Currently running a Rebellion In The Rim campaign with some buds, my Imperial fleet was made purely to mess with the rebels, who expected big ships. Imagine their surprise when 2 raiders and an arquitens came flying at them at top speed

I'd like to see some revivals from things like Empire at War. Honestly, underrated game

Empire at war is an excellent game the new mod that remakes it is great but would love to see a new release in that style

@@elementairttv I think a big problem I have with it is that a lot of the UI and game design feels very dated, justifiably so given how old the game is, but there's only so much a mod can do to fix that. Whenever I encounter something irritating, nine times out of ten I think "this wouldn't be in here if the game was made today".

I Play Empire at War. I actually created the Alliance at War mod on Steam. The Raider-class is feature in it. ':^)

The raider is my favorite imperial ship in terms of design. Its form perfectly communicates its function. FFG knocked out out of the park. Which is funny because even though I play Imperial and love their design I hardly ever run them, but this video did give me a lot of good ideas.

Visually this is one of my favorite ships. FFG did an excellent job designing it.

I have been fond of the Raider for a while now. Agent Kallus, Ordinance Experts, Quad Laser Turrets, Flechette Torps, and Impetuous on the Raider I can shut those rebel squadrons right down!!! I love it!!!

Just got another Raider for my fleet. Speedily zipping around space is fun.

Raider I, Minister Tua for the upgrade slot to add cluster bombs, ordinance expert, quad laser turrets, Flechette torpedoes Went with Impetuous so that you could potentially trigger the torpedoes on everything, then with the title attack try to finish a squadron off or get a 2nd chance at a squadron that you whiffed on. Or if your against a unique squadron with Evade, there's a 2nd chance to shoot them after they spent the potential Evade. 67 points total

Honestly this almost works better as a pure deterrent than anything else. Can lock down squads, run in and punch ships, and the ability to reposition a 4-speed ship with this much close range damage for only 2 points is pretty amazing.

This is my favorite small ship in the game.

I think they said were not going to re-release for 2.0 as you can get a 1.0 and use large ship upgrade pack

Really liked the Raider model in xwing, looks like it’s plays kinda similar in armada

Themed fleet idea: swat raid!!! raider swarm with a quasar and lots of fighters and bombers. High activation, high squadron count, High speed. Could be a cool “shock force” themed fleet, and shakes up the imperial meta a bit

As much as i want a Separatist fleet for Armada I refuse to until a Lukrahulk is released lol

I just got mine for Armada (I live in New Zealand) and I now have it sitting on top of my X-Wing scale Raider :P

When your doing your ship builds, it would be quite cool if you did another Rebel Squadron build if you used ONE of each ship and not double transports or Assault Ships. The reason is that a lot of people don't buy double ships till later; they prefer to get different ships, so we can't do a classic Crabbok 'Double Assault ship' squadron build! Just an idea. Maybe an Assault, Pelta, Yavaris, Bright Hope build...?

I may not be a "Raiders" fan but, I am a Raider enjoyer.

I have the X wing version of the raider. Now I must get these for my fleet.

I'm no Imp player so this is wild speculation; What would the utility of running two Raider-IIs and a VSD in a nice little murderball be? Using the Raiders to screen snub-fighters moving in while being able to lance out and do precision strikes against larger ships moving in? I know the meta is ONAGERONAGERONAGER, but I never play for victory but fun.

A great idea for a ship with the special forces role, shame there is not a card for those troopers being deployed to an enemy to damage internally or maybe capture etc

While they decided ultimately to use the Raider in x-wing, its not like they didnt have other choices to bring into the role. The Tartan-class patrol cruiser was the CR-90s mirror for the Empire in Empire at war, a star wars RTS, then there was the Lancer-class frigate, a anti star fighter vessel in the expanded lore novels.. They had choices here for the Imperial Fleet.

I wish they made a new Imperial Escort Frigate. They mentioned a new Imperial Fast Frigate in the RPG and had an Imperial Stealth Recon Frigate statted there but no details other then its connection to the Stealth Recon Frigate. (The Stealth Recon Frigate used the same Hull frame as the Fast Frigate design much like how the Immobilizer class Interdictor Cruiser and the Enforcer class Picket Cruiser used the same Hull frame as the Vindicator class Heavy Cruiser)

The two raider build I use are codenamed the squadbuster and the little f**k. Squadbuster is a raider 1 with ordinance experts, kallus, and flechettes. Double black flak to toggle all the enemy squadrons is just mean. The little f**k build is a raider 2 with gunnery teams, overload pulse, Palpatine and disposable capacitors. Drive up, nail the two biggest enemy threats with overload and fly away. If they want to respond, they have to discard a token. And with disp caps, there's a decent chance it gets to do that 2-3 times

Oh snap, he uses similar builds. But seriously, Palpatine on that overload raider is brutal. To get rid of that little tick they need to discard 1, maybe 2 defense tokens. That's brutal. Palp is a dirt cheap force multiplier for that raider build. Not only are all their tokens red for your other attacks, but they have to discard them to get the raider which can supplement its bad survivability by making people not want to attack it with big flagship shots

When do you plan to make a ship breakdown for the SSD? I don't imagine that there's a lot of demand, but it'd sure be entertaining!

Raiders are cool!

It's nice to see something more original design wise but it's kinda funky 😂. Also I'd love to see a series like this with the x-wing ships maybe not as ship detailed but pilot/upgrades!

Overload pulse on the Raider combined with boarding troopers on another ship larger ship can easily strip all the defence tokens in a turn off most ships.

Just got a raider going to try em out against a friend who loves to squadron ball me.

I must admit the design is rather sexy for a inanimate object. Have tried to buy the bigger version for x wing but they have a ETA for like ³Rd quarter this year 😒

Whatever you do, do not think this is the empire version of the cr-90. The cr-90 can zip around and shoot at long range. The raider has to get close and put itself in danger. I find it's best at hunting down flotillas or trying to set up a squadron crossfire trap

Love this ship, but it doesn’t really fit my Armada play style. I do like the options of using it to take out squadrons and push your own though

My dad has always loved the design but there’s just something about it that throws me off idk

This game has the same problem as Axis and Allies in its highly playable and balanced, but needs more accessibility like a video game or phone app. It’s a gold mine to be home, could be as big and customizable as Magic the gathering 🤷‍♂️

Too bad you don't really like this fast and nimble ship. :)
