Beautiful! Thanks for that. 2 years is far too long between seasons for my liking. A rewatch would have solv3d that, but life got in the way.

Started reading the Wikipedia episode summaries, couldn't keep the names straight so I searched youtube and found this only to realise you are just reading out the summaries from wikipedia, lol. Welp, this is better anyway, thanks.

To get context on the first season, it's a good idea to read the novel Picard: The Last Best Hope. It fills in a lot of the gaps between Nemesis and the Picard series. It helped me enjoy it a lot more the second time I watched it

If you need to first consume a 3rd party media source just to be able to fully enjoy and understand a TV show, that TV show failed. I am not arguing against what you said, I actually AGREE with you but tbh, 70% of viewers aren't going to be reading books based on the show.

@Jayme Splendid but you don't need to read the book to enjoy it, it just elaborates on a few events that are mentioned within the series. Did you need a book to enjoy encounter at farpoint? There is pretty much nothing about the origin of Q, very little back stories on all the characters , it took quite number of episodes to do that. Pretty much no info about the ferengi, nor the origin of the borg. Lots of stories from the next generation have incomplete info or species only mentioned once and never mentioned again. Picard has actually elaborated on many things missing from the trek series. So no the series hasn't 'failed'

Thanks for this. Once my service changed, I couldn't get any of the Star trek programs and missed the back end of the 1st season. All I got was clips which in no particular order made little sense. I appreciate what you do. 🖖🏾

Wow. Thank you for this. I watched season one during lockdown along with 50 other shows/movies. I couldn’t remember one thing that happened until I watched your video. There was just too much going on back then between this show and Tiger King.

Same. I gave Discovery an honest go, got through season 1 before losing interest. Picard series is closer to my heart anyways, grew up on TNG and I'm about to watch the 2n season premiere episode

@@sallgoodman2323 exactly my thoughts too, I've watched everything to do with star trek so gave discovery a chance and barely made it through season one lol just finished season one of Picard absolutely brilliant but my only criticism and it's only a little one is I wish they would stop forcing the F word it just doesn't seem to fit with the show. 🤷‍♂️

Small pauses between different scenes would make it easier to understand (for non native speakers)

I thought that Hugh, Troy, Soun, and many others making an appearance in this series were dead. I thought Riker was an Admiral, and that Data was still functioning centuries later. However, I also thought the entire timeline had been rewritten by a Romulan travelling to the past and destroying Vulcan.

I couldn't help but think that star trek picard season 1 plot was a recycled version from the mass effect game series. Picard (player character) gathers a misfit crew to take down reapers (main villian set to wipe out all life) and learn about the value of Synthetic life a long the way. Not that I don't like the series but the story has been done before and way better.

I genuinely cannot stand that woman calling Jean-luc 'JL' Picard would never have accepted that abbreviation

Good recap, however it doesn't change anything about the fact that this show sucked. It seems like S3 is better though.

Just watched s01. My review: Overly convoluted meh.

This is far and away the worst of the nu trek shows. Even the creators admitted to making up the story as they went along, which resulted in a very messy and sub-par season finale which imho ruined the impression of the show as a whole. Very disappointing, since Seven, Picard, and Hugh are fan favorites who deserved better treatment.

Came here to prepare for season 2 and do a little recap. Forgot how messed up Star Trek Picard was. A shame. Not as bad as discovery though. Still not really Star Trek if you ask me. Not gonna watch season two anymore. Long live old Trek.

My perspective is: whilst I appreciate your recap, Picard and Discovery are absolutely horrendous television shows with terrible writing. They're not Trek to me. You should allow freedom of thought and speech on your channel. It's anti-Trek to delete comments that are sometimes contrary to yours. The culture of Trek is to grapple with issues in a fair, thoughtful and open manner. To merely dismiss and delete an opposing view is not good.
