Star Trek's William Shatner Reacts to Videos of Himself | I Hate Watching Myself | Esquire

Ойын-сауық

Before the release of his new album "BILL," William Shatner takes some time to watch some of the most iconic moments of his long career even though he hates watching videos of himself. He rises to the challenge and discusses the Khan scream heard around the world, his guest stint on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and singing a tribute to George Lucas. What people always forget (perhaps including Shatner himself) is that this is a moment of acting by KIRK, not just by William Shatner. Kirk wants Khan to think he's won, but he's actually the one in control.

I will always respect William Shatner mainly because I enjoyed STOS as well as Nimoy, Kelly, etc in reruns of the 70's. Although one or two of his costars may have had a little headbutt on occasion he will always be captain of the USS Enterprise, no disrespect to future captains who I admire also but "Captain Kirk " rings through the ages. And humble as he claims in viewing himself in past Trek footage he has no reason to be ,he was a very handsome man in the day. I have many other similar stars I admire but because I live on the other side of the world I will never get to even say Hi to them. Most respect William Shatner.

I remember as a teenager being part of the first Star Trek convention in NYC in the early 70's. Back then I worked with my teacher and his family at a table selling t-shirts and ST memorabilia. Within in those 3-4 days of the convention I was lucky enough to meet James Doohan (Scotty), George Takai (Sulu), and Nichelle Nichols (Uhura) but was unable to meet both Willian Shatner and Leonard Nimoy (you could'nt get near them because of the crowd). At the time I thought both these men were larger then life (being the Trekkie I was back then). However, throughtout the years I folllowed both men's careers in acting, and writng books--both men phenomenal! William Shatner at 91 is by far one of the lone survivors early ST era (next to George Takai) and a very energetic funny man who went up in space--totally love him!
