Had to see this, I've been following uThermal since Lowko featured him here and said he has a channel. Very entertaining series, and he's actually winning most of the games even with just Helions and Raven by a HUGE margin!

There is this old trick we used to see, and now it's mostly useless, but it could have been used by uThermal at some points: Scan and drop mules on siege tanks lines, friendly fire taking care of a few tanks where this is the only ground defense, then you can run the hellions in.

uThermal just felt what late game zerg ladder heroes feel whenever their entire army is absolutely demolished by a single unit: ghosts

Lowko, you _so_ need to cover more of the Raven challenge and the Ghost challenge. The raven/hellion have something like a 78% win rate and the ghosts are even better. Some of those nuke drops are orgasmic.

The problem is that there isn't really anything exciting or new to each of his matches. Maybe he gets a great nuke, or takes a great fight with auto turrets. How do you really comment on that? Oh here comes the attack, twenty auto turrets and flies away, next battle now, oh twenty auto turrets and flies away. It is entertaining to watch, but not commentate. Is it good that he took one of uThermals losses, as it made things more interesting to cast. This is coming from someone who has watched all those matches.

22:00 Jason STILL has not gotten ship weapons, which feels like a massive problem against the Ravens at +3 armour

Started watching him awhile ago, he started with mass ghost, really entertaining. I don't know how you guys play at these levels, I would get beat by the comp.

I really didn't like Raven challenge that much but Ghost challenge was different kind of beast, it has drama, pack of action and unexpected wins/loses *chief kiss* hope you can cover few of them in future Lowko

The proxy hatch challenge is neat too

very cool. feels very nice when you see the games from Lowko view after watching Marc's view. and having both commentaries. i loved how Lowko was on point about the game. he was correct about the first fight. Marc said we dead if he attacks after that too. he couldn't win bcs he needed to be attacked instead of attacking himself. but when the ghost came, it was all done.

I'd like to see how different tactics would transform this game. UThermal was crippled by ghosts and yet kept his Ravens clumped for juicy EMPs. I was frustrated watching his POV....as an armchair critic - These guys are waaay beyond my skill level!!!

When i saw the thumbnail i had flashbacks of when the seeker missile did damage and stacked...

Yesm the "Building armour" is also a good Raven-upgrade! The +2 armour helps the Auto turrets, because they counts as bulidings, not units. 😀 Great video! 😍

You'd think blue flame hellions would do well against Ghosts, except that despite appearances, Ghosts are not actually light units. They actually have no armor tag at all. Hellions/hellbats are light units though, so Ghosts kick the shit out of them.

I stumbled on uthermal about 3 months ago and have loved all his content. Extremely talented and the strategies he comes up with are so crazy and they actually work. One thing you thermal stresses constantly is efficiency of each unit.

8000 energy would be 40 Ravens at 200 energy - you were basically right.

Thermys challenges made me watching sc2 matches again after couple years break. Now iam here and enjoy Lowkos stuff as i never been away. Solid stuff Lowko, thx for constantly creating content for so many years (yeah we grow old i guess, but Lowko looks like it was yesterday he started this channel, im jealous :))

I recently discovered is ghosts- and also the raven+hellion-to-grandmaster series. Very insightful and entertaining... And he's dutch, but I thought he was spanish because he says "vamos" and "adios" a lot :)

I will often watch your videos before going to sleep, and end dreaming that I'm playing Starcraft and you're casting it. Makes for some interesting dreams (and interesting Starcraft, because it doesn't make sense)

As in that one episode of What We Do in the Shadows: "We sent ravens. We sent FIVE HUNDRED ravens!"

Had a severe toilet situation while watching this video. Thank you for making the experience enjoyable. Great commentary and series. I will soon buy a shirt because of this.

I did the math lowko and you were indeed very close in your math, before the engagement the murder of ravens counted in at 50 each one holds a max of 200 hundred energy then the hero ghost emped 10,000 energy away pretty sweet play if you ask me and definitely warrants the ouch response

I tried to sync up this cast with uThermal's view of it, and his video of the match actually plays slightly faster than this cast of it. Nonetheless, it was really interesting seeing both views of the match. Nice work by both of you :)

You can lockdown ghosts, so a properly split clone of lockdowns on the ghosts prior to the rest of the mass ravens deals with the emp and ghosts.

The last 20 minutes were total scan galore which fit well to Jason's own challenge of not clocking Ghosts.

36:50 - Just like the plural of Lego is Lego!

There's a point at about the 20 minute mark where you can sacrifice many SCVs and simply use mules for minerals leaving much supply for really massive hellion/hellbat attacks.

Unfortunately, that would be outside the challenge rules so he couldn't use ghosts.

so the reason sheep doesnt have a plural meaning is because during old english we got rid of a bunch of old plural word. it used to be called sceap, the same is said for deer and swine who are both singular and plural words

im just curious would fast banshees do well against this? the banshees are fast enough to run from autoturrets and ravens but can completely counter the hellions. Am i not seeing something with this one?

If you put turrets around the hellions, you can’t exactly attack them.

Ravens are light armor. So after the EMP's. The ghosts will do bonus attack damage to them and kill them fast.

Honestly I think the weirdest thing about this whole match was seeing a completely empty production tab over 25 minutes in.

Just in case no one confirmed. That one emp did about 4,000 energy damage; assuming each of the ravens had at least a hundred energy. Which is 80 auto turrets worth of energy. Ouch indeed, sir.

MMR is a guideline, and doesn't mean everything Lowko, Harstem told me so, not directly but whilst I was watching a video. Don't take it with a grain of salt ;P

Phoenix can out maneuver the ravens. Ravens run out of energy and then die. Mass queens would shut them down too.

Fun try, though I don't quite see why you'd keep them clumped up? It's not like it gives you more space for autoturrets, so why not split off groups and destroy whatever the enemy isn't guarding? Also, probably consider allowing marines in instead of hellions, to burn durn the missile turret spam. Which isn't just anti-air: it also denies space. Widow mines might also be interesting here? X-only should probably allow a bit of versatility there to deal with hard counters.

The control is just that hard. Flying units clump up automatically. It looks like it's hard to get an advantageous engagement even when having just a group of them. Imagine controlling two or more separate groups at the same time and make them get an engagement that a single one can't take.

@@Leonhart_93 Yeah I get the clumping up part, hence the idea to split groups. Can't clump up when they're half a map away ;). But I'd agree it would take godlike skill to do it well. Then again, we have some demigods around :)

@@sorsocksfake I know it seems not that hard, I thought the same. But since he briefly split them then gave up tells me it's actually not easy or advantageous in any way. Pros often split armies to attack on multiple flanks, but I don't think it can be done here, there is no undefended flank, there is no point. I guess his single way to win was killing the army.
