Thanks! I’ve thought about it, I have one mass guide video on outpost tips and tricks as well as a video explaining how to unlock all the decorations. Also on a lot of my build videos if I use a specific trick in it I normally show it at the end of the video instead of a separate video. I would like to help more with tutorial videos but I find it can be challenging with just text in the video rather than me talking. There’s some things that are difficult to explain in text when you’re trying to explain a build glitch or trick but it’s definitely in my head for future videos. Miss O has some great videos and tricks as well!

😂 thanks dude! And I was thinking that too, it would be way easier for me to make them now too because of the new maps in the game. I could actually get a better understanding of the layout myself now and would be easier to follow that way. Definitely plan on making more eventually!

Nice! Honestly the ship building is the best part of the game in my opinion. It would be awesome to see more external and internal parts in future DLCs. Also, I see you use the best bridge as well.

I have been sleeping on it, It just interests me more now that we can decorate the interiors. It definitely is fun though, frustrating but fun lol. And I wish there were more with stairs, they need to do some future DLCS with it. A luxury liner would be nice as well, with a cream/beige smooth interior or something, not as metal and rough feeling.

Since the update, I have been struggling between trying to find a suitable empty hab to build in or modifying a prefab. Last night I spent a few hours using console commands to remove some pieces from a Taiyo captains quarters only to have them reappear today after booting up the game. I didn't have much hope, but your build is incredible. Especially the captains quarter. It's going to start as a starting template for me to build my own. Ahh I was actually curious about what would happen with that. I was gonna remove some items with console commands from the ship but I never did. But thank you! I really appreciate that. I’ve been working on a video showing off all the 1x1 habs decorated to give people some ideas. hopefully I’ll get it uploaded within the next few days

Thank you! And it was honestly quite the challenge compared to outposts. Pretty frustrating, just trial and error on how the interior was gonna look, while also trying to keep the outside looking good. Made it less frustrating so I at least had an idea of how some of the habs would look, still wish we could freely place ladders and doors ourselves. I’m pleased with how it turned out but it was pretty frustrating at points lol.

Question for you. Do I still have to build certain things in a outpost to get the skill to create certain items for my ship?

Yeah, I’m pretty sure some of the new items and decorations are locked behind the outpost skill at the research station and then some would be locked behind ranking your skill for outpost engineering. Some of the new decoration & furniture might be given to a new character right at the beginning but not all of it.

With this, I really hope that they add more to what you can do with the current outpost building. Being able to upgrade them from outposts to settlements to build more permanent buildings and attract settlers. Currently the only use for them is resource extraction, so what if we can also attract settlers and have them pay rent?

Oh wow it does, I just looked it up. I actually wanted to try to make a ship that looks like the drake cutlass black. I’ve watched Star Citizen content and kept up with the development for the past 5-6 years and still never played it. I finally just got a PC last summer so I really couldn’t have played it until more recently but I need to soon. When they add base building which I know is in the works that’s when I’ll probably buy it.

Really nice ship! I'm curious to know how you got no ladder at all between bottom and center floors, every time I try the game decide to pop one just close to the cabot cockpit... And yes, I'd like to see how you built it :) Also you're right, Delindsay's videos are a mustwatch for who wants to know what each hab looks like before building ^_^

Thanks! And this is all new to me, so it was a bunch of trial and error so don’t take this for a fact but, I think it had to do with the placement order of the habs but I could be wrong. I have to experiment with it some more, and same with unwanted doors. I used the taiyo hab connected to the landing bay because it doesn’t have side connections. If I had a 2x1 connected to landing bay it kept wanting to add two doors to the armory and two doors to captains quarters. I’m thinking about making a video on it but I need to make sure I fully understand it if I’m gonna make a video on it 😂 and 100% they are, I was struggling day 1 trying to get a ship built and searched a video for empty habs it was exactly what I needed.

I'm at level 204 and I think this ship is awesome. How can I build one? Do you have a video? Your decorating skills are on par.....no....far superior to anything else I've seen so far. Keep up the good work!

Thanks! At the end of the video I show the ship it started from and I made some changes from there. I changed the cockpit, landing gear, landing bay, and some structural pieces as well as the habs so it’s almost totally revamped. I was thinking about making a video showing the build process of it.

Thanks! And it can be frustrating especially with shelves. When dealing with shelves I mostly place is freely without using the build menu, it also allows me to get items closer to eachother.

