That dialog was about 2 or 3 mc 80 that were point blank in front of them not the A-wing.

That thing would be an amazing centerpiece of any Star Wars ship collection. That's the model of that ship I've wanted since I first saw it in 1980 lol

Awesome. Can't wait for mine to get here. I have always thought it should be on higher stands than the rest of the ships. A higher stand would also bring the ship closer to the player creating an optical illusion that it is even bigger.

The SSD is over the top impressive. I can’t wait to get one. I have no idea how the Rebels will be able to fight against a ship of that magnitude. The coolest model I’ve ever seen for a table top game.

Absolutely amazing. Only gripe is the blue instead of red engine glow, but that’s easily fixable. Just plain amazing. Can’t wait to see some battle reports with that monster.

Why does a $200 ship need fixing out of the box?

The detail is just incredible! You have opponents forfeiting when they see that coming at them!

Those blue engines hurt my brain. I'm painting mine red as soon as i get them.

In Canon they are blue, which means a higher rate of callous fuel expenditure.

The whole inner areas need a darker wash and the outer areas a kind of blueish wash in my opinion, if you compare it to The Empire Strikes Back.

To be totally honest, not a fan of the paintjob. If I ever get this I will need to repaint it to have more of the blue hue from the films, along with red thruster exhaust

This painting is actually accurate to lore. The blue hues it had in the movies were due to lighting effects. The engines needing to be red is the only thing that's really off.

I always felt that the engines should be blue on the SSD as well, so I can easily live with it. Otherwise a beautiful model. I was planning to repaint it to darker colors, but this actually looks hands down awesome! I think I'll leave as it is! Superbly detailed, can't wait to get my hands on it!

Good thing that SSD isn't to scale otherwise, the Raider in the fleet shot would be the close to the actual size the ISD would be in comparison to it.

@@scottwallbank4794 I was expecting that gray, but a darker superstructure on the upper side, as well as a darker hanger bay. From the coloration in the video it almost seems like it isn't painted, if not very lightly, but it could simply be the lighting.

Congrats Crabbok! I was just as giddy as you this past Sunday when I picked up mine. I still don't know how a game store in Greenfield Wisconsin got a SSD before anyone else besides SD Comic-Con. I was the only one who preordered one so they only received mine. They didnt order any for stock because of the price and didnt think they'd sell. They called Friday and left a message saying your SSD has arrived. When I checked my messages and heard that I almost had a heart attack. I was out of town so had to impatiently wait two days to pick it up. But your right it is absolutely gorgeous. I read some comments saying they don't like the paint job. I think they'll change their mind once there holding one in their hands. Anyway I'm glad you got yours. I love seeing people happy. Great unboxing!

Thank for the all the vids of the SSD. Awesome reviews full a details. I needed this because I honestly didn't know if I would want a SSD, which I'm sure some would say I'm crazy cause it's a freaking SSD, but I would like to see it in a game just to see how one would counter a SSD, maybe it's obvious but I'm new to the game, so if you can do a vid like that, that would be great. I "skwee'd" out loud watching your video. Those box dimensions make the FFG "coffin boxes" (think TI 3rd edition) look small. I can't wait until mine gets here.

The end of the tape measure is supposed to move like that to allow for accurate measurement when doing an "inside" measurement instead of an "outside" measurement. When measuring like you are, let the end expand to it's fullest to get the accurate measurement. The reason that it moves is that when you are measuring into a corner, it compresses by the width of the tab to allow for that width to be included in the accurate measurement.

Looks fantastic , many a nerds dream come true with that.

Not as fan of the Epic Raider-style pseudo panel lines. Obviously they couldn't replicate the sheer amount of detail of the original model. But the effect here looks too big, haphazard and abstract at that scale.

My ssd is on the way, so hyped!

Agree w/ comment @7:17 - definitely disappointed the stands are the same height. That's usually how FFG had suggested in the past that a different sliding scale was in use - different stand heights, nevermind the practically of avoiding bumping. Why not do that, here? Hmph! Hopefully someone makes some clear acrylic at some point that matches the other ships better...

Any ideas on how you'll paint yours? Red engines, dark grey or black for the inner structure with blue highlights?

Love the unboxing! What a great looking ship, even outside it being for a game. But what I especially love is the American measuring system, 24 and 9/16ths inches.....or 62 cm's.... Keep the good work coming Crabokk!!! Would you risk running a dark ink wash over it? it's a lot of money for a failed experiment.
