"Star Wars" Endor Wargame
Ойындар
This week on Little Wars TV, let's make the jump to hyperspace to a galaxy far, far away! We are re-fighting the Battle of Endor from the 1983 Star Wars classic, "Return of the Jedi," using the Legion rules from Fantasy Flight Games. Can Han, Leia, and Chewie break into the Imperial bunker to disable shield generator for the Death Star before it's too late?
But before we play our Star Wars battle, Keith and Brian talk about the state of historical wargaming today, and how science fiction and fantasy games can serve as a gateway to the historical side of the hobby. If you'd like to see us fight some of the most famous battles in military history on the tabletop, be sure to subscribe to Little Wars TV!

Parody music in this episode is performed solo, acapella, by Stephen Gashler and is licensed through a Creative Commons Attribution. Thanks for the great Star Wars renditions, Stephen!

Please please please get in character and do this more often. This was just the right kind of low budget + quality effort that keeps me going.

I think I would be cool for you guys to play the battle of Hoth and see if the rebels could have actually won.

I would absolutely love to do Hoth some day. I hope FFG releases an AT-AT model. Though I understand there are 3D printed and other toy options out there.

That's what she said!!!!
An expansion of just dozens of Jar Jar's. That is the true definition of bliss.
This was the most fun of the episodes I have played in. Beyond thrilled with how it turned out. Great work Steve, Greg and anyone else who did the editing.

You should create a lord of the rings.
0:20 I was really expecting him to say: "In order to understand the great mystery one must study all it's elements. Not just the dogmatic view of the historical wargamers."
I think Fantasy Flight should make an expansion that recreates the classic scene where force ghost Spock uses his sonic screwdriver to get the babel fish out of Gollum's ear.
Oh my goodness the intro had me dying.

Really enjoyable. You need to do something like this, say, 20% of the time, it breaths some fresh air into things and, hopefully opens up your audience. Well done.
legion got me into wargaming. Now I have 3 other completed historical wargame projects

I pretty much came to gaming broadly through Star Wars.
Gotta admit, I'd love to see an expansion with Republic Commandos. Or a Geonosian set for the CIS, that too would be fun
Absolutely love this, I myself got into Historical after being introduced to Sci-fi wargaming! I would absolutely love a Mandolorian and Jawa expansion to replay out that scene from The Mandolorian where he tries to assault a sand crawler!! 😂 Cant wait to see what scenario or battle you play out next, honestly my favourite channel for narrative historical battles we all know and love!

theres amazing 3d printable mandos out there idk about jawas tho
I just recently finished playing Jedi: Fallen Order, and I think a pack with Cal Kestis and his crew would be a no-brainer. Since FFG usually releases in pairs, you could also have the Second Sister and Purge Troopers come out alongside. This was a great episode, and thank you all for putting it out!!
This was a hoot. Also the acapella music was utterly brilliant.
Great episode. I watched it and went and got my son and watched it again with him. We agree it is the best of the Legion Batreps we have watched. We want an AT-AT expansion.
I agree with everything in the intro, if historical gaming is to grow it has to really embrace fantasy/scifi. Here in the PNW, at our big convention, Enfilade, we see a growing number of those games, and that are fun, draw in players, who then get involved with the other games. As far as a supplement, since I am not that familiar with the game, I would say "Capture the Star Destroyer" sort of like Space Hulk? on ship fighting to take or clear out resistance.

The reason they ended it like that is because each side is given a finite amount of those command cards for each game, so presumably, once the cards ran out, that's when they decided the battle would end
after going on 4 years playng 40k im getting the samurai starter army for pike and shotte this channel is a large part of why im trying historical wargames thank you little wars tv
Love the scenario and “historical” following of the SW story. I never played this games but this theme might get me involved with some of my veteran gamers friends.
I was actually the opposite of most I played historical, than got into sci-fi. I have been looking to start a legion army need to decide on what army/era to play.
It was a great idea to do an episode like this! As for an expansion I’d like to see gungans. Rows of shield wielding troops and gungan cavalry. What’s not to love?
That was awesome! The entire family, three kids (10,12,14), and the wife ALL enjoyed watching this video! Thanks :-)

I'd love to see an expansion of mud troopers from the Solo film, those imperial grunts had a cool look to them!
This was super awesome. I love how you guys are in character all of the time.
I'd love to see some Mandalorians or bounty hunters in an expansion!
14:30 Best moment of the game! Also, 19:16 So you’re saying nothing else happened after Return of the Jedi? Thank you Little Wars!!

