I just wanted to say, this guide was fantastic! It was easy to follow, all the parts were named and explained, and I was able to build my own, with a few slight differences. The biggest being the removal of the wing struts. Bringing those wings in has basically given me the "Defiant" style ship I was looking for! Thank you so much!

Tiny suggestion, try replacing your slim docker with Extender Port 200 Docker, In this case you don't need the extra 1x1 hub and you avoid having the ladder

This is one of the first ship build videos I didn't cringe at within five minutes. Some people do some weird things to fight the bad hab routing issues. The aesthetics are great and the ship is built to purpose. I also agree that Stroud and Nova have the best aesthetic pieces in game. This looks a lot like a beefed up Star Eagle. Some things you've mentioned have me now rethinking my current rebuild of the Kepler R. The Kepler R is an ugly mess, but some great core parts for a starter C class ship.

Honestly the most detailed, straight to the point video I’ve seen. Great job sir seriously. I thought it was the Normandy at first from mass effect. Subscribed!

Awesome build, this has become my main ship. I love how you did it and I interpreted it slightly differently to make it all one level and put habs on the wings while keeping relatively the same design.

I can appreciate the time it took to obtain the degree of perfection you wanted, myself having spent an unreasonable amount of hours each time I went from class A to B to C! It feels soooo great when it's done. I'm looking at my sleepless eyes in the mirror and I tell myself: "worth it!" I finished my massive ship yesterday at lvl 50. Called it the UC Ascendant. It is built to be perfect gameplay wise with emphasis on roleplay "makes sense" vibe and 8 crew members. I managed to have it to 100 maneuverability and it's literally 1 pound away from falling to 99! With a whooping 6500 kg cargo space! From a perfection seeker to another I'd love to show it to you! I’ve spent so much time working on ship builds. I have 3 custom ships, all at 100 mobility 30ly jump range. A light fighter that’s all manual particle beams and only 1 hab, a heavy fighter that has all needed habs, 6 vanguard obliterators, 4 suppressors and 4 missile launchers, a battle cruiser that’s all turrets, max shields. I also have a cargo hauler that has only a few turrets but 51,000+ cargo space but 0 mobility. I’d say a 3rd of my playtime (3.5 days total playtime currently) is just spent on perfecting my ships.

Looked in New Atlantis, Stroud Eklund Station, and my main outpost. None of them had all the parts needed to build this ship, had to surrender the idea

Several things I like about this build, it really has everything, but a lot of builds do. I have watched dozens of other builds on KZread, but this one is the best overall in my opinion. The thing about this build is it's not too crazy. It's really got everything, and I prefer this build over the updated one because of the cargo space, but if you want crew space you might want to build that one. Build isn't too hard, price is reasonable, especially for what you get. I may build a monstrosity some day, but for almost everything this is your flying base.

Thanks for the ship design, I added habs on the wings that add crew slots and used the hoptech cross brace instead of the engine bracers. Swapped the location of the side landing gear and the cross brace. I also used 3 sal-6380 instead of the 2 supernova engines, this allows to me to have over 7k cargo with mobility in the 70's still. you could have more mobility even if you replace the 2 outer engines too, but i like how they look.

For anyone interested, the Galileo II at New Atlantis shipbuilder works very well as a donor ship for this. Allows you to get it up and flying and able to exit ship builder with it like 90% done or so.

Just finished my first play through and there was a relic that needed 28 lightyear ship. Good idea to have a way to get to that easily on any ship you build since you will need it.

I was looking to modify my star eagle, your configuration is perfect for my needs thanks for this video is really useful.

I like the simple interior layout. This is a great 4 crew, multi-role ship. The only change i would make woild be to swap out the armory for a crews quarters. You will need some bunks for those overnight stays on Venus 😉.

Love this build, very Klingon warbird-esque. It'd be fun to see how close you could come to this using the Star Eagle starter ship, that way you could just upgrade along the way.

This is a great ship! Thanks for the guide.

The crew skill size perk works in tandem with the crew skill size stat on your ship. By default your crew skill size is 3, but if your ship only has a stat of 2 then you can only have 2. Your ship has a stat of 4, so even with a max perk stat that gives you 8 you'd still be limited to 4. In order to get 8 crew you need both the perk stat and the ship stat to be at 8 or higher.

