be the command of a vessel in Space the Navy said they should be the one because they got the experience of navigation the Air Force say we got the experience because we categorize anomalies in air and space I mean come on Manny I literally bitch slapping each other about who gets to command the 4th correction V branch, as far as the Navy's concerned there's no way in hell they want to see the Air Force in charge of space