It's so much fun watching you guys get more and more comfortable with your channel. This was fantastic!
I have so much fun watching you guys. Thank you.
That was hilarious!!! Kudos to all of you, the beginning and end were great with characters Ghost Jedi and emperor Greg.
That was awesome! Little Wars TV is terrific! Love the channel! Don't stop what you're doing! 🍻
Thank you for the awesome videos. This and the rules review video has got me interested in this game.
Wow! Excellent video. This was very fun to watch. Keep up the amazing content. I can’t wait to see what’s next.
Great job everyone. This video was fantastic!
Simply an outstanding video gents, well done.
After this fantastic episode FFG has to add a Greg, Steve and Keith expansion!
Fantastic! Loved everything about it!
Omg, please do these more often! That was awesome!
Brilliant and funny! Loved it, and it may be one of the Top 10 Little Wars vids ever!
Great work all. Thank you
Absolutely hilarious opening- the farce is strong with you guys!
YAY! I love it when the good guys win. Did not watch this for a bit, not realalizing that the Endor game that kept popping into my news feed was you guys.
Thanks for another great episode! As much as I love historical wargaming, this was definitely one of my favorites. I'd love to see them release a Hutt expansion. Hope you have a Merry Christmas!
Great episode! I would love to see a Dwarf Spider expansion for the CIS. It would be cool vehicle type unit to see on the battlefield.
Top notch presentation...and fantastic looking game, immersive and splendid terrain!
Finally, Stormtroopers prove that they CAN hit the broad side of a barn. This was a nice detour from the norm. Really enjoyed this one guys.
this was just amazing, in one word formidable
Best episode in my opinion so far. Love what you guys do. I would love to see fantasy flight games to make clone and droid commandos. That would make legion awesome.
The opening graphics crawl was great. I am a proud historical gamer. But I have to ashamedly admit, that I got my gaming start with D&D. Keith is absolutely correct. Damn you Keith! Damn you!!

You guys did a great job of getting into the spirit of things. I like the models as well. Your scenery was phenomenal!
I LOVE this show, every episode you put out! My wife is scared of it she only sees dollar signs floating in the air around my head as I watch each episode! 😂
Excellent video guys, thank you
This was brilliant and genuinely comical in a way that transcended cliche. I appreciate that you are focused on the hobby and how to bring in new players. I've literally just developed an interest in war games and appreciate the tie-in to my favorite fiction property. Carry on!

Thanks, Steve! We had a blast with this episode (as you can probably tell...)
I just found out about this game and I’m so excited that you guys are playing it on the channel!
Great video guys! Love this game.
This episode was amazing. There is room for all types of war gaming
Great video, the quality you guys do always blows me away! To be perfectly honest I think that they should just expand the current ranges more, the main issue I have with Legion is that there isn't enough troop variety.
Fantastic episode of a great series. Battles of Hoth would be great. I started out playing Historical games at a Wargames club in the 80's, so that is my favourite genre.
I put off watching as I thought I would not enjoy it. This was excellent and I might not be so much looking down at sci-fi gamers now. There has to be a Greg Expansion as he certainly has carved himself a role there.
I know you guys are a historical wargaming channel, but I love this stuff!
Good job. I really like all the coverage on expanding the HWG hobby; it's absolutely vital to continue that work. I did love the way you guys were playing exactly like every other set of nerds/geek/gamers I have ever played with, complete with bad puns and funny voices. Finally, I have to say most of the other people mentioned great ideas for expansions, but something that would be on my instant buy list would be the 10mm scale version of Legion, as I love the GW 'Epic Scale' games enormously.
Star wars war gaming was what got me into historical war gaming like axis and allies an global war 1936. I am under 25.
Awesome match guys! Glad to see you play a themed mission. I would love to see some Old Republic sets myself.
Great content! Tables are always on point, adds so much to the feel and experience of the game. I think a Battlestar Galactica expansion would work well with FFG, similar perhaps to SW: Armada but Vipers and Raiders and Nukes oh my!