An easy fix for this layout is to just swap the armory for one of the habs that gives crew space, the living quarters I think? That swap should get you a couple more crew (it's either 2 or 4, I think).

@@kedolan4992 Control room is the best as that's +4. But that's not really what I was getting at. The video creator was basically implying that the crew stat on ships didn't matter since there was a perk skill. I was just clarifying that you need both.

Cheers for the video. I can see you've put the hours in to make this awesome craft. I've built mind and it's say oversized and say overpowered. It's got 8000 cargo and it's looks like a scorpion with it 10 landing years when it's landed. But I just get lost when I'm improving or upgrading this monster. It so huge it hangs over the landing bays.

Great video and ship design…. I’ve finally figured out how to builds ships that I don’t get lost in and loved your simple approach! The only suggest is for future builds make the parts a lighter color as it made it difficult to see with everything black.

I am so new to ship building, I have no idea how to get all of those part! lol this looks incredibly fun, wish it was in a list form and based on location. Also wouldn’t mind seeing you go from place to place to acquire it all, but the walkthrough/layout was super awesome man, thanks!

Yeah, but in my experience so far, they also tend to be the heaviest, at least for structural parts (lots of 8's and 10's where most others are 2's, 3's, and 5's). Not a complaint per se, but if you're looking for lighter, faster ships, you might have to forgo Stroud-Eklund, especially if you're sticking with A-class parts.

the unfortunate thing is all the companies that LOOK good have shitty parts. And all the companies that have good parts look bad. Stroud/Eklund and Hopetech look fantastic, but they have terrible parts when it comes to making your ship not look like a cube. Taiyo has pretty rounded edges, but all of their parts are hyper specific use. Deimos doesn't look super great, but got the best range of parts for any build. Nova has really nice parts, but it's HABS are hideous. building without using at least 2 companies is a pain in the ass.

@@dokuujin1851 Something I've noticed is that none of the ships you can buy seem to have only one sole manufacturer, so this would seem to be a problem in-universe too. lol Still holding out for DLC parts. D-rank, perhaps? I actually like Nova for the retro look. I used it almost exclusively to remake the Wanderwell into a cargo hauler.

I don't know if this is a known thing, but you if you do it just right there is a large cargo hold that you can get to flip upside down. So, you can cover most of the fuel tanks and shield generators with it, if you want a sleek/clean look

LOL would not call this an ultimate ship build, but I realize youtubers need something to pull in the views.... and def not a bad ship. Will thumbs up your vid. I also LOVE the ship building in this game. Can not wait for modders or bethesda to expand on it... I want more parts to play with! Benchmark I've been using to test out each ship is to jump to (don't want to spoil anything for anyone still not there) that system with the pirate space station ... They all dead ... got an ultimate ship... or at least a keeper... I blow up or have to leave... then I go back and tinker some more or just keep it in the garage as a collectable

Easily one of the nicest ship builds on the Tube that isn’t outlandishly complicated layout/parts wise. Very strong and looks the part too. I will second the commenter who said it’s missing a bed and would add that it lacks end game jump range but that could be remedied by getting your Astrodynamics skill to lvl 3. Overall: Clean, simple, efficient & powerful. Very well done! I’m past lvl 70 and haven’t built a ship yet but I just might copy this one ;)

Nice build ... I would drop the missiles and replace them with Disrupter 3320A's, I would also replace the Obliterators with the 3320A's ... I also don't think you need more than 1 suppressor, there doesn't seem to be a benefit to having more than 1. For me I have 2 main ships, one is just for inventory management and has about 35K cargo space, the other is a combat ship. All of my piloting is done with the combat ship, I set my cargo ship to home when I need to manage inventory ... then back to the combat ship.

I am just starting the game and am already seeing this as what I want to do. A ship for cargo and crafting, and one for mission running and fighting. I wasn't sure how well it would work but seeing this gives me confidence.

