Meanwhile young people unable to read a clock are at 6:30. Seriously, what astonished me always are young people claiming "hey, I don't get this reference so you have to stop using it". Yeah... I could sink to your level, or you could rise to mine?

For an advanced race, Protoss late game feels so clunky. While Terran pokes and runs with Yamato, nukes, tactical jumps, EMP..., Protoss can only run around like headless turtles. Heck, even the ability to detect invisibility is so risky for Protoss.

Protoss historically has always been the overtuned race. With WoL, Terran was broken. Then HotS came out, and Zerg was basically unstoppable with all the buffs they got to even the field with Terran. Then when LotV came out, Blizzard was like "ok maybe just make real small changes real slow" and didn't really get any broken moments.

Please don't change lowko. You're pretty much our lullaby, casting your way towards our comfortable sleep. Thank you man.

white noise of starcraft, hell i dont even play anymore but still find this relaxing.

We so rarely see Protoss win, its kinda nuts. As a casual viewer, it always seems like everytime it goes into these late game armies scenarios, Protoss dwindles out with time and then eventually loses the vast majority of the time.

Same here, casual viewer - played SC 1 and 2 campaign, but never multiplayer. Terran enthusiast. I, too, am confused about where Protoss are supposed to excel. Zerg and Terran endgame comps seem... somewhat balanced against each other. At the same time, they both seem to reliably defeat Protoss endgame at the extreme top of the meta. Similarly, Zerg and Terran early aggression appears to outperform 'toss early aggression. Terran cheese and terran harass both seem to outperform 'toss cheese and harass. Terran and Zerg economies reliably expand faster than that of the Protoss. Zerg units tend to be faster than those of the Protoss. Terran units tend to hit harder than those of the Protoss. Protoss units and structures have numerous associated liabilities holding them back with few parallels among zerg and terran units/structures; pylon power, colossi can be hit by air and ground, shields get instawiped en masse by EMP, few/unimpressive splash damage options, bowling-ball gameplay scales especially poorly against high APM, Carriers effectively cost resources to use (interceptor rebuilding), the mothership is a huge liability that seems more or less programmed to be impossible to protect consistently, endgame resource bottleneck tends to be gas-based, which is more problematic than a mineral bottleneck, etc etc. Protoss victories seem to be predicated entirely on using clutch combat abilities such as blink and storm in conjunction with incredibly narrow timing windows to create a vulnerability where none would otherwise exist, which then demands absolute perfect opportunity-taking from the protoss player to convert such an advantage into a victory. Truly, it is exhausting watching these players try to create/wait for an opening, THEN try (and usually fail) to capitalize on it. 2/3 times, Zerg can withstand a really bad beat from Protoss, recover, and win anyway. Even the Terrans manage to pull it off from time to time.

@@hughjass5494 Not only that. Carrieras have absolutely 0 DPS compared to BCs. Just check how many carriers are required to shot down a BC. Considering the BC does not use yamato, of course. Even P recall takes ages compared to Tactical Jump, which allows the BC to shut down a few Protoss flyers before teleporting.

Spirit even built the Super Bunker, that is a rarity! I am glad I was able to see that. My boy really do enjoy taking his time and play the game at his own pace xD

i don't think i've seen nearly as many protoss late game wins as any other, they rarely win in the pro games with the skytoss

@@YoungbloodEric BW has this balance where protoss has expnsive, low damage but is extremely tough unit. Here units are expensive, low damage and wet paper. Capital ships are supposed to lack mobility but nevermind, tactical jump. That ability should be deleted. They even have yamato and cheap vikings. The best capital ships and light air

protoss capital ships are just too expensive at this point. they are great units but you are punished every time you lost some air units. while terrans can just spam vikings(carriers cost like two vikings). terran's capital ship is also more versatile with yamato and tactical jump.

Somebody falling asleep while listening to your casting videos definitely is a compliment, you seem to have a calming voice tone. I am watching your videos fo like 5 years maybe and rarely any other SC video impresses me. Still watching your videos in my late 20s having a kid already. @LowkoTV, A decade ago I used to watch starcraft matches at night in bed (anytime I had the chance), and I got used to falling asleep to day[9] and Husky starcraft. Recently I've started sleeping alone again and going through some tough times. I thought back on those old times, and decided to bring some popcorn into bed with me and find a starcraft match to watch, just like I used to; after all, no one can stop me from doing that now. I quickly gravitated towards your channel, I think largely for your positive and upbeat demeanor on a solo-cast and daily uploads. I'm not playing SC2 everyday anymore, but its always entertaining to watch and helps bring back good memories of high school days. I always know there will be a new video to watch to help me decompress if I need it at the end of the day. So yeah: for me, falling asleep to your videos is a huge compliment. It's like a special honor and a meaningful part of my life. I appreciate what you do, keep it up

Late game PvT Air to Air is a sadly a huge skip to me. I can confidently go to the end of the video and expect a short fight that will end in a second with those Yamato Cannons.

Late game PvZ usually goes the same way, disappointing.

Terran Arsenal: Ghost EMP to wipe out Shields to literally everything Nukes that provide insane value late-game Vikings that outrange all protoss air units Ground units that outrange protoss ground units Battlecruisers with Yamato canon that 1-shots voidrays, Tactical jump to get right on top of Protoss army, Insane amount of Defense so interceptors barely deal any damage Infinite Orbital energy for infinite Mules + Scans that can be cast globally Protoss: Expensive, slow, clunky units that can't even fight Terran late game in a head-on fight. Just change the game name to Terrancraft.

