I must've failed so many classes in high school and college because of the goldenage of PC games: Starcraft/BW, DIablo/Diablo2, WC2/3, Fallout 1 and 2, Baldurs Gate, Monkey Island series, Unreal/Unreal Tournament, Half-Life, Half-Life2, Team Fortress, Counter Strike, Heroes of Might and Magic 1-3, Descent, Myst, MechWarrior series. Sometimes I look back and wonder if I didn't play as many games where I would be...but then I listen to soundtracks like this and remember all the good times I had. So glad I can cherish those memories with so many friends. Hope you guys are all in a good place in life and to remember not to take life for granted. Cherish everyday. Fight the good fight.

Its 1998-1999. The internet slowly getting better, Pc games too. So used to play Nes and N64. Some good soundtracks in those childish games. Then you hear this music at 58:26. The zerg broodwar theme. Few words could describe how i felt.. Back then to have experienced this game before 9/11, the 90´s. The soundtrack, gameplay, story, multiplayers with friend. Something ill never forget, i feel lucky.

(I will never read a reply) The fact 2:42 can send a shiver through my body shows what a masterpiece this was alone. It's not just the song, but the connections my brain has made with knowing the amazing story, voice acting, and gameplay came with it. It's not just some boomer jargon when I say "They really don't make them like this anymore". And it's been this way for a while. Since the moneymaking and shareholder patterns are impossible for companies to avoid nowadays, I can safely say we will likely never see a game that ever comes close to this in any shape or form. Been 25+ years and nothing has even released that is 1/10th as good as Starcraft 1.
@Giorno.

Best thing we can do is encourage more new private companies that don't go on the stock market to make more games to replace the established guard. Gaming is finally coming back in strength especially with Godot being close to being fully operational to make RTS and more complex-bigger game types (Grand Strategy, etc) I'm building a few smaller games until we skill is well then I'll make a StarCraft successor with other people. Or who knows maybe make a fanmade game that focuses on some unexplored parts of the games and new time periods

Elden Ring is pretty good. RTS is dead as a genre though.

Soy una persona no el juego
starcraft 2 is also really good and cool