Looks real good wish I could just buy it. My main ship is a upgraded Stronghold can take it to the Key spacestation, kill all the pirates with my 8x auto turrets. Just fly around till no more pirates loads of XP earned easy. I'm at level 30 now so looking to design my own ship thats looks good, not too massive with 5k cargo no need for more.

Very nice build

I have an endgame bounty hunter ship. I make sure that both the Bay and the Docker attach to either a captains quarters or an all in one with a nav console (nova galactic all in one a). The nav console is very handy, because it allows you to fast travel with no loading screens while you are encumbered. So because every way in has a nav console right in front it is super easy for me to travel around with an entire arsenal in my inventory. Also nice to have a bed right there, and that hab is usually the only part of my ship I ever see unless im roleplaying.

You don't need a nav console. You can just open the starmap from your menu screen and travel that way.

I really like this idea. The habs with both with bed & nav table. Great idea. Will need a bottom docker I think tho, a slim? I know we can tab travel once inside a hatch. That’s my usual mode. But I like the +1 role play of doing it via the nav table. Even though I’m carrying tens of thousands of Kg of crafted goods to sell… lol. I am building linked storage into defensive walls around my fave crafting base, so I can dump all resources there instead of my ships. But I still haul the comm units away on person to sell in neon core. Not sure we can place 2 Captain quarters but I prefer to isolate mine up high behind a hatch, so I don’t wake up from “sleeping with” my wife to find Sam & his daughter chatting right there… doh.

Your design inspired me to build my own variant of your ship. Not every item was available, im level 50, but seems that a couple of items were different or had slight variations on their version numbers, but I got 99% of the stuff. I did make some changes though, too much cargo weighed the whole thing down, im not really a cargo person, so reduced it by half and reduced the mass by 1/3 which maxed out manoeuvrability to 100. I also changed the engines as I didnt like two giant batteries sticking out of the back (considering how much you see of it). I did use two mods, one mod was to change the pov to a much better distance for the ship and the ship parts mod. You still need to be levelled and certified in all 3 departments to be able to use the parts though. I just got fed up with running to each system for 1 part at a time. Makes building much more fun. I really liked your design, it inspired me to make my own from scratch. Wish we could save them as blueprints.

@@04AMofficialI have had quite some fun with it, its easier to board ships too, I never really used Em weapons, so being able to have them at hand helps too. I have made a few refinements to the design, I swapped out the science lab and workshop for habitat modules as I dont really need them. I just craft back at the lodge. It looks nicer too. The original design had no bed space for my crew. (despite jumpseats), so I swapped them out. That is about the only change I made after I test flew the ship for a couple ok hours. There is actually room if I want to put the workshop back as I removed two of the structural landing gear (too many). But I prefer to keep it simple (in terms of navigation around the habs). Thanks for the inspiration.

the free star ranger ship is a fantastic ship if you can't afford to buy one. I earned it through the quests, brought the wings in to the main body, and reduced extra rooms to increase maneuverability. its size was very small and I never lost a fight in it. I put a lot into weapons and shield. it was capable of 27LY of travel, and I never ran out of storage

I've been watching soooo many shipbuild videos and alway "hmm intressting but no", this one im actually gonna build right now. Good jobb, only crític i have is the cockpit, not sure i love that long neck :) Anyways, good jobb, about to test this baby out right now!

Like it alot - my layout even though my ship looks different is very similar but I had a fear of numbers decreasing (lol) so wanted to keep my speed at 150 and mobility near 100 so didnt place near as much cargo or larger reactor on my ship which is class B

Im a horder aswell, but think this is the perfect size of cargo for every day run, you can have a designated cargo ship for when you need for outpost or the like. Just custimize ship to select the new one, and you got a full cargoship on the side

I've built a heavy cruiser with 8 crew capacity, 26k cargo, workshop, science lab, 1600 shields & insane dps... makes your's look really tame tbh. I also have a small fighter that cruises at 214, boosts to over 1,000 & turns stupid quick

Great ship! Though if you use a certain docker (I forget the name but something tells me it’s nova) it’ll actually be an inaccessible 1x1 room, so instead of having a hole in your floor it’d be like having another bay, but it’s just the docker
