I really want it to be like the original battlefront where you could go into the hangars and blow it up from the inside, ALSO, I hope you don't just spawn in a ship. You spawn inside your hangar and you get to choose what ship you fly in. Or, you can just get inside one of the turrets.

Conner Latta Nope, I doubt it! I will eat my own words with joy if i'm wrong. But their is no way in hell they are going to let us fly into enemy hangers to fight or even be in our own team hanger to hop into a ship of our choosing. Spawned in just like the first game. I think they even announced that ships get spawned in during ground battles so why would they change it for space battles. Star Wars Battlefront III had all of Battlefront II (OG)with ground to air to space battles all in one. This game was going to be on PS3 and 360, yet a game that came out in 2015 couldn't do squat. Now were here in 2017. Let's see what happens.

In many ways, it's a design choice - not a limitation that the game can't accomplish. The more players in a hangar, the less in the space battle - which is supposed to be the main thing in the mode. In addition, entering hangars could lead to spawn-killing. Plus, it's inaccurate. So far, DICE has been working really hard to stay accurate to the movies; in the movies, you don't see people landing in the enemy hangars.

true speaking of inaccuracies since there is no way in hell that the enemy can board the ship with just a fighter, they either need a landing craft or a direct link from their main ship to the enemy ship. And with just 40 players I dont see that happen

how will that work with just 40 players?

I really hope they go back to what was done in the old battlefront 2 where you actually start off in your hanger, that would give a more authentic feel to Star Wars and it would make me want to play space battle way more if I could somehow transport troops to the enemy ships

i highly doubt this will be the case, as far as we have seen vehicles are point based, meaning that there are no vehicles laying around waiting for you to jump in (like in the original battlefront 2 space battles)

It would be fucking awesome if a random player was selected to be the capital ship commander/captain, this player would be able to pilot the ship, organize some kind of stragey ( like: all fighters attack, all fighters defend the ship, spread out ) envolving both real players and AI, prioritize targets or special parts of the enemy ship, and if he gets a high score he will be rewarded with special things, like being able to deploy an extra squad of fighters or bombers that will follow his specific orders

yeah, kind of, but i reconize that just like BF4, if the commander is good, but I mean really good, then it can be just a little bit OP, not too much to turn the game around just by himself, but he can definitely affect the enemy team in different ways

I really hope the space battles will be massive and you can go inside the capital ships. And does anyone else hope that their favourite planets will be in the game?

yeah clone wars will be the most popular era by far. the prequel hater generation is old and most do not play these games anymore. most under 30 years old ppl grew up watching the prequels and enjoy clone wars more as a setting. let's see if i'm right

This looks much more promising than the last one. I'm glad to see a return to the style of the old Battlefront games. And thank you for holding the giveaway!

I think it would be beyond amazing, if we got to control not just star fighters, but cruisers, dreadnoughts, star destroyers, and battleships as well. I mean how cool would it be to be at the controls of a Providence Class Carrier, and go full broadside with a Venator, just like in Episode III?! There were games like that where you could control fighters, cruisers, and battleships at your pleasure. It was called Battlestations: Pacific. My friends it can be done. Let us just hope that DICE can make my Star Wars dream a reality.

The Cool Persian Battle stations: Pacific was a really fun game....it's sad that that studio shut down after the game released...they were working on a modern combat battlestations next...and at the time I even thought of a battlestations game set in the star wars Universe.. it​ would be awesome taking full control of Capitol ships ,cruisers, frigates, and starfighters

What original Battlefront 3? There was only Battlefront, Battlefront 2, Battlefront Imperial Squadron, Battlefront Renegade Squadron, EA Battlefront, EA Battlefront 2 (Upcoming One)... That's all of them... there was never a Battlefront 3 and you can't do that in any of them excluding EA Battlefront 2 since we don't know much about that one as it is not yet released...