How do you get items to stay on the same level when you place them? I’ve got an issue that when I place misc items in places - be it on my ship or on my outpost, I’ll leave and come back and they’re sunken into the shelf/bed/desk, whatever. Not all of them, just most of them?

After you place your misc items before leaving do a hard save and quit the game. That should lock them into place, then when you load back in they should be good you can travel and come back and they will still be how you left them. I always quit to desktop, but I’m pretty sure quitting to menu would be just fine too. I haven’t had items sink on me since my first week playing.

I’ve always preferred my own because I like a smaller more realistic ship. But with this update it makes the Starborn Guardian way more useful since you can decorate it so I probably will be using it more often.

I use Davinci Resolve, in my opinion it’s my favorite I’ve ever used. I used iMovie and Final Cut in the past but ever since I got my PC I switched to Davinci Resolve. Never had issues with it and it’s fairly simple to use, although it can be complex if you want it to be. I did watch some tutorials just to get me used to the layout and shortcuts. There is a paid version but I use the free one currently and have yet to run into a time where I needed to use one of the premium features.

The KZreadr Casey Faris has good tutorials if you have any troubles with it but you shouldn’t, it’s been good for me and a lot of people recommend it.

Love the build! Do you happen to know if the game will give you the ability to place ladders at specific parts of the ship?

Thanks! And unfortunately not, you have to find work arounds. There’s a couple habs that don’t have snap points on the sides so they won’t make unwanted doors, ladders seem to be more about placement order of the habs. All the ship building is new to me so I’m still learning the tricks and quirks but it could definitely use some improvements to make it less like a puzzle.

How do you get to be able to place a model ship in the habs? Like the one in the first empty captains quarters……

il y a 0 seconde I am a bit late but in your video the connection from the captain’s quarter to the next jab is only one door. In the live game each and every empty hand generates at least 2 doors. How did you manage to have only one door on an empty hab ?

It’s because I’m using the Taiyo storeroom bottom A 1x1. Those don’t have side connections so doors won’t get placed there. The bathroom in the captains quarters would be replaced by another door if I used another 1x1 hab at the entrance instead of the Taiyo one I used.

The decorations look awesome! What happens to the interior if you make a change in the ship build menu, like change the engine for example?

Thanks! And everything will stay the same even the random clutter you place. You can actually even move the exact hab that’s decorated and it will still keep everything you’ve placed.

Yeah, I still always save and quit after I decorate with clutter but it works really good now. You can even change home ships or switch habs and your random clutter will still stay where you placed it.

@@MillsBuilds what about weapons placed on racks specifically? When i built my first really good ship i fully decorated the nova galactic armory inside. (Talking about before the latest update). Changed ships & everything went back in the cargo hold. Do those weapons just live in that ship from now on? I certainly hope so. Future's getting brighter for this game all the time, i knew it would! Keep up the great work dude.

My weapons I placed on the rack are still there, they seem to have really ironed out all the weird things with misc items and other inventory items left on your ship or outposts. And it really is, and the creation kit isnt even out yet, the potential in outpost building and ships in this game is crazy. With mods already you can build city/towns. I would mess around with them but i've been trying to keep my channel xbox friendly so i'm waiting for the creation kit, but all that and vehicles, alot to look forward to. And will do dude! Question. I have a baseball and soccer ball, I drop them… how do I pick up to place somewhere with a controller? If I hit A, I just pick up again. I know… stupid question.

All good no such thing as a stupid question! Instead of tapping A to pick it up, hold in A and the item will be floating in front of you. You can then click in your left thumb stick and then click the triggers to rotate the item. Clicking the left thumb stick changes its rotation axis. So from what I get, the cockpit you are using, is the only double decker design available featuring a normal staircase. Anyone please confirm.

Nah this ship looks nice af from the outside, you’re tripping. It can be rough trying to build a really good looking original ship exterior in this game, especially if you want a big interior like this, or specific parts due to stats. Unless you post a good looking original ship design of this size, you got no right to be talking shit, this one is pretty damn good.

😂 thanks dude! To each their own.. I’m happy with how the outside of the ship turned out since I was basing it off the interior layout. I needed to leave spots for windows and wanted the layout to not have tons of ladders etc.. Even some of Bethesda’s ships you can buy look good from the outside but then once inside it’s basically a confusing maze of habs doors and ladders.
