I think that Benedict Cumberbatch is a perfect fit for a modern Khan.

Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the Greatest actors of all time! End of story.

He makes a brilliant Khan, his incarnation of Khan is one of my favourite villains

I've seen this trailer a billion times, and it just gets better every time.

Benedict was so great in this movie. He is a brilliant actor with amazing in screen presence, i was literally hanging onto his every word. Best actor in the entire movie.

If it wasn't for Benedict this movie would have been unwatchable. The story line was so simple and boring. Benedict's acting was amazing and the only reason I liked it.

Most people are here for Star Trek, I'm here because Benedict Cumberbatch

i was blown away by how good this movie was. i think the dislikes are older folks who are having hard time accepting that generations change and what they like.

I love how they even incorporated the lens flare into the title sequence and all the other times where words come up.

Guess Donovan was right after all...

This movie is beyond words. Amazing cast, great story, I'm obsessed. This needs to come out on DVD sooner.

This movie is entertaining but it doesn't push it self... The story it's a bit mehh I like Benedict as Khan, he's pretty damn perfect for it! But the movie at the end feels small and lazy a little :/ it should have been more there to really keep the excitement up

Well a city sized ship crashed into San Francisco, the heroes were running as gravity kept switching on them, kirk died, and spock yelled and beat the crap out of Khan. I don't think too little excitement was the problem. I feel like it abruptly ended.

I saw the 3d and it was awesome. The actors are amazing, the script, the plot, the graphics.....just all amazing. It's so refreshing to have a new cast jump right in and it not be awkward after seeing years of Nemoy and Shattner. I have no problems with JJ Abrahms taking Star Wars. He's made an epic, untouchable series with a cast that has been around decades...........and dare I say....better? Nahh, let's just say he updated it and it is Star Trek quality.

Watch it again??? I absolutely despise,abhor this actor. Whatever the fuck his name is. He annoys me, like nothing else that gets under my skin like a thousand creepy bloodsuckers. Just the way he pronounces the simplest word,irks me to no end. He begins and ends at the most intense place ever existed and there is not the slightest infinitesimal modicum of a difference in tone, facial expression, in his reptilian eyes that intensely burn right through a 20 foot thick wall of absolute titanium. And so it goes with his intensely histrionically skewed persona whether having him playing the role of Mickey Mouse or King Kong. I pray, wish I never see this actor ever again under any circumstances.

I loved this movie, it was as good if not better than the first one..JJ Abrams is an awesome director...everyone was awesome in it, Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto were great and Benedict Cumberbatch did a great job as Khan...hope they continue the story and make more movies

I was never a fan of Star Trek before I watched the J.J. Abrams films. For me, these characters have more of an affinity and are more interesting that the ones from The Original Series or The Next Generation. You won't share my opinion and I respect that, but to me this IS the true Star Trek.

Saw it last night. It was so good, I could have watched it again. May go see it again during the long weekend. Don't understand the negative reviews by some of the media, they don't get it at all. Can't wait for JJ Abrams to do Star Wars. I think he loves syfy like all of us that are fans.

I agree with you too! :) And I think Abrams was brave enough to try it out, given the pressure he might have faced from the current fans as well as the producers. In that sense he did a good job.

I totally agree with your comment. Although I have not yet watched the previous Star Trek movies and Series, it is nice to see that you are not saying 'This is crap because its not the original', as so many loyal Trekkies seem to be saying. From what I understand this is a different or alternative reality to the original as a result or the time travel in the first one. I think this is a much better way to revive a classic rather than just duplicate the exact same story as the original.

The Usual Suspects and No Country for Old Men come to mind off the top of my head.

As a Trekkie, I have to admit that I'm guilty. Guilty that I loved the 2 movies JJ have churned out on this franchise. Talk about perfect casting! And Cumberbatch as Khan? Genius. Btw, I'm more a TNG fan, so this love for the new movies may be logical.

I just watched the movie at the theatres... its flipping AMAZING! I love Star Trek...yes im on of those people.Just an awesome movie.

I haven't seen TV SPOTS for this yet, but according to Box Office Mojo, Paramount also brought Star Trek Into Darkness "back into theaters" (because of the same reason that it didn't surpass the 2009 reboot domestically) as well as the BIGGEST surprise hit of the summer (in my opinion box office wise), World War Z so it could surpass $200 million domestic which is pretty impressive. Both movies were successful worldwide hits too.

The trailer does not make the movie justice. After watching the film (and as an objective film buff and not a lame action/sci-fi flick fan who doesn't know the first thing about movies) I can truly say that this is a work of artistic perfection. Great simple story with intellectual elements, great character development, great cinematography, great direction, credible and identifiable acting, and for the action fans: non-stop action.

how about we stop questioning jj's mad skills?? I trust JJ will nail the next star treks, so i am not too worried.

This movie is so great! It's thrilling, suspenseful, exciting, fascinating, and amazing! There were several moments that had me laughing and several moments that made me cry. It was even better than I expected, and I would recommend it to anyone. Coming from a hardcore trekker, this movie was great! Five stars and two thumbs up for Star Trek Into Darkness!!

This film was brilliant and if you do not like JJ Abrams why did you watch you must have known before hand since you seen his other movies.

I saw this on movie on the first day it came up. On the next week Iron Man 3 came up and this movie was completely removed... Into the darkness is clearly the most underrated movie this year!

Trust me on this one guys...don't read reviews and don't trust hardcore fans i am a big fan of the old show and movies too but i don't mind the change and people are over the top scared of change This movie is awesome,fun,fast paced,with awesome acting,the right amount of cheesiness and with great dramatic moments that took some man tears away from me. do not miss the chance to watch it.

I agree with you fully on this one. When Khan went berserk and started trying to put Kirk's face through the floor, I thought that Kirk must really have regretted starting the whole business by stunning him. If Khan's crew had been used against him by a member of starfleet, from his viewpoint, it's not difficult to assume that Kirk may have been equally treacherous.
