Flechette Torpedoes are good for a dedicated anti-squadron small ship with a black anti-squadron die, especially if you activate that anti-ship squadron first. So, if your ship is near to the squadron furball you unleash the anti-squadron attack and shut down as many enemy squadrons as you can (or force them to spend scatter tokens and make them that much weaker). Then your own squadrons have free shots at enemy squadrons where their only response will be a counter if they even have one. It's also good at shutting down squadron movement, forcing them to stay in place while your own squadrons zoom in to pin the enemy down. The torpedoes have some really good potential for anti-squadron work.

What are the ships made out of plastic or metal?

Rob never played Star Wars and I watch you for GW games but I'm wondering if you think 2017 Gothic will have the pre-painted minis to play out of box to capture a little of the Star Wars interests or just reproduce in plastics?

Ya me too, I was looking through my Citadel 2001 Catalog and forgot how much more the BFG minis were compared to standard WFB/40K and theoretically using Star Wars as a competitive pricing guide I just can't see anyone paying $40+ for a Space Marine Battle Barge or Eldar heavy cruiser thats smaller than a roll of Nickels..

There are a bunch from when Armada first came out but they mainly deal with the game as it was in the core set and the first expansion set. The metas are a bit more complex now but if you type Star Wars Armada Tutorial, you should find some how to plays. As far as how it is now, it might be a good idea since the game feels like its picking up steam.

Sort of sucks they are making Armada into a squadron focused game and making the larger ships just for show on the board--basically Armada is becoming x-wing attack wing on a smaller scale to blow up big ships...

suanniiq not true at all. You need ships to activate squadrons effectively, and you can only have 1/3 of your fleet be fighters, so it is still very much a ship v ship game with squadrons playing a big role yes, but that is how it should be. That's how it was in the movies.
