That’s why classic battlefronts are the best games out there. The only game I can think of with large scale battles with pretty well made bots. Battlefield 2 and Ravenfield are decent too

I wish they kept the first-person view of the interior ships and vehicles. Because it looks better than flying or driving around and seeing no interior hull at all. It just feels like a walking camera.

Looks cool, but I'd prob find it distracting. I'm guessing they removed it so they wouldn't have to add interiors for new ships.

It was one of the best-looking games of its time! And well-optimized as well! I remember, I couldn't run Battlefield 1942 on my old laptop, and yet Star Wars Battlefront ran smoothly and looked beautifully. I especially loved how water looked on maps like Naboo and Yavin 4. I've never seen water as good-looking as in that game before!

The anti-aliasing and texture filtering also still makes this game lovely today. It's actually more striking than Battlefront 2 for some reason.

There's nothing more satisfying than watching GravityKills break enemy lines and decimate the Trade Federation. Well done, lad.

Having a command post in the water is just doing the CIS dirty every time a droideka spawn it's going to die lol.

Now this is what a star wars battle should look like.

Man I wish there was something like EGM for BF2 2005. There are a few instant action maps that are pretty big, and the fake console can add bots to maps(but you have to do it every match), but nothing that fundamentally alters the entire game like this. Even the base maps in EGM are made super fun by the higher bot count and increased lethality. Only thing I dislike about EGM is the SMG sort of weapon for rocket launcher troops is disgustingly OP: too accurate for how fast it fires and how it has infinite ammo.

What i think i love most about the mods is how it makes the lazers actually lethal with 2 or so shots. I hated pelting the enemy with 10 bullets and they still won't go down. Also, it's an all out war haha

For me, classic Battlefronts are more fun and feel more like a real battlefront (lol) than the recent ones. I mean recent ones are prettier (and tho that's debatable) but on the gameplay man EA messed it up... Also the mods for the classics are simply insane, there's for every tastes and even about the most obscure things about SW lore. I played too much hours at the BF2 mods who add bigger maps and more soldiers, Republic Commando mod, KotOR mod, even the Death Trooper zombie thing. Damn I feel old now

The nostalgia is painful. We had it so good.

This looks an awesome large scale upgrade to a classic.

It still blows my mind they managed to make the new BFII less enjoyable with those dumb ass point spawns. This is what we want. Vehicles on the map that anyone can enter or leave. Simple.

PC version does not local multiplayer. Controller does work for this game but you need to get some controller profiles or someshit. This game doesn't have steam workshop u get mods from moddb

Sometimes I feel like that using starfighter and dropship feels too cheating just to rainndown hell and just win because it wouldn't be fun

It's cool and all untill you become MvP and every single bot in the local solar system starts targetting you despite other hundred of troops and vehicles besides you. This and BF2's bot accuracy overtune when you MvP kinda ruins the vibe of being a regular trooper.