+Master Jag I have to agree, honestly. It wasn't that fun - destroying stuff only added to your team's points, it didn't have any actual affect on the game. The only part I really found fun was landing a transport and then killing any enemy that entered the hangar to board a ship. For obvious reason, that might be just as bad(if not worse) than spawnkilling, which developers want to avoid. +Steven It isn't that they can't do it, it's that they don't want to do it, for a variety of reasons. Spawnkilling, not having enough people in the SPACE BATTLE, ruining the pacing of the match, etc. Plus - the interior of the ship was always identical, no matter which faction it belonged to.

Finally! The return of space battles! I'll try spinning, that's a good trick!

Jack Coulson from what I read from their site is, it said you forge a new past as iden versio a special ops forces member and it expands over a 30yr period. you'll encounter iconic Star Wars characters within the story, also read they wanted to show the saga from the side of the empire, they wanted to show how it feels to fight for the empire showing the true emotions the solider goes through rather then just another helmet among many idk sounds cool I guess.

Not space, but snowspeeder gunner would also be amazing against AT-ATs. Should require skill and pilot-gunner coordination to bring one down.

The first trailer was mainly a Single-Player trailer, but also a preview of the Multiplayer trailer, when they announced all eras, and space battles and things. The next trailer will for sure be about Multiplayer, and I really hope it showcases the Clone Wars and New Trilogy heavily.

Completely agree with Cap. Last time I played battlefront 2, I never touched the space battles. Went into instant action and played myself some good ol heroes vs villain. Space battles were so boring and tedious. In the movies, you never see a person try to land and destroy a star destroyer from the inside. Things too damn big, too many troops inside. Only time that happened was in the book Lost Stars.

Well the clone wars area is repetitive everyone wants it. I still enjoy the current battlefront just saying it would be a much better game if they do, and if they were to remaster battlefront2 i'd play it again.

It's EA where talking about they only appeal to the "casual" gamers, their just gonna spawn us in fighters because they want even the person who is so retarded he can't hold a controller properly to have fun and not get trapped in the hanger bay because he keeps fly his ship sideways into a wall or doesn't know how to enter the ship I really the first place

Would be nice if you would choose to spawn on a ship (Star Destroyer or something) where you would fight on foot and could get inside a starfighter at any time and go into open space battle or stay on the ship and fight with the enemy there.

I can't give this comment enough likes. The original Battlefront II pulled it off by getting an A.I squad together and flying a LAAT/i or something. Heck, that was on PS2. Hopefully E.A and Dice have this or something very similar.. you know, with A.I.

Space Battles was my favourite mode in the first battlefront, I really can't wait to see how they improve it and definitely keen for some customisation and more variety! thanks to this video my hopes now are even higher! :)

Yeah, I really liked piloting the transport vehicles and dropping my teammates off inside the enemy hangar so we could blow everything up from the inside. If you can't do that, I'll stick to the 20v20 ground combat.

Admiral Thrawn You should check out "Dual Universe" It's a spacegame where everything is playermade and there will be organisations (like the Empire) who will build Star Destroyer like ships and fight each other.

i hate this stupid mechanic they have where the ship just pops into the side of the battle like out of nowhere... seriously, you're saying over a DECADE AGO they can have the interior of capital ships where you can choose the different types, and now, in 2017 they are using this cheap ass "cut into the action" thing? I mean I know it's a little thing but this is STAR WARS EA, how about acting like you give a shit (and yes this looks miles ahead of last years game) but this is still a BATTLEFRONT game and that was such an important part of the game play that just feels ripped out

The only reason I wouldn't want the flying out of the hangar back is this, SPAWN KILLING. I'm fairly certain that's why they don't have it. Imagine if one team is just crushing the other and suddenly no one can escape getting destroyed the moment they fly out

EA are the ones who make the business practices www.polygon.com/2017/4/16/15320942/star-wars-battlefront-2-season-pass-dlc what you say MIGHT be true, but it doesn't mean they'll stop with their marked up empty DLC practices and deluxe editions that will have content that should've been in the game, like powerful weapons and vehicles.

you only say it's hate if some old fans like me are too skeptical and too negative because we dislike EA's antics. you're only defending them because they temporarily own the star wars license. if this game was not star wars, you'd probably not give a damn. you're either giving EA a blind eye because it's star wars or you're too forgiving or you're probably not that knowledgeable of EA's greed. also, being skeptical doesn't mean being overtly negative, it means being cautious and careful.

