love how the music starts playing before gg was called in the last match.

Those games were all awesome! Good played both players.

That last game was some God level control by Life to push back the 1st big push at the 4th. Definitely a game to rewatch as Zergs to study how to control your army. It really showed how tough it is to win from behind in ZvT. I would have liked to see some burrow baneling play from Life like Leenock uses in proleague. He clearly has the apm to pull it off.

Thanks Innovation, now I'm Hellbat pushed in every ZvT

this truely was the finals in all honesty, more intense and closer than any other series, and almost double the views of all other seires

InControl really knows what he's talking about, you got professional gamer Snute backing up and reiterating every point he makes.

i just started playing starcraft and this is incredible :o i know its im possible to get on this level of skill but i want to get as close as possible, these matches were the best video ive seen for a long time.

I honestly have a serious personal hatred for Widow Mines (WM) but, I have to say I think Dark's Corruptor/Baneling/Zergling build against this blind WM production do ease the pain of large encounters like the ones life lost at the end of this game. Anyway, amazing series, Innovation is a great player and Life, I believe, lost because he did not prevent the second Hellbat push by Innovation in the third game. GG, Inno.

This game was hot as hell. I enjoyed this epic!

So epic, wow. I thought it was going to go the other way until the last 1 minute. I think Life expected that he could ease off after he took that CC with his mutas.

Love how innovation actually get the WM upgrade every match because they are so useful but I really dont like how he controlled his widow mines.....really those mines killed more friendly units than zergs...

While I do agree that widow mines are bad for overall game balance. They are not 0 APM units, you need to spread them just like marines and burrow/unborrow and spread again and again each time you stutterstep forward with your bio. Banelings are way more braindead untis then widow mines. And Mutalisks with their ultrafast hp regen out of combat are pretty broken aswell, they can easy absorb some thor or turret shots and survive with 10% hp only to be full hp again a couple of seconds later, where as in WoL, thor shots or templar storm was more devastating. Not even to start about their stupidly fast movement speed. The little micro a zerg requires is to not have their banelings explode on a single marauder or thor and they will always trade cost efficient.

ppl complaining about op. not really. if u say tvz imba, zvp. even taeja says so. totally depends on race mu and timeframe in the game. each race balances against one of the other 3 overall, but loses advantage at a certain time in the game.

building hatch ftk is not necessarily taunting. vs the strongest opponents, you do that to lock them in just in case they survive, then pressure in with towers and respawning or nydus reinforcements right there

No this is definitely a form of "trash talk". Manner mules, hatches, and nexus are all used when the win is secured and the opponent isn't leaving yet. No pro player builds manner hatches and spines to secure a win, that's dumb.

***** we have some ppl who do it as a show of definite win so they leave bc some ppl like to try and hold out to the end. i was bw pro. no real pro does moves just to taunt. with that attitude, they'll be unseated before long. efficiency and no mercy is how to consistently stay at the top. all the pubs try to copy net slang and say "manner this, manner that". really doesn't matter. rank and league speaks volumes. most of the pros i played with talked very normal. though some were arrogant, understandably so, the very best were not, just solidly confident, no bs.

***** yea, most ppl just leave when the game is done and try next round with a better play bc at high pro level everyone is good enough you can't really come back from a major setback. but some ppl just keep fighting on. i think life was just showing how much $ he had and setting up a lockdown so inno had no thoughts of making a comeback. it was more like "gg. this is over. rm" rather than "owned. in your face"

17teacmrocks well it has both strategic and psychological benefits. spawning hatcheries outside your enemy's base is like bringing the fight to your opponents and sometimes its more like a slap in the face...

innovation very smart - he knew the mutalisk hovering given position and army balance didn't make sense and was just a diversion. then stormed out mass marine ftw

I feel like the best players are a bit lackluster compared to the golden age of BW. The level of skill involved with players such as SlayerZ`BoXeR` and Bisu and Stork and Jaedong and many others seemed a bit better. Then again, maybe it's just the nature of SC2 itself that makes it seem that way.

DAM i thought life is going to win the last one even his banes got pretty decent hits initially the rest cannot even connect to a bunch of marines :( really marines have insanely high dps, although they need some skill to spread but when they spread they are god, they move rapidly and most importantly they dont have any delay between attacks and kill everything that really makes me feel bad

Will Scharnagl eh... banes have a lot of strengths. They can burrow, theyre fast as hell when upgraded, and you can tell them what to shoot. Widow mines can be nullified for the cost of a zergling or for free with range, and one overseer makes them nearly useless if you do it right. They show their strength in a+move situations.... so don't a-move as much :)

alceushunterx he has been accused of match fixing. Not sure if he was actually arrested or not, haven't checked on this whole thing in ages. thing is guilty or not I don't think that he is allowed to come back to the professional Starcraft scene ever. Real shame to loose such an amazing player D:

+Артём Иванов tanks are rarely used in hots because mutalisks can make a fool out of them by ambushing tanks or (if they are protected with marines) attack workers. the widow mines are cheaper, made faster and made on reactors, while killing shitloads of lings AND mutalisks

+mj Widow mines are just stupid op, horrible unit design AND super cheap too, just look at game 3 completely decided by a couple of "lucky" widow mine shots. Spider mines from BW were at least 1 shot and ground only.

I'm not sure how to feel about all the QQ in the comments. On the one hand it's discouraging how little people understand race balance (hint: the matchups are at a good balance state now). On the other, the lack of knowledge means more people than just the most hardcore are still watching SC2 vods.