There is a Battlestar Galactica version of Wings of Glory/X Wing made by Ares Games
Good episode. It's nice to have a change of pace every once in awhile.
That intro was great, keep doing these videos they're great guys
What a pleasant surprise this episode was! Would love to see more sci-fi and fantasy battle reports on the channel in the future, specifically some Warhammer 40k and maybe some Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game. All in addition to the usual historical games, of course :) Variety is the spice of life - and tabletop! Great work as always on this video. Keep it up!
Love the video guys! I’d love to see more Legion videos. Agree that I’d love to see more Rebel characters!
This is my first viewing of a video from you guys and I must say I'm very impressed! The whole thing was excellent. The best battle report I have seen on youtube. I'd love to see more Star Wars, 40K or Infinity.
I think Fantasy Flight should do a Pod Racers game, It would be kinda like Gas Lands, similar type of terrain, same scale, it would be really cool
Wonderful video guys. I love seeing your beautiful maps, watching the battles unfold always teetering on an edge, and listen to the corny jokes that are always good for a laugh. Thanks for all you do. And as for the Expansion I would love to see more types of specialized clone troopers. I always enjoyed the idea of them more than other "factions", for lack of a better term, in the star wars universe.
Loved it, please do more.
Best battle report ever. More, more!
I love your channel!! I enjoy watching these videos. I also thought the Star Wars is (loosely) a historical wargame!! Carry on the great work!!
Loved this! like some other comments said this is a nice breath of fresh air. Also, my boy Brian is a sabres fan?! thats my hometown!
Everything about this was awesome!!!!
Love the episode gang! Love those mini ewoks haha! A cool expansion would be Kamino? Those cloner's know their stuff!
That was a g great 20 mins of you tube! Loved it! I'd love a full Hoth expansion with Whompa!
I love your guys channel...nuff said
Great video! Nice to see an ensemble cast again. Been looking at SW Legion lately because I love Star Wars but even as a kid I was totally fascinated with Napoleonics over Sci-fi or fantasy. As for an expansion how about a mega Death Star terrain pack! Btw, awesome table as always (part of the reason I love all the videos is your tables!)
This was just amazing. Sure you are historical. We love you because of it. But this kind of crazy fun stuff is spicing it up. Its great.
“only a Sith deals in absolutes” ❤ came across your channel this morning. subbed.
I'd like to see FFG do an AT-TE expansion for their Clone Wars stuff.

FANTASTIC VIDEO! I'd like to see loads of Hutts and a Sarlacc pit as an expansion.
That was just delightful.
Thank you for the awesome intro !
Fantastic guys!
I've been really enjoying the content on this channel. I have to agree on the point made at the beginning that sci-fi and fantasy gaming is a great tool for bringing people into historical wargaming. My friends and I are all in our mid 20's and recently we've been really enjoying bolt action, and are looking to get into more macro scale games (like the one shown in the d-day episode). We never would have given bolt them a shot though if it wasn't for warhammer 40k getting us into the hobby in the first place.
As always another great episode. I stared with Historic gaming took a detour through Star Fleet Battles, all the while doing World War 2 micro armor battles. I have played Star Wars X-Wing toyed with the idea of Star Wars Legion. I think It would be great if they dove into the Mandolorians, this would be great. Jet packs, blasters, flamers and disintegrations. A side note on rules, I found on Face Book a set of rules where the guy had taken Bolt Action and adapted it to Star Wars, looks like a lot of fun. Need AT-AT's. Well guys really enjoyed the episode. love the imperial Star Trek shirts.
that’s a great video, please go on!
Very enjoyable episode. I have not played this ruleset, but would like to check it out.
you´ve got to love this :D
I expect a full 20 minute tutorial on how to make those Ewoks XD. I would like to see an expansion Bothan spy/infiltrator expansion.

We will absolutely be doing an Ewok-themed tutorial next week....perhaps not the one you're expecting though!
This was great. I would love to see more clone wars expansions.
Great episode! As for what expansion I would like to see, well anything that adds armoured vehicles!
Warhammer fantasy and other fantasy and scifi board gaming is exactly what is getting me into historical wargaming.
Fantastic video, loved the cheesy humour, laughed a lot :-) Table & miniatures looked great too.
Awesome video. You guys have a wonderful talent for inspiring us in the gaming community. I started and am still mostly a historical gamer but also enjoy well run games of other genres. I was also a kid when the original 3 movies came out and love all aspects of the originals. As for the rest… not so much. Not because of the idea but for poor movies. Thanks again for your videos.
You could see the lightsaber gag coming a mile away but you still nailed it!
ROFL! That was great. You almost made me want to play. Well done.