I really hope star wars battlefront 2 will have space battles!!!!! I really enjoyed the space battles in star wars battlefront 2 back in 2005. I loved how you could board the enemy ship and destroy the reactor, very hyped for this one!!!!

If we don't spawn inside a star destroyer and choose a ship and board enemy ships and sabotage enemy life support systems and engines etc like in the Original Battlefront II then I will NOT be buying this game. Phillip Alexander He's using phrases like, "The last straw" and "Do your job". Instead of throwing a temper tantrum, he could've formally stated what he wants in the game and that he will not buy the game if it doesn't have it. I also want these, but I will still buy the game if it doesn't have this. He has the right to not buy it, but screaming like a two year old definitely doesn't help get an idea across to EA.

The Battle of Coruscant would be a must-have and with the grand scale of the battles, even blowing up the Death Star would be something I could imagine. Having a large number of AI ship like in the original will be awesome, hunting and evading enemy fighters at the same time... looking forward to seeing what this is gonna look like eventually.

Clone Wars in space once again... what a time to be alive.

no it wouldn't be good if they marked real players. having your username show up when you aim and get close would be better. bounties would get people to focus on killing for killing. space battles should focus on taking down capital shops.

old sw b had A M A Z I N G space fights, you could visit enemy space ships, and ground and space combat combo was also A M A Z I N G

Star Wars HQ, In a space ship you get much better accuracy while going slow. In the vid you were shooting at a ships while you were at full speed. Don't do that, you will miss almost every shot.

when you do that though you become a sitting duck. you only need to do it if your to close to the ship you want to shoot down. otherwise there is no need. i actually use speed boost to take out a lot of ships, as you take them out a lot faster.

awesome video one of your best ones I have ever seen.

Every video I watch of these updates makes me more and more excited - I cannot wait for this game to come out! 3,292 hours to go!!!

All I hope is that this new Battle Front isn't point Based Because i fell in love with the old battlefront due to flying into enemy ships and then going on your own mini mission with a handful of troopers/droids if this isn't in the game ill be disappointed i think i speak for 80% of the community when i say this. If they aren't adding Galactic Conquest then they might as well add this its crucial for the game if you ask me. Space battles when you are only capable of fighting within your ship will be boring and become repetitive.

my thoughts exactly...i for one am one of the ppl who will play mostly clone wars at launch just to get back at the prequel haters, i think it will be fun seeing them bitiching when most ppl also chose to do this

Regardless of how the movies are in the eyes of many, no one can deny that the prequel era has way more opportunities for battles. against actual armies. The one thing that always irks me in a SW game is that the Rebel Alliance is always equal, because it's a game, when in "reality" they are nothing more than ragtag cells for most of the Alliance's life.

I'm confused. What are your reasons for assuming criterion won't work alongside DICE to introduce infantry combat to the space battles for when you enter/exit a ship? Do you honestly think Criterion is alone and not allowed to work alongside DICE?

i loved the space maps in Battlefront 2 where you had to attack assault and then board the enemy ship to destroy it. they were great!

space combat was my favourite mode from bf2 i'm glad that they are bring it back.

really looking forward to flying around some capital ships, would be cool if they did something similar with the old Battlefront 2, and allow you to run around the bigger ships.

I am sort of hoping for some of the depth of the old X-wing games. Being able to balance energy, direct your shields, etc. It doesn't have to be as in-depth, but it would be cool to see more than just "point at enemy ship, hold the lock-on button, and shoot."

I seriously hope you get full control of your fighter. By that, I mean controlling where the wings are pointing and not having it sort of auto level when turning
