This is one of the most in-depth platform comparisons I’ve ever seen of a game. Great stuff!

Legend of a game, just re-completed it on my GameCube. This extremely under-rated game, was literally my childhood. It's amazing how advanced this game was especially for a 2002 game, and all these cut scenes and animation. Literally a hidden gem, that not many people know about, and I'm glad for that. Really happy and glad I still have it's orginial, and still playing till this day.

1. I think the lack of mipmapping explains the PS2 shimmering and the GC blurriness of distant objects. 2. Something I noticed is that Jango looks kinda wide on the PS4 version. 3. The ghosting on the PS4 version could be due to emulation and deinterlacing.

At about 1 am on the EC. Im glad I can witness this

I had a CD bootleg version back in the day and all the cutscenes and music were removed in order to fit on a CDR disc. lol

Back when nintendo was a powerhouse on the graphics department...i seriously miss those days when nintendo was part of that battle on the console wars instead of stepping back in the shadows like they do nowadays. :/

Gamecube version was the one I played back when it 1st released and honestly I wouldn't mind playing it again for any version.

This is one of my favorite PS2 games, i played the hell out of it over and over, When they announced it was being re-released on PS4 i was so happy but sad it wasn't a remaster. Is there any chance you could take a look at Star Wars Jedi Starfighter on the PS2 Vs Xbox and PS4?

You should keep the emulation comparison as part of the video! I guess it would double the amount of work involved in making these though lol

Nothing technical to really critique here this time, just wanted to praise you on your drastically improved presentation, especially with the overlays and more steady footage cuts. I've noticed you've gotten a lot more refined since your heydays, and your balance between technical talk and casual entertainment has been perfected. I know I came across as a jerk when I first gave critique but, I have to admit, you really came into your own with your video style. You had a solid foundation, but you've definitely improved all around - not just for my tastes, but as a whole. I don't really have any other niggles or advice going forward this time. You've hit your stride. Keep up the good work!

I believe a few PS2 games on PS4 have fps issues because its actually using frame interpolation. It's where frames are added inbetween frames to make it feel like its 60fps or 30fps. Every now and again you get a frame hitch. It's not perfect yet. But it's pretty cool.

Sometimes the ps2 version looks better but if I had to pick, the gamecubes mostly 60fps vs the ps2s 30 fps and below, I would go gamecube all day.

I hope we can get a rerelease on Switch.

I've only got Star Wars Battlefront 1 and 2 and Jedi Starfighter for the PS2 but I'd been looking for a new Star Wars game for a while now, the PS2 is the only home console I own so I have never gotten my hands on next gen or played the 7 years worth of games.

Loved this game so much man. Takes me back to my ol gamecube days. aah so much fun. XD The gameplay, the atmosphere the music. So much fun. ALSO it is good they did this back in the day. Developed the engines to take advantage of the strengths of the platform it on. (If only that were a standard...BUT I know its hard to do in this industry) XD Peace. Om.

Suggestion: Compare Crash of the titans for all consoles, PS2, PSP, Wii, and Xbox 360! Same with Crash Mind Over Mutant, PSP, PS2, Wii and even Xbox 360. :))

The Gamecube version is the best one! Well worth to play it if u haven't yet.

Sorry, but 30 frames (PS2) is a far cry from 60 frames (NGC); that's a completely different gaming experience. And, no, your software Likely isn't incorrect; the PS4 version drops frames throughout (not sure if the 'Pro' model resolves this issue).

I never heard of this game til now, i am liking how there are almost equal amount of flaws on ps2 and gamecube version. I wouldn't mind getting the gamecube version to build my gc library up

Someone did it on timesplitters 2 for gamecube. Also on Resident evil 4 for pc. Love those

I own this game on the Gamecube, and it also supports 480p, but you really get the best image quality with a GCHD or a Carby adapter.

I'd heard somewhere that the PS2 versions ran at 60, while the GC at 30. Maybe I got ot wrong. In any case it's evidently not true. They made good use of the hardware on GC. Still gonna go with PS2 because I have a working console and I prefer to play on original hardware.

So here the thing. I spent 2 days trying to get this video to render. I couldn't figure out the problem and what worked was rendering it on an older premiere at 30 frames.

@@RookerVision gpu compatibility, Possible? I had one issue like this before, using Sony vegas, then i had to change some settings in "render device" to work normally.

Ahh this game on my ps4 has very inconsistent fps and the fan goes full loud of my ps4 but i like the game on ps4

I think Nintendo cares more about better performance rather than better graphics and Gamecube never had good reflections and textures in games. I loved Gamecube though!

I think it's worth spending more time on Emulation in general. Not only this is how most people play retro games these days but it gives a much clearer picture on comparing the textures and ploy count between the versions without the resolution getting in the way. I would have liked to see how the building really compared at 7:00 in emulation for example

On the ps4 its not upscaled its a resolution boost via emulation and its not a perfect 60fps because its not a port but an emulation and the ps4 cpu is known for being weak and emulation need fast cpu's And when you say the "aliasing is better" is not a correct term you should say the anti-aliasing is better instead.
