Ok) Of Course it's not. But it is more. Some texture sharpening and semi normal maps (actually it isn't). Plus little more lens flares on helmet, plus DOF like effect on helmet, plus little more bloom from light sources and more. All these effects not overwhelming whole picture and original art style of game. But makes it prettier.

Overall, I prefer the original, especially because of how blurry the health bar is in the mod. But it's not a fair comparison because in the original, you have bump mapping turned off, whereas it's on in the 2017 version.

@@jeezed2950 actually now its possible to properly switch every setting to high. There are some updated mods on nexus, and its work perfectly with at least GOG version of the game. And yep, in this video (at those time) i tryed to make game look little better. But rnow result is just not good. Some guys out there right now do proper retexture and relighting mod. And with proper RTgi game will look 2 times better.

The burry hub makes sense. It's close to your face and your focus' is towards the battle if you think about it.

I dont know what it is but i love the new HUD, it makes the helmet sections feel a lot more like a helmet than just a border to your screen. i love it

Actually you can just turn it off in ReShade settings. Effect is named "TiltShift"

The blurry HUD increases immersion I mean most of the things that are not directly in your line of sight (specially up close) look blurry in real life. It looks awesome to me.

Graphics look like a Oculus Rift game -> bad. Original graphics are more pleasing to the eye (even tho low res)

@@klingklong56 Leon0628 Graphics Fix has Readme in it. Second ReShade installation "ReShade_Setup_3.0.8". Select DX9 when program asks. Then copy "d3d8.dll" and "Republic Commando HD.ini" near game ".exe". When game starts press Shift+F2 then select "Republic Commando HD" preset from list. But better make your own one. This is some unplayable and maken when i not sury understand how it is works.

Chromatic aberration was a mistake. The depth of field effect doesn't look too shabby though.

Tbh the opening level is one of my most liked level in gaming history. But sadly, it's also my most played level of republic commando, since I never got to leave geonosis. It was so God damn hard for me as a 12 year old....

Link in description Sergio. Download it and paste to system directory in game folder. And even better, google reshade website and read how to install it. Also there is some "new" ini's (settings) in my discord pinned messages. It better in all aspects.

Nice mod! If only the aspect ratio could also be fixed, that would be great! Now with the widescreen the ratio is stretched and the circle at the center becomes ellipse.

Yep but it could be fixed by your self if you want! Just search for a "Celidor Widescreen Hud Fix". I prefer do not use it because of some scratched helmet (HUD) look in his mod.

Well, first of, Commandos are CLONES of Jango Fett, one of the most dangerous bounty hunters in the galaxy far far away, a long time ago. While they are clones, they do have slight genetic modifications and they have a very high level of training. These guys carry a lot of equipment, weapon attachements and explosives. They're able to go on assassination, infiltration, stealth and even recon / investigation / information gathering missions. Commandos are not good at large scale combat though, and are used in only a few scenarios. They depend on their squadmates and need intel with instructions in order to make the mission a success. Their suits have thick armour with bacta injectors and health scanners. They also have communication links, squad status scanners, etc. They are able to hack into almost any system, as well as create their own path with explosives, are able to slice security, patch into systems and scan the ship for it's vulnerabilities. Their heads up display has graphic projectors with different visor modes and ammunition scans. Commandos are "brothers", but they have to follow orders, or they will be terminated along with any clone traitor of the Republic. Commandos do not move fast, as they carry a load of equipment, and are able to pick up various other heavy weapons. Commandos also have blades, shields, protable bacta tanks, visor vipers, many types of grenades, ammo holders, backpack attachments,... They can seal up their suits and go into space. Commandos battled all types of droids, as well as aliens, rarely some of them killed their own men at and after order 66 (unless you play the game killing clone troopers). Commandos are in the game able to "revive" their squadmates. The leader can assist their squad with orders and tell them where to heal, stand, take position. They can use a stealthy approach at the enemy, or just blow them up into bits. While both Spartans and clone commandos are cool, they are NOT the same, not even close. And to say the least, republic commando units have a highly superior technological advantage in a time LONG before spartans even appear.

Ну так а большего то сложно добиться постобработкой. На самом деле для текстур выкручена резкость, но чтобы картинка не резала глазки включено оба имеющихся сглаживания. На видео это конечно не так заметно но за счет этого текстуры в игре выглядят четче. Плюс включен блюм, но не бездумно а лишь на самые яркие поверхности близкие к абсолютно белому. Плюс как бы DOF для внутренней стороны шлема. Для этого используется легкий TiltShift. Ну и наверняка что то еще уже не вспомню. Вспомнил COLORGRADING скрученный через Ambient Ligth. Подсвечивает большую часть картинки тем цветом которого больше всего на экране. Желтая пустыня - желтая. Зеленый Кашиик - зеленый. Но лишь слегка. п.с. Для игры можно найти слегка измененные текстуры и модельки персонажей на том же moddb. Только вот мне они совершенно не понравились. Ретекстур же мира никто и не делал, так что этот вариант не самое плохое решение.

Уверен можно было сделать в разы лучше. Там столько лишних эффектов, один Chromatic aberration чего стоит. Сейчас в ReShade появился вполне приемлемый HDR заменитель. Если правильно настроить, наверное любая старая игра будет выглядеть красивее.

я обновил ссылку в описании видео. В архиве теперь лежит рабочая версия решейда и фикс от Леона. Устанавливать так же как на любую другую игру. Не забудь закинуть d3d8.dll и вообще все что есть в архиве после установки решейда.

Lol all these people saying "uh I don't see a difference" are blind, you can literally SEE the edges look smoother and the armor textures are WAY better, you can see scratches on the armor in the mod but not in the original, people are just stubborn purists.

Not everyone like reshade sharpness. Nowadays there are really cool shaders that sharpen everything except edges. No additional aliasing and more texture detail.

Если ты о решейде то сейчас он переделан до неузнаваемости. Так что мои пресеты устарели напрочь. Плюс сейчас понимаю что не так оно и красиво выглядело.

I've never understood that updating of old games. You can't do much unless you remake the whole game or heavily mod it to the point of it being unrecognizable because the original art will always be ugly.
