The plane was late, show cancelled, we went to drown our sorrows at a nightclub,in comes the Elvin Bishop Band,we had our own show and even got a refund. The phrasing we became accustomed to in Elvin Bishop's original was developed over Elvin's many years of hard work in both hard and wonderful places. His influence as part of the Butterfield Blues Band remains at the core of my whole life's enjoyment of some really great music. For me, Elvin Bishop just nailed this song right outta the park.

Sounds like a lot of folks don't care for the guitarist. I'v been involved in music most of my life so here's my two cents. I have to agree with all of you. He is simply out of his element. Perhaps hasn't learned how to fit professionally. He's got some great chops and some of his fills are well executed but the song has always been about the vocal backed with Elvin's tasteful solo. So we find this unacceptable.

I play guitar and totally agree with most of the responses as well. You HAVE to play to the song. Great chops, but not the right place. Mickey is spot on.

A GREAT vocal, and a very Amateur Guitarist. Some of you "Shred" worshipers will say "Amateur???" YES! I spent 53 years in the Music Business, and a Professional plays to the SONG. He does NOT try to prove how many notes he can cram into a measure! Elvin Bishop's solo was as GREAT as Mickey's Vocal. It's what MADE the Song!
