Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Did Something Incredible - Luke Stephens
Ойындар
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has gripped me with its story and captivated me with its gameplay. It’s a game that is so surprisingly good and narratively focussed that it’s still hard to believe it came from EA. But after much consideration, I decided I needed to make this video; a video where I praised EA for doing something so antithetical to their standard modus-operandi. After all, if we never praise a bad company for doing something good but rather only criticize them when they screw up, how can we expect them to turn their act around and improve? We likely can’t. Not to mention that if you never offer praise, your criticisms aren’t actually worth anything. You’re just a troglodyte that profits off of the mistakes of others; you’re a leach. But if you praise someone or a group of people when they do something great, while holding them accountable for their mistakes, you can rest assured that you’re helping make the industry a better place, one step at a time.
So, while it may seem weird to praise EA, I think it’s important to do so; Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is a fantastically surprising game, and it has done something incredible: forced the gaming community to praise the Goliath of the industry.

Yes! Respawn deserves a ton of praise for the game they've developed here. Its a wonderful game with tons of lore and attention to detail. Its by no means perfect, but its an excellent game and they did a great job! I still dont trust EA as far as I can throw, but this is a good first step. I need to see a streak of good, polished, star wars games before I even think about trusting EA with the SW franchise again. I also believe this game was in development before Respawn was acquired by EA... and once LucasFilm stepped in, after the Battlefront1&2 debacle, they prob told them to fuck off lol. I'm glad this game worked out the way it did. Its my personal GOTY! But hey, people can have different opinions and preferences and thats ok :)

Ishan Hettiarachchi Respawn was developing the game before it was approved to become a Star Wars game. It’s pointed out sometime in the beginning of their documentary about the development of the game. As for EA promoting them, if anything people were less likely to buy the game BECAUSE of EA’s name on it. Respawn promotes themselves (They’re the creators of MW1, MW2, and Titanfall 1 and 2). I won’t deny the fact that Lucasarts wrote the story, but the game in it of itself is definitely an achievement of Respawn.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order is a masterpiece, one of my favorite Star Wars games of all time, Cal was such a deep protagonist, you felt like you were on the journey with him, the graphics, fun gameplay, perfect blend of Uncharted and God of War style exploration and Dark Souls style combat, loved the story, 👏👏👏
2 and a half minutes in and you're just talking about your name. Ya lost me. I have spoken.
It's very polish on PC though, didn't found any bug or any issue at all.
I really enjoyed playing Jedi: Fallen Order! BD-1 was absolutely the best part of it, but I liked how you piece together the pasts of the characters as you go along and the developing camaraderie of the members of the Mantis as you progress through the game. The most consistent bugs I encountered playing on a PS4 were texture pop-ins, mostly on Cal's clothing in the customization menu, but also periodically throughout the levels (though definitely not as bad as the pop-ins from your footage). There was one time on Dathomir when I somehow rolled into the ground and it wasn't going solid again (I had to kill a bounty hunter while Cal was half submerged in the ground before it popped back in and he was standing normally), one time on Zeffo when a security droid cornered me behind some crates and I was completely stuck and no amount of slashing at the droid or rolling or jumping could get me out, and one time on Bogano when I was exploring that the game froze and I had to restart the game. I hated every time I had to slide in a level; the controls were awful and I don't think I ever was able to make it down on the first try unless there were walls on either side of the slide and no gaps to jump over. Otherwise, I thought it was really fun to play, the parry animations particularly made me want to master the timing, even if they weren't totally necessary for a lot of enemies.

Watch the behind the scenes on this in the bonus menu, Respawn was working on this since 2013 and they started out with a couple dozen people working on it to well over 100. Alot of the people that were working on this never worked together on a game so they were explaining that they had some communication issues but other than that they were for the most part fine, plus they had the people from Lucasarts giving them the OK to use certain things. The behind the scenes is really fascinating, I would recommend to anyone who wants to see how it was made.
12:50 I jumped in there too, but there's an easy way out. Just pull the power cable and use it as a rope to swing out. Played it on PS4 and had almost no issues. It's really baffling how much more polished the game is for PC, from a technical standpoint; it's usually the other way around. Like, I'm in my second playthrough with about 40~ hours played overall and I haven't had a single crash, texture pop-in, barely any lags/freezes and just generally very good performance with a computer that runs on 5 year old hardware.
You had some pretty crazy glitches that I hadn't seen in my own or others gameplay I feel bad for you. Could be machine related I have a couple of playstations and one is older than the other and I tend to get far worse performance out of the older one as it has been used heavily.

The lack of polish in some area is due to ea and Disney only giving respawn 2 years
I've heard consoles are suffering from the rendering on the game but from my experience and others on pc I was surprised that I had only one crash and no render issues but it definitely needs an update to fix the various issues on console.
The incredible thing is that it's a very good game and EA's name is stamped on it
I never had any glitches on pc
I honestly never had those pop-in issues like you did (One X as well.) My biggest complaint was that the frame stuttering in "performance" mode was really bad.

Is not incredible anymore, is just that you, not you personally of course but generally speaking, have so low standards nowadays that forgot about what a really good story is. 12:55 I noticed that area when I was playing too. There’s even a force field wall thing that’s blocking it but turns off when you unplug the cable thing. What I think happened was they planned to put a secret chest or whatever there, but since you can’t go back to that location after you go for the story, they decided to scrap it so people aren’t forced to start the game over to 100% complete it. And they probably just didn’t have time to cover up the little room so they just left it there to be confusing. That’s just my guess, maybe I’m wrong, but it seems like what happened to me.