While I agree that TvP lategame is pretty abysmally Terran favored, you should probably not spread misinformation LOL. Nukes don't always get good value, they did in this game but certainly don't always get 'insane value' Also..Vikings...outranging Tempests? They're a good unit certainly but give to them for what they're actually good at (insane dps and kite range) rather than just lying. Also, Terran ground units...like all are outranged. Aside from maybe the Adept, Archon, and Sentry, I think every other unit has the same or larger range. Ye, BC stuff is right.

@totallynotminx4682 admittedly I may have exaggerated a tiny bit. HOWEVER, there is a common sight in TvP air battles. Skytoss can't really be the aggressor or they just get decimated. As shown in this game Creator had to be extremely careful. Terran can jump on the army and if the Protoss didn't recall fast enough, bye bye protoss army. I do think Creator botched it in the end when he let his army get Yamato'd.

Against battle cruisers what does Protoss have? Voidrays = 1 shotted by Yamato Carriers = Gets owned by Yamato Phoenixes = does nothing Tempests = Owned by Yamato if not out of range

Kudos to Creator for holding out as much as he did. When terran gets the critical amount of vikings/ghosts my skytoss army usually just evaporates on the first successful EMP hit.

You got a nice voice, it's nice to fall asleep too but also entertaining to watch the whole thing. It's like TV. You have a continuous voice over your videos that it almost makes a rythm, compared to other casters which are so focused on the game. You add some trivia and some fun chit chat. Keep it up lowko!!!! And yes whether you like it or not You are an AMSR channel

26:39 That's really sad to be honest....how come a unit that expensive can be so bad, late attack, heavy. I don't get how BCs can teleport since that should be more a Protoss thing. Obviously every time you see equal BCs and Carriers battle you know is Protoss end.

I frequently watch your videos to fall asleep. I enjoy watching the game casting and I think that's part of the problem. If I'm tired, relaxing on the couch, and in a comfortable place, I will fall asleep immediately. Better than a sleeping pill.

this is something that i have been wondering for a while now why does protoss, the race with the most supply heavy units and slowest units doesnt have something that can disable or slow other enemy units? plus their the only race which cant heal hp (just to be clear i know they have stasis wards but those only work on ground) terran has emp and interference matrix, zerg has fungel groth and neural parasite, protoss has storm and stasis wards but not something to either slow or disable other units

there's the skill of the mothership though, it does slow both movement and attack speed. Plus they do have a superior mobility since they can recall anywhere in the map, whereas both zerg and terran have to move back. And let's not forget warp, which is creating units on spot instead of the other corner. We don't have it that bad there, it's just a positioning thing

I think there is something fundamentally weird about the designs of the races where both terran and zerg are kind of standard races that work around steady levels of production and armies that are meant for large scale engagements, protoss always strives towards creating some sort of an advantage for itself to secure engagements and that is not really possible in an endgame scenario where even if you were really ahead of your opponent 10 minutes ago or whatever, you eventually both settle with maxxed out armies and the protoss army can't really win the engagements, it is still trying to get some sort of an advantage, but to no avail.

It's funny how the whole idea that the new generation don't know about 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock position on the map confuses you so much that this is (I think) the second video you mentioned it lol. Welcome to getting older Lowko, the first time realizations like that hits you, you won't look at the world the same way ever again.

Remember in Battlestar Galactica, where the Cylon ships are chasing down the humans, jumping into their space and the human fleet keeps jumping away? That was this game.

Concur with the sleep comment. I was going to post it a while ago but thought it would come off as rude. It's definitely a compliment. Love putting one of your vids on and drift off. It's true that in modern day, we have electronic clock with number and some adults are not even bother to teach their kid the basic thing because those are thought to be unnecessary. This doesn't mean you should use it lesser, but more, so they might have to find out themselves for such basic skill. Great video!

At 18min 20sec…. Lowko. I love your casts, a lot, and yeah to be honest it was the only thing that could help me sleep for a long time. Like, i would play music all night (I am a professional musician) and would watch your videos till I fell asleep. For me, it really helped with my tinnitus after particularly loud gigs

If you ask me how I would change PvT air battles. Then I'd want to change the Viking, and I see two ways of doing it. 1. Make them light instead of armored to make Pheonixes effective against them. 2. Give carriers an upgrade that gives them an anti-air exclusive liberation zone. This will let them launch their interceptors at any air targets in that zone, but would leave them unable to target ground units and the interceptors could still be shot down. Hopefully this would allow them to screen for Vikings. The Fleet beacon would be a natural choice for where this upgrade would be but I would consider putting it in the Robo Bay instead.

What I really want to see baked into Stormgate is support for what Lowko does with calling games. When Lowko records these videos it would capture a replay of what he is viewing but let me take the audio and either let the replay drive or I could take over and change my view of the actual game reply. And if Lowko jumps back it should also jump back in sync with the audio. There could be an optional green screen mode so that there could be an overlay over the game reply as well. Then either have the integrated with KZread or build it into the game. This would make Stormgate a lot more fun.

Lol, I thought I am the only one😂 I actually put your latest video when I go to bed, basically every day for the past 3-4 years. Before I used BBT, and before Family Guy to fall asleep. Everything else does not work. My wife got used to it.

Literally watching this for the third time because I keep falling asleep to Lowko's casts and I wanna finish the game, and he goes ahead and calls me out for falling... asleep... 💤

Seemingly, for every ability Protoss has, Terran has something that does the same but better. Storm? Sure it's a nice DoT but how about instant, unkiteable damage? Feedback? Sure, single target is cool and all but how about deleting 5k energy in 1 shot? Recall? Yeah that's nice but what if it had a real short cooldown and it didn't cost any energy and had a shorter animation?
