Dias has some really cool moves, it's just too bad that all his later moves are kinda overshadowed by how fast and spammable Air Slash and Chaos Sword are.

I always hated the startup lag on his regular attacks, but his killer moves with proficiency are pretty deadly. Most of the time I just spammed Chaos Sword and Illusion lol. I forgot there even was a 2-hit version of Illusion to begin with.

I hated that too,he is not the legendary warrior the game claims him to be.Most of his attacks are only good against sitting ducks

Air slash / illusion

I always got made fun of for liking Dias the most, everyone says 'Ashton dude, top DPS'. That's a good point and absolutely true for endgame, but Dias is a combo master. Crescent Moon Flash is an opening to do basically whatever you want, because it tends to hit the enemy right before you close in on them. There's some more involved combos beyond that but basically do whatever you want, Gale Stab is always nice if you need to close distance. Figure it out and have fun. Yeah Ashton's better but Dias is way more fun to play.

Agree 100% In fact, I love to use the Link Combo on Dias just for fun. Four Killer Moves makes for some great combo potential. Like you said, Crescent Moon Flash is the perfect opener. Very safe, as it only has one distance setting, so you always know what you'll get when you press it. However, the best opener is actually long range Chaos Sword. It comes out quick, and Dias can move before Chaos Sword actually lands. If you pair Gale Stab with it, then Dias will land the Gale Stab before most enemies can even get out of their block animation from the Chaos Sword, essentially turning it into a 3-hit combo. If you have the Link Combo on, you can have Cross Slash and Crescent Wave on your other shoulder button. After the Gale Stab, Dias will jump into the air and do his Cross Slash, then land and throw out the Crescent Wave as a combo finisher. Crescent Wave has a strong knockback effect, so against lighter enemies, it will send them flying back, preventing them from landing a counter. And that's just one combo out of many I've set up. So much fun messing with Dias' combos with the Combo Link. No other character in the game even comes close!

Dias' strengths are speed and accuracy, so he is very reliable when it comes to getting the damage out quickly and accurately. I would say that his best moves are "Air Slash" and "Illusion"; those moves complement each other really well, and I always pick those moves at the end of the game.

Now there's the remake so you're ok to just enjoy

Chaos sword is so mp efficient its always my spam and firebird shockwave has a slight track and aoe. Both moves have some distance from enemy and quick animation that makes it so your melee character wont just stand there and get hit . The wolves ad knights are the perfect enemies match up to see if your moves are goid ir not. The wolves movement speed teaches you no matter hiw good the move like illusion or gale stab its useless if it doesn't land and secondly the knights thattoss their weapons at you are pretty quick with their distance attack, if your move don't execute faster than them then you get animation cancel, it was really an eye ooener when you set moves that can handle bith scenarios you can pretty much auto AI 90% of the games enemy

i just spammed airslash non stop haha 9999 every time and cd is quick

So does Illusion do 3 hits in the upgraded form? 🤔

i had illusion and chaos sword equipped but i found myself just spamming chaos sword as it essentially stunlocks

"Illusion" at maximum Proficiency is a wonderful move. It is basically Dias' version of "Mirror Slice" and "Sword Dance", and I probably like "Illusion" even better than those moves, since it is so fast.

I'd like dias to be at my team on my playthrough on Star ocean 2 remake but he has low hit count, unlike mirror slash. i'd rather get claude, opera, ashton and rena on my 1st playthrough

If get the remake check out how to make goodie boxes. With a little luck and a few reloads you can unlock some upper tier weapons early in game.

What about Air Slash?