I got it for PC. I had absolutely no glitches or technical issues. I ran the game on Ultra (epic) settings, 1080p with a GTX 1660 6GB (not the TI version). FPS was consantly around 55-60fps with a couple moments where it dropped to 24-30. I absolutely loved the game!
It was a good game but it lacks content, post-game, and a new game+ mode. The planets felt a little empty, add more Alien NPCS.
is there any "just wow" merch? i think thatd be neat. quality work per usual luke 👌🏼
I honestly had 0 of these graphic issues on pc so pretty suprised to see it
I legitimately made it thru the entire game with no visual glitches at all (ran on ps4)

I Just discovered your channel and I must say I love the way you review, I will subscribe
I'm surprised to hear the troubles on the XBOX OneX.... I played it on a base PS4 and there were lag problems, but virtually none of the graphical/processing errors you mentioned. I also had a weird bug where I kept using the force despite pressing no buttons and actively pushing out both the triggers on my console. That aside, I largely agree with your critiques of the game design.
Wow... that XBox glitching was serious. I never experienced game-breaking loading issues like that on my vanilla PS4.
Those graphical glitches are insane. I was playing on an original PS4, and the worst I ever got were some minor loading issues on Kashyyyk and a weird bug in the first hour where my clothes were fluttering on the Mantis. I never got anything like those things you showed on Zeffo.
Probably the most annoying glitch was clearing out an area full of enemies Then going to meditate to heal up To have them all respawn when you stop meditating
I’ve been loving this game despite all the glitches. So now this is the second time this year (in the same month) EA did something I feel is right. Along side this, Need for Speed Heat is actually a fun need for Speed game with very little micro transactions. I hope they keep this trend up
Anyway, congrats for the show. I rarely praise (although I follow), but I must thank you for the quality of your content, your style, sincerity and acumen! Luca
13:02 *YUPPPP!* I found that and went back on multipule occasions to see if anything had appeared but *no*
It’s weird how reviewers have technical problems I haven’t had a single crash yet on Xbox one x and I’ve 100% it
10:00 happy to report I had 0 of the mentioned issues on the PC version. The entire game felt incredibly polished, had no bugs that I can recall and no issues. The whole game looked great, ran awesome at 100+fps on max settings. I got 100% on all maps and clocked in at about 29 hours.
Tbh I barely experienced any of these severe bugs you described, and I played on a pc with a 1060, and 8gb ram. But I did run it on an SSD so I don't know if that made a big difference, it's the only thing I can think off that reduced a lot of the load in bugs.
I hope they turn Jedi Fallen Order into a trilogy. Hell, give me 10 sequels. Can't get enough of this game
You can force pull the cable from the wall if you haven’t connected it to anything if you get stuck in that random hiding hole
Damn I didn't have glitches that extreme. I did have a t-posing flying second sister that fixes itself when she attacks though
Fair review from a non Star Wars fan. I think the part you miss when you aren't a fan is the shock value from key points of the storyline AKA Trillas story, Order 66 flashback and the Vader ending. These moments took the game above and beyond 4 even the average Star Wars fan.
I was playing on a PS4 Pro and I didn't experience any of those weird glitches at all. The most unusual thing I saw was some weird enemy pop in on Dathomir, but that was honestly the extent of it.
I feel like EA executives kept making appointments with the studio and they would just tell them the wrong room number and somehow avoided the lootbox bullshit.
I also found that little cave, and thought wtf. Another odd thing is that it initially has a red force wall in front of it, that turns off when you switch the wire. -- Also if you have double jump and pull you can just pull the wire to you to get out. No need to jump off.
Just wanna chip in on the pop-in issues. Half-way through the game already and i had no such problems. Playing on PC - Ryzen 5 2600 with GTX 1660 6gb. Running at 60fps on High/Epic settings. It might just be a console problem.
This game gave me the same feeling that KOTOR 2 did. There were things that were really dialed in, and then other parts that were just plain unfinished and almost scream that they were scrapped due to time/budget. Dathomir felt like this in a lot of ways - the Nightbrother Archers especially. It feels like when you finally acquire your last companion that the game is only 60-65% complete. Then it wraps up in such an extreme fashion that you almost get whiplash from the abrupt end. As though they had more story planned, but had to cut it. Aside from the KOTOR 2 reference, the game almost feels like Soul Reaver 1 did - where we knew there were things just out of reach or locked-off but gave the player the feeling of, "Man, I should be able to reach that...why can't I?" Also - while I enjoy Sabering the rainbow. I felt like your choice on Ilum should have been permanent, and that was the color you had for the rest of the game...instead it felt like you made a choice, that ultimately didn't matter 2 seconds later. Sort of took the emotional gravity of that moment away a bit.
What is the game shown at the start with the dude rowing a raft?

It's crazy that you had those bugs. I never experienced a single hitch in my entire playthrough. My only criticism of the game is the fact that it's a soulslike with animations locking you out of gameplay (like being unable to cancel an animation for finding the little force memory spots and getting attacked, or when you finish altering your lightsaber and sticking through a 5 second ignition animation without being able to skip it... etc...).
Oddly enough I had almost no bugs through my playthrough at all, however I had WAAAAAAAAAAAY more complaints about the level design and other things to do with traversal than you bothered to mention
I hope they make a Luke Skywalker version, where we get to explore what ACTUALLY happened to him after Return of the Jedi.
I had no issues with the graphics on a gaming laptop.
That's bizarre, usually console versions are more polished than PC, but I didn't have any memorable glitches like pop-ins when playing on PC.
no microtransactions and I had a couple glitches where the zabraks on dathomir t-posed for a few seconds but the rest of the game played beautifully, amazing story and awesome gameplay!
I feel I should mention that I experienced very few bugs or glitches in my time. There was some texture pop-in I noticed, but nothing like what is shown here. Just flat textures and such. I had one cutscene where the background didn't load, but other than that I had a very smooth, solid experience. I was playing on PS4 Pro.
