This video skips the most amazing part of the ride. You are being shepherded through the line to a "normal" ride experience when suddenly the lights go out, a rush of wind, and when the lights come on you are standing on a transporter pad. (The "how the #*$&$^ did they DO that?" factor was VERY high!) One of the most unique theme park experiences ever.

100% agree with this, the transporter part was easily the most impactful ride effect I"ve ever been on, and I'm an architect and grew up in So Cal spoiled with Disney stuff. It seemed to be some bright twinkly lights surrounding us, a woosh of air going from bottom to top, sounds effects, and quickly flying in new walls and ceiling while the rest of the room was darkened and we were distracted. After the transport is complete the floor circle you were standing had lit up like a transporter pad. No one effect being all that unusual or high-tech, but together they all worked brilliantly to replicate what I could imagine it should feel like. Truly greater than the sum of its parts.

Agreed. To this day I clearly remember how I felt from that experience. Not only was the effect very cool but I was so impressed at how fast it seemed to happen. It was crazy and completely unexpected. It was worth every penny. They also don't show how it looks like you're flying out over the strip out of Vegas into space. Afterwards we went to Quarks bar and the gift shop. I bought several souvenirs including a Tribble. I still have it. LOL!

I flew the helicopter down the strip for the flying pov shots. It took 5 months of pre pro to get the FAA permission to fly down vegas blvd. Kurt Soderling was the aerial dp, and Dylan Goss was the assistant cameraman. We only had the strip for one hour. 450 cops blocked every entrance to every street, alley, sidewalk building, etc. I still have the film and it's on my reel under my page.

Pondimus Maximus one day there will be a possibility that a new one could open up again. Especially with 2020 literally around the corner. Can you imagine what they could do? I think it would be cool if there were animatronics, like for the Borg or something. Having the scene where we first get to meet the Borg Queen in first contact be reenacted right in front of you. Her head being lowered by cables, with her robotic spine moving about, it would be awesome. And by the looks of technology with animatronics now these days, there could probably even be a Data one!

One time I noticed a guy that was part of our group who looked familiar, but because of all the commotion I didn't think much of it. On the turbo lift he kept looking at me wondering if I'd figure out who he was. It wasn't till later I realized it was Robert Picardo, my favorite character on Voyager. This was one attraction in Vegas that was well worth the price!

I don't know about you but, i think they should close down The Simpsons ride at universal studios (orlando AND hollywood), and replace it with a Star Trek ride based off the reboot movies. And, here's my idea for the plot: It should be set right after the events of Star Trek Into Darkness, and Khan (or should I say...KKKKKKHHHHHHAAAAANNN!!!!) and his crew have been mysteriously re-awakened, they steal the starship ENTERPRISE, and decides to turn it against the federation. So, Captain Kirk and Starfleet now need Amusement Park guests to board Starfleet's new fleet of advanced and powerful shuttlecraft (that'll be the ride's cars), and stop khan, and save the ENTERPRISE. what do you think?

I went there twice. Once when my 2 sons who were young enough to believe it was real. Walking along a causeway we met two Klingons (employees of the attraction) Geez, they were both about 6'4". One of them commented on a Onizuka Space Camp t-shirt I was wearing. I knew the Klingon greeting in Klingonese. The Klingons were a bit surprised (a bit out of charterer) but they engaged me on earth space travel, warriorism and exploration. My sons were watching this in amazement. Dad held his own against the Klingons. They departed respectfully, as I nodded in respect. I looked at my sons with the expression, "Whoa, we made it through that one.... whew"!!!! Just wanted to thank the people who were part of that whole Star Trek The Experience. You guys created a great memory for my sons and me.

I went to Vegas in 2007 on a business trip. I flew out 2 days early so I could go to the Star Trek Experience at the Vegas Hilton. As I was in line to buy a ticket, two parents and their child were visibly upset when they found out that it was $130 for the 3 of them to enter the experience. It was obvious that they couldn't afford the money to get in. I decided to cover the cost for them. It was worth every penny to watch them enjoy the experience. I would've paid $500 to get a picture of me in the captain's chair on the bridge of the 1701-D, but it wasn't allowed. I hung around at Quarks bar and the various exhibits for 3 hours. Most of the staff were huge fans of Star Trek. It was awesome talking to them about their favorite series and characters. True to form, many agreed with me that DS9 was the best series. Sadly, when I went back in late 2009, the Start Trek Experience was gone. Apparently, it was to make way for the JJ Abrams' pile of sh*t movies and the Kelvin Time-line. They felt by keeping the Star Trek Experience, it would interfere with the concept of the new time-line.

So glad I got to experience this in Vegas, one of the most memorable experiences I've had. As a 13 year old at the time my mind was blown with the transporter effect they had, starting off in a small room then suddenly you're on the bridge of a starship, definitely a one of a kind experience! Also started my interest in Star Trek!

I miss this place so much. It was extremely corny but I didn't care, I adored it! We took my 2 oldest kids in 2008 but they were only 5 and 1 at the time and it was gone when we came back in 2013. My son became a huge star trek fan since and he'll be 21 at the end of the year so I would have loved to take him to Quark's bar for his 1st drink but alas it's been closed for almost a decade now. 😥

I remember my dad taking me to this when I was still a kid. I still remember a lot of it vividly. I'll always remember the primal fear I felt seeing the Borg actors come close to the group right before the Borg ride.

My coworkers and I decided to take a field trip one day and flew over to Vegas from San Diego to see this. (We saw the earlier Klingon version.) It was fabulous and so much fun! Unfortunately we had to catch a flight back that same day and I didn’t get the chance to eat at Quark’s. Still, being on the bridge of the Enterprise was cool, as well as the Promenade. The one moment that actually startled me was in the restroom while I was washing my hands - I said something and a hologram in the mirror replied! I jumped back and yelled and my co-workers never let me forget it. Bonus: On the way out of Vegas I won enough at the airport slot machines to cover the cost of the Experience and my plane ticket. I walked back into my office a couple of hours later with my pockets bulging with quarters. We had to make up the time at the office later, but it was worth it, and the best part was that our boss approved. Somewhere I have a photo of my desk covered in quarters, my souvineers, and a Picard figurine observing the mountains of coin coolly. If this Experience ever returns, I will go see it - Covid permitting of course.

I went on Xmas day 2007 and did the Borg invasion as well as the back stage tour where you could stand in a Borg unit and sit in the captains chair. Great exhibition. Only thing that has come close is the Doctor Who exhibition in London / Cardiff. Such a shame it closed and lots things sold off or destroyed. Great memories.

They try to keep as much as they can. The space Loo was still operating last I was there. It was Space Quest casino of the LVH for a while. They turned the open area into bar for a while. Then a preview center for Hilton vacations. I didn't go in during my visit last week 4-9-18 but I noticed the Federation logo was still outside of the main complex.
