They are working really hard to try and burn Star Wars down to the ground and salt the earth to ensure nothing can grow from it. Mando seasons 1&2 were good, Andor has its fans... and then they went out of their war to torch everything else down and ensure nothing good is made because that would imply they were the ones making garbage on purpose rather than the fans having too high of an expectation for them to be held to. This woman is being shoved into the front to once again play the three things. 1) Narcissists - A woman has been in charge of star wars for 10 years now... and yet it is only 'now' with this new woman does she claim that a woman is at the helm to further pat herself on the back and ignore the literal woman in charge of Lucas Film. It's not about diversity. It's about satisfying their own egos. 2) Politics - It's not about making a story. It's about making a message on someone else's money. It's not about redeeming the sequel trilogy. It's about using it as a message board to further cement it into the ground as a failed project. 3) Work Culture - The woman admitted she wasn't even qualified for the job. She knows nothing about what she is doing and has no experience with films and is being given a film series without any qualifications for it. Except she will make men uncomfortable, insult people around the office, and make sure anyone who doesn't praise her or follow her political viewpoints will be oppressed if not kicked out of the studio. Can't let anyone who wants or likes Star Wars remain within the company to try and save it after all.

What I'm curious about is I know these movies and projects are not generating the revenue needed, so they're being made with the knowledge they're going to flop or underperform. So what's the motivation behind it? Are they tax right offs? Is it Kathleen Kennedy's final fuck you before they let her go this year? It seems like they'd literally make more money if they didn't make a movie at all, let alone one with Rey and this director.

Opening the door to new creative voices isn't a bad thing. But what Lucasfilms seems to be doing feels like a group of girls putting a sign on the door saying "No Boys allowed". It saids a lot that the Boba Fett show has Fennec be the one to kill the person responsible for everything in the series. Or how the Obi Wan show has the "rematch of the century" ultimately be the opener to Riva deciding NOT to kill a little boy. It's hard to get excited for Star Wars and I hate that. Informative video like always Jellyfish. Nice new tie.

Can she tell the story the way the writers intend, or does she have to 'interpret' it? Will there be a well written story? That's more important than what's in her pants.

That's soo cringy when she announces "The Jedi Master! Okay! Come on out!" How can a Rey spin-off movie possibly be good let alone "Fun" with this Activist woman making it!? If she's got no real "experience" of *Filmmaking* i mean if you watch George Lucas starwars movies, even in the prequels, you cannot deny the way those movie are SHOT was very Creative, like the way he films all the scenes if the Jedi being wiped out during Order 66. Remember that shot where the blue twi'lek Jedi woman Aylaa Secura is leading her Clone Trooper squad on Felucia, and then they suddenley turn on her and just shot her to death? The camera then pans upward, away last this mushroom-tree, as we see her body lying on the ground still getting shot up. Its seriously brutal! But George Lucas shoots that whole scene so damn well, he never shows you the actual gruesome detail, i mean he never stays on that. But the way he shoots it still leaves her death in your head, its very effective. And what about the scene where Anakin enters the Jedi Council Chamber, where the younglings are hiding. The way George shoots that scene, showing only anakin's hand actuvating his lightsaber as the kids flinch and then he cuts, so effective. My point here is this is creatuve *Filmmaking* and i dont believe this Obaid Chinoy woman has that, i think she will get in over her head and Kennedy will end up having to call in a actuak director to kind of "Ghost Direct" most of this Rey movie, and they'll end up in another Nia DeCosta - the Marvels situation.

Ah Rogue Squadron... Something that could have been awesome looking at the missions of one of the most important rebel fighter squads. Star Wars as a universe is so very cool. It's a shame Disney continue to be awful stewards.

Acctually...If they have to make a Movie about Rey again i could see that it could work with a Director that acctually cared about females and their plight. Which i would not for a second believe, anyone with real decision power in Star Wars for the last 10 Years, did. Still...that 100+ Million Dollar films could REALLY need someone that is an Artist in Cinematography for a change. Everything looks at best, ok. I remember One(1) shot from this movies that really got me and that was a cheap 3D Trick with a Star Destroyer(And just because for a change i did see the effect instead of having a immersive experience about how it fells to need Glasses)

Personally don't really care if it's a man or woman directing, as long as they're hired for their skill in the field and not just their identity. Which unfortunately it looks like this gal is... As for Daisy Ridley, I actually like her as an actress, and while her character was MASSIVELY botched in the 8th and 9th movie, I think she did a good job, given what she had to work with. Not so sure a continuation of her story is such a good idea though, but fingers crossed I'm mistaken

I think the issue was the implementation and the kind of way the messeges and politics are now represented in star wars. the old movies where political and had pretty obvious counterparts in history like nazis, weimar republic and values one should strive to achieve. Buuut they where much more subtle, accepted and better implemented. Plus the whole feminism and justice debate isnt rly a debate as much as everyone just hating on eachother.

The thing Lucasfilm forgets is all the women who will ever like Star Wars already did and have been getting driven away. NO pandering will get the rest to enjoy it. Barbie did well among women because it was a decently good movie that was SPECIFICALLY made with the intention that they are the main audience, but men can enjoy it too. They reeeeeaaaally should have realised this by now but they wont. As for escapism...yeah I use morally grey stuff like the Expanse or Andor, and the path to my total disinterest in happier campier escapism was started by disney, who killed my interest in star wars with apathy and horrible content

Which is a very repressive country. BUT I don’t see any qualifications really why she should direct this one. If she does, please for the love of Lucas get some people to limit everything.

Maybe we could try to look at this with a light heart. We are no longer the target audience of this franchise, that is something sad we have to accept. But look how much fun and entertainment we are already having watching channels like this working to provide insights on this new trainwreck. Imagine how fun it is going be to watching this blockbuster busting itself. I do hope it costs ovet 600M to produce, that they fire many writers, that the release dates are postponed, that everything becomes surrounded by chaos. The real life drama being prepared is already much funnier than the movie

Where women and different sexes are not only empowered it is done not just as a checklist on a box but because it fits the story 🫡 I miss old Star wars but you cannot get me to accept the new.

Yeah whatever, Disney sucks, as long as we get the six movies, yes, six movies, KOTOR, Republic Commando, Battlefront 1 and 2, the good ones, not the crummy EA remake, and the Revenge of the Sith game, that's really all you need, might as well throw in the lego games as well, they were pretty good for what they were back in the day,

I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with wanting to have an activist message in a story, but it's *so easy* to shoehorn it in where it's completely unnecessary. And really, trying to appeal to women by having Star Wars go "GIRL POWER IS AWESOME AND WE HAVE THE FIRST FEMALE PROTAGONIST" or whatever is just the opposite side of the gender exclusivity coin. Disney & Lucasfilm would do well to learn from Nintendo, they handle gender dynamics way better.

Don't get her wrong, making bigots uncomfortable is fun, but saying that all men are automatically bigots is sexism. And if her goal is actually to make men in general uncomfortable, that's just very unfortunate, because that's 80% of the fanbase, so nobody is going to watch her new star wars. Activism in all honors, but making something nobody wants is just fiscally stupid, as hollywood is slowly learning
