@@xRituaI starbase peaked 10k players simeltaneously at launch, thats far from dead, and quite frankly quite a good launch for an indie game considering the niche. Be pesimistic if you like, however based on this video it seems the devs know which areas of their game need the most attention immediately, and im all for it.

Huge really awesome plans mentioned in this video - many of them essential and very needed for QOL and to have a thriving MMO population. Personally, I will only be coming back once these are all on the live server and not just ideas that haven't even made it onto the test server yet.

Glad to have you back! This game has incredible potential, I sincerely hope you're able to fully realise that potential now that development is back on. This looks like a great list of additions and improvements, although I do feel some of them could run counter to the core ideas behind the game if not carefully implemented (and possibly replaced with more refined solutions down the line), particularly all ships being able to warp and insurance. Both features present an immediate quality-of-life improvement to the players in terms of minute-to-minute gameplay, but run the risk of discouraging players to explore, cooperate, and build infrastructure to overcome the limits they represent in the long term by simply removing those limits, which I don't think is an ideal outcome. I'm sure we've all played an open-world game that starts off feeling large and exciting, but ends up feeling small and uninteresting due to overly-generous fast travel, for example. In any case, whatever misgivings I may have, I look forward to seeing the game grow and evolve over the coming months and years!

i agree but i think the devs are aware of this, and so i trust they will implement these things in a way that is appropriate. After all, insurance and aeroplanes exist in real life, but nobody wants to crash their car, and planet earth still seems pretty big! Besides, learning from mistakes is honorable and respectable.

OMG - In future updates: Warp, Map, Markers, Trade panel from map! Preparing for nations and PVE content, LOD optimizations, Ship Insurance Editors for build of stations and capital ships, Inventory 2.0, Ship Blueprint selling Make it real, and i will buy skins and emotes for sure🙂

I am HYPED for the continued development of Starbase. I'm very excited to see what comes next. Thank you FB for not shelving Starbase forever.

We are SO back. Not only in the sense of "this game is being made again!!!", but these changes (especially looking into PvE content, and territory control mechanics) are VERY promising and feel like strides in the right direction!

as someone who has no interest in PvP. Nice to see some PVE features. Maybe even PvE server in the future? Or player hosted community servers would be great.

Please keep it all in one single universe. Thanks to different Safe Zone settings, there for sure can be areas with PvP damage turned off.

@@erador3101 this. We can coexist! it gives PvE players an incentive to "purchase" an escort from fighter ships to traverse dangerous locations and such. EMERGENT GAMEPLAY!!! WOOOOOOO!!!!

tbh if you're not interested in PVP, why are u even playing MMOs? Like there's coop games and singleplayer markets entirely for you, mmo usually means pvp

I am still of the opinion that the dev team leadership messed up so colossally bad. They should have listened to a majority of the closed alpha tester survey telling them to NOT release the game yet. and then they did it anyway. and took all the semi working features and gameplay out, which left the release with 10% of it's actual gameplay. I ended up leading a faction of 70/90 people (due to a funny joke.), whom i had to admit to that the game's release was just an empty husk of what it was during the closed alpha. every single one of them is gone, and i hope they found a better place. if this game can be restored to it's pre-release glory, i will sing all of it's praises again, until that happens, i can only wish what's left of the dev team the best of luck. o7 P.S "I'm not Recruiting." :^)

Fully agreed, Close alpha was miles ahead of current starbase. - Belt V1, was the best belt to mine in - Honestly we had more functionality, remember LOTS (althought not working fully) we could rent plots of space on a space station... - We had a functional market place ... - old loading of ships (you fully loaded up to 4 ships in your vacinity) which resulted in way better combat, not to mention not these "fake" explosions that are played.
